Both ends of that bug need to come up another inch or so for the best driving capability. Looks good now, but as you have experienced, to stay that low, static, requires much more work in the rear to make it all work right.
Also, it may have been mentioned already, but that is a is a one-year-only rear bumper for a 67 bug. The slope of the inner half of the towel bars was created to clear the 67 beetle decklid.
The beetle looks good, but slamming it in the rear has the unintended effect of starving the rear wheel bearings of lubricating gear oil, so be on the lookout for that issue. As for the front make sure you add caster shims between the frame head and the front beam if you lower the front end any more than a couple of inches. Good luck.
Since I was a kid I always wanted a beetle jus like that with a beautiful patina
Just love the patina on that bug.
@13:42 i felt that through the screen....the amount of times I've done that😅
Seriously 😂😂😂
Raising the rear will look better in my opinion. Less rear camber will match the front.
Corey rocking that FFAK windbreaker 👀
YES! I need that beetle!
Yeah man that beetle is close to being dialed in! The thing with these cars are there are a few parts much lower to the ground than whats seen from a side view. Lowest point of my Notchback is 1.5” to the ground, but rocker to ground is more like 4”. Good luck on the OBS, excited to see what this trip brings!
Yea man it’s deceiving! And thanks Alex!!
So glad you've shown me Evaresto. So many great parts for Beeltes available that I didn't know about! Love those red Koni shocks too
They do incredible work, man!
Beetle is coming along nicely and that knuckle buster…OUCH!!! Man good luck on the OBS we know between you and Corey y’all will make it happen. Looking forward to seeing what you have going on in Florida…til the next one
7.42. That hose clam is on the fuel bowl drain. There is a yellow handle on top to drain the fuel when you go to change the fuel filter. If it is leaking your fuel bowl drain is leaking.
Looks awesome but it WILL eat your rear wheel bearings VERY fast due to oil starvation!! Replace the bearings with sealed ones.
Keep up the good work 💪
That OBS is a manual fuel pump in the valley of the engine. And it is driven off the cam shaft. Has 2 little short hoses on it. It also if all stack as a back pressure valve built into the turbo pedestal which could be your leak.
Love the Beetle, my first car was a 64 Beetle, Java green with a sunroof ( first year for steel sunroof) wish I still had it.
Love those Koni banners. If all goes well my Beretta will be Koni upgraded in a few months! And if all goes super well the other Beretta will be air ride upgraded :D. Loving the progress on the Beetle!
This Beetle would look great in my shop next to my Fiero’s.
Oh, look at all the room in the engine bay of that truck. Been working on 7.3’s in vans for a local business lately. Way less accessible.
Raise the rear another inch. Bugs look best with forward rake. I'll fix that after I win it! LOL
Beetle looks great!
Great progress guys. what are the koni shock numbers?
Thanks man! They are KONI 80-1349!
thanks for the response from Australia@@JohnLudwick
How do I get involved in this giveaway
Great video! Beetle is coming along well! What does 'rake' mean?
Do you have to get shorter Koni shocks or just stock length, to work on the lowered suspension?
Not with the EvaResto beam! They raise the towers so you can run stock shocks that low!
What tire size are you running im working on lowering my 62 looks awesome by the way
why does the right rear have more camber than the left rear ???
Rear torsion bars are probably not clocked to match which will raise one end and lower the other. Takes time to get the clock angle right.
That’s exactly it! We’ve dialed it in now!
Brah. There is nothing wrong with a rake on a beetle. That is normal. Have a sag in the rear is budget.
