Blue note records and the Classic and Tone Poets have changed the game on remastering and releasing reissues. Here are my collection and also my top 10.
Yes that was my biggest surprise too. I honestly don’t think I would have bought it if the online store I bought it from dident have it priced wrong (18eueo). Def one of my absolute favorites.
All Swedish online stores and Amazon unfortunately. I live on the country side so it’s not many times per year I get the opurtunity to shop new records in a store. Would be nice to have a record store in my town. At one point in the cd era we had like 6 stores counting the used and today 0. Insane. Excellent showing of some fabulous records Jonas. I have a 90s pressing of Andrew Hills' Judgement! (1964) paid a handsome price for it, but its' never been reissued to my knowledge and I love the album. I have a slightly warped copy of Out to Lunch, i'm still getting to grips with it to be honest. The Sidewinder was the album that got me into jazz..it's fabulous, but I prefer Cornbread. I would love to get some of these you showed.
I love Andrew Hill. I don’t think I have heard a mediocre from him on Blue Note. Wish I got the Tone Poet but I cheaped out. I just got cornbread on the 75th edition that lame a hand full of years ago. Great record indeed.
Hello Jonas, Thanks for sharing this. I have the same feeling you had about Sonny Clark on Hank Mobley’s Soul Station. I didn’t think the music was exceptional when I streamed it (even on a decent system), but on the record it became for me an absolute masterpeace. The sound is so good, it makes you hear the perfect harmony between the musicians. At last, it is the record of this series I played the most. Magic. Take care. Bruno

The classic series and tone poets are great, but pricier in NZ (about 35EUR for Classic and 40 to 55EUR for Tone Poets). I try to get as many as I can afford! Hill's Black Fire being the most recent.
Oh man. Is that due to import or is it the prices over all in NZ? Hills black fire would prob be on my top ten but I have it as a 70s reissue so I dident get it. I havent bought the once I have as older pressings. Like a thumb of rule. Can’t get them all 😀😀
@@SublimMedia I'm guessing overall prices high due to tax and shipping costs. I don't see many older pressings over here, but have been upgrading a few of my favourites with Tone Poets or Classics. Katanga's great but the cover is misleading - nothing tribal about it. ;)

I love your sense of humor...Great video I'm not a free Jazz kind of girl but I do have so many Tone Poets and Classic series and out of all I only got 1 that was slightly warped it was Out To Lunch( Classic series) I was so mad and Amazon was sold out at the time so I just kept it still plays fine. My favorite would have to be Miles Davis Kind of Blue and Sonny Rollins Saxophone Colossus, Tenor Madness, Lee Morgan Cornbread.
Well. I have a strange type of humor that’s for sure. I got Cornbread just the other day but the 75th anniversary edition. Sounds good but not grate. But the music. Oh the music.
I get them locally and when I do a bigger order I get them from a store in Germany. But I think you can find them at Amazon or something like that. Just go for the 15mill.

Sonny Clark My Conception Tone Poet is by far my favorite. With the all legend line up, it is must own in my opinion.

Fun video, and Classic / Tone Poets are great reissues. My favorite discovery was the Katanga record, amazing both music and sound quality.

Blue Note has released a series of reissues under the name “classics series” just like “tone poet”.
