I agree the gorgeous pintucking on the dress would show up magnificently in a solid colour. The work is the same, but you definitely want to see the beauty of the tucks.
Hi there, Christel here from Cape Town South Africa. Love the garden and the first signs of spring😍Here pretty much still winter, we have had lots of rain (the Cape of Storms). I am however planning to sew a spring dress, cant wait.
Love a good fitted shirt dress Kristen. Very flattering. And great for summer or winter. I feel the pleated or darted details in a shirt or dress do look more effective with a plain colour but love you fabrics all the same ❤
I find remaking a pattern you've already made (but in a different fabric) is just as inspirational as making a new pattern! It really helps to highlight the potential of a pattern, and to look at items in our stash with fresh eyes 😊
And as Im sitting here watching your video, I am wearing my Pilar jacket in a burnt orange corduroy❤lovely pattern, you are going to love sewing it up!
I’m stuck? Need some inspiration about what to make next! Made so many dresses! I don’t wear dresses! Tops well so many! Use lots of pattern emporium patterns love them. Love all you flowers beautiful xxxx
I'm in Canada, and still sewing a summer set. The first glimmer of yellow is showing on our trees. Fall is definitely coming, followed by the inevitable 4-6 months of snow on the ground. I wouldn't mind a blooming bush in my yard in the winter 🙂! I love that Reeta Dress and would love to see how a different fabric turns out in it.
Always love seeing your plans, such beautiful fabrics! I’m just in the process of some t-shirt making, then a mix of maxi skirt and dresses, shirt dresses for an upcoming January summer holiday in the Sunshine Coast - which the way this year has flown, will be here before I’m ready😂
Thanks for reminding us about the Fabric Godmother fabric....have it now in my cart as I think about a midi PE Get Zipped....I made it once last year in a thicker fabric but this could be a summer one. Although zip....Any other ideas for a skirt to take advantage of the print?
Thank you Kristen. I love what you're wearing. You mentioned the top but not your cardi??? Is it RTW. I'm in Sydney and things are starting to bloom, like magnolias and pieris. We were in Thredbo last week and it was the best week anyone can remember in years. Good snow with temps not getting above 0°, no wind and sunny all day. Brilliant. Unfortunately I came back to a case of Covid but on the mend now. I do love some of the Maison Fauve patterns.
Finally assembled and cut out my CC Nicks dress pattern and would like to think I can make a start on it this week, we shall see how that goes. Great suggestions, I’m always up for a shirt dress and had the SA Xanthe on my list for winter but as yet haven’t gotten to it! We’ve had some lovely weather here too and you’re right Spring is in the air and I’m starting to look at brighter colours and light fabrics. Have a great sewing week xx
Here in France, we are frying. It is due to be well over 30 degrees today, so I am indoors with the shutters shut but with some sewing time! I have just found a new pattern company (Daughter Judy) and I am making up their Genra shirt that has some really lovely details. I am having a 'shirt moment' so loved seeing the shirt dresses you mentioned.
Oh wow love your plans Kristen you always choose fabrics and patterns that are different which is very refreshing to watch 🤗
Thank you so much Lynne xx

Hello, yes, that's a RTW cardi by Jacqui E and I have a few of them as they are a lovely weight. Thanks xx
I've been making trials of the PE Sweet Cheeks sweater. Have to say I really like your colour palette today, you look lovely!
Oh thank you!

I've also had my eye on that Maison Fauve pattern for ages. Do you think it would need an FBA?

Oh thanks Kate, I will have to have another look at that pattern company!
