This was an eye-opener. The Yoruba influence in this world is vast. I was at a park in Bristol (UK) last weekend. I saw about 6 Asia people walking by. They were speaking English but it sounded like Pidgin English. I was so amazed that I approached them and asked where they were from. They said Malaysia. Then when I got home and started to research, I came across some information about the similarities between Japan and Benin. Tokyo used to be called Edo. Also, there are similarities between the Japanese language, Yoruba and Igbo. This goes to show how powerful and influential we are as a people. We need to wake up to this fact.

@@ItzLilaHalloween Edo, also romanized as Jedo, Yedo or Yeddo, is the former name of Tokyo. Edo, formerly a jōkamachi centred on Edo Castle located in Musashi Province, became the de facto capital of Japan from 1603 as the seat of the Tokugawa shogunate. Edo grew to become one of the largest cities in the world under the Tokugawa.

As much as I intend to learn Yoruba I wish you did videos in English to or at least had subtitles. Everybody doesn’t speak Yoruba including some Nigerians in the diaspora who would like to learn from your videos .

@@abinibihub I understand but you are also leaving a door closed on many who are trying to tune in to this information as well . I also have done videos on Nigeria and Sierra Leone , and sometimes I mix Krio and pidgin in there but I still make the video universal so everyone can participate . As you know there are many Yorubas in different countries but they do not all speak Yoruba . I am a Yoruba from Sierra Leone and it is not spoken heavily there . We must learn the language but it won’t happen overnight and I’m sure you will drop plenty and plenty of videos before we can master the language and we will be left behind . I appreciate what you are doing brother but please take the diaspora into consideration family .

This is interesting but just a correction. Oro is a Latin word for gold. Whether Spanish, Portuguese, or French, gold is referred to as Oro (Spanish, Portuguese), Or (french), or other spelling variants. That is why Football's golden ball is called Ballon de Or meaning Ball of Gold or golden ball. As a Portuguese speaker myself, I know gold is Oro in Spanish. In general, "Oro" as in gold has nothing to do with Yoruba "Oro" as in wealth. But I agree with most stuff here.

Kadara is a corrupted pronunciation of Arabic word Qadar (destiny). It’s just like Ojo Alaruba (Al-arbaa), Ojo Alamisi (Al-khamis), Adura (Al-duaa), Alubarika (Al-barakah), and many more. We have our indigenous words for all these words Adura (Iwure), Alubarika (ibukun), Alaruba (Ojo ru), Alamisi (Ojo bo). Pls, do your research more.
