Incidence rate is for a given period of time, say one year, the number of new cases devided by all the persons "at risk". So in the example, shouldn't we ignore from the denominator the 2 persons who already have cancer ?

Period Prevalence : 5/10 = 50%.
Right he made an error lol
Much more helpful than how my class explained it, thank you
You're welcome! I'm really glad to hear that you found the explanation helpful.
Thanks for that easy to understand video! I have come across the term "age-adjusted prevalence", would you by chance be able to explain what it means?
in incidence, where did the 100 people per year come from?
Very effective information in a very simple way🍀🌹
5/10 = 40%?

Shouldn't the incidence be 3/8? bcz we are calculating people at risk so 2 of them already had cancer
Good point

if Kaplan could ask 3/10. Makes sense. Have you tried some of those questions over there...mindblown!
That was amazing, immensely appreciated👏
Thanks man u helped me alot
Best explanation yet
Did you made video How to Calculate prevalence for a data using R?
When calculating incidence, shouldn't we divide 3 by 8 which is the population at risk since 2 people already have the disease?
in incidence denominator i think that you should put 8 not 10 cause we exclude cases that were already sick even n the denominator
You right they wrong 😂
What's the difference between emmeans and tukey hsd posthoc tests?
