On my first playthrough I actually ended up getting lucky and beat this boss on the first try after what was an absolutely INTENSE fight. The fight in total lasted about 10 minutes, and after I finished my hands were literally shaking uncontrollably for an hour. Best boss in the series I swear.
I don't understand why Terra attacks Sora. Ventus' heart is in Sora, and through Terra's dialog before the fight, we find out that he can 'sense' Xehanort in Sora (Or something like that). I know that Riku is young Xehanort from the future but the reason he doesn't know this is because of the laws of time travel, all put into great detail in Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance.
Young Xehanort tells Sora about the laws of time travel and says "When I go back, I will forget everything that has happened, and will live on as a boy who wishes to seek other worlds."
Charles C yes but he is referring to himself as a young adult, as M. Xehanort is from Destiny Islands as well. There's a scene in either BBS/KH3D (I forget which) where he is standing with his back to the camera and says "This world is too small" or something. He's talking about himself, before he was visited by Ansem SoD and given the time travel powers.
I finally started playing Birth By Sleep this week, and just beat Terra's story today. Hearing Lingering Will's theme for this made me absolutely loose my mind. Easily the best boss I've fought so far! Hopefully Ventus and Aqua's stories can keep it up!
Truly this battle decided the future course of The Kingdom Hearts Universe. Terra made his last stand here, and it was good enough ...it was good enough.
About three years ago, a friend of mine let me borrow this game (back before my PSP broke in a "sword fight" with a couple of my friends; long story), and I played the heck out of it. I only had the time to do Terra's story though, and was extremely underleveled by the time I got to this fight, and I sucked. I remember listening to this song while leaving the game paused, but then I woke up and realized that I had been listening to that song for two hours. It was then that I decided I should actually try the fight. xD
And did you win ;)? One cannot become better if they never try. to try, only tells us we can do it, which leads to perseverance. And after perseverance, is confidence. Thus leading to believing in one's self. Being under lvled, os actually fun!~
Didn't xemnas have it as well? Because ansem is xehanort's heartless and xemnas is his nobody. And xehanort had control over terra when ansem and xemnas was created
you know, i had to admit, this boss fight was awesome in a very unique, purely because of this song. because this wasn't Terranort's theme. this wasn't the theme of our opponent. this is the theme of Terra's lingering will. this song served as the anthem for the PLAYER, and it made beating on Xehanort that much more satisfying. say what you will about the game's writing, but this was a fantastic move on the devs' behalf, and a highly gratifying gaming experience.
DragonKnight90001 the words of someone who wants to be controled by darkness, and defeated by light Translation:someone who wants to be used by evil and be fucked by light
Brendano Harns YEAH! I said this before, they can do it since star wars is disney now. Imagine figting darth vader. If you've beaten KHII or KHI FM you know what I'm talking about. But now it's the ACTUAL darth vader. Not some nothing.
MarioMan543211 Do you honestly Palpatine and Darth Vader would fall to Xenahort's manipulations? Dream on, it'll never happen. If anything Vader can take on all of Organization XIII and win.
aliastheabnormal I doubt Vader can take all of Organization XIII and survive, let alone win. But Palpatine wouldn't by anyone's manipulations. Hell, he'd probably over throw Maleficent and go head to head with Xehanort himself. Would he win? Dunno but he wouldn't be manipulated one bit.
Terrashell yeah or they could just make the lingering will do something then go to his graveyard for 10 years then for a good 5 years or so then he gets back he body wtf
Terra. As in... TERRA TERRA From Birth By Sleep? The possessor of the Keyblade Armor in this picture? The best character!? More like the biggest dumbass in the entire series.
Jaroy Vs Gaming Terra to me feels like a beast, like a bull. Strong, but simple. Slow, but forceful. Big, and stupid. And that's my favorite play style. "Speak softly and carry a big stick"
I know we all have our opinions but imo Terras story is the most tragic out of all of the characters :( most people say xion or aqua because they're fan favorites, and yeah xion ceased to exist and was forgotten, but terra got his own body possessed because of his desperation to become master. His actions set everything in motion in the other games, and then 10 years go by where his will stuck in an armor got to beat the crap out of his own possessed body. I really do think Terra at the end of kh3 is the strongest out there.
The way I see it, the Lingering Will is more or less Terra’s true Nobody. Xemnas may have been formed from Terra’s body, but the Lingering Will was formed from … well, Terra’s will
I know it’s a joke but for the “take back your body” information you do realize terra was fighting xehanort on the inside to take back control of his body but the X blade explosion sent him flying to another world
They say his heart is still in a constant struggle with that of Xehanort's. Though defeated for now, he still fights inside, waiting to reclaim victory.
Now what would've been awesome is if we got to use (a slightly nerfed version of) Lingering Will's KH2 Moveset. On top of having a ridiculous amount of defense and being unstaggerable - But having low damage output - It really would make you feel like YOU'RE the Boss at that point.
sometime in KH3 in the keyblade graveyard… the 13 xehanorts against the lights, yet over yonder all the 7 princesses are captured, including kairi. Xehanort: haha there's only 6 of you, now there's nothing to stop me from 'fighting' the princesses and forging the x-blade enter Terra's Lingering Will, and this theme plays, and the epic battle begins. at least that's what i think could happen :)
I finished Birth By Sleep last night. I kept Terra's story for the end cause I love this character. When Terra's kneeling with his Keyblade planted in the ground, I wass like, hey it's like Kh2 Final Mix terra, then he rises and Rage Awakened starts to play, then I was all powered up for the most epic boss in the whole Kh history in my opinion. The theme awakened feelings I couldn't explain.
Riku actually went through the same thing and look at him now he's a Keyblade Master that can use both Light and Darkness equally without any negative effects and dive into other's i personally reckon he'll be able to bring back Terra, Aqua, Ventus, and possibly Master Eraqus since his heart is inside Terra's heart
I remember playing this fight 98% defensively. The other 2% were spent hoping I wouldn't have to restart the fight. (The first time on Normal and the second time on Proud mode).
DH2007able try it on Critical with a mostly offensive command deck and only one Curaga command. this was hell for me, but I can't bring myself to hate the fight.
Juuichi Mikazuki I think I'm okay, I beat it on proud and that was good enough for me. Then again, when I played it, I pretty much just focused on reflecting the fireballs back and doing nothing else.
Yeah i know although that was actually thanks to Namine giving him support by saying that shame that Aqua also follows the whole Darkness is evil thing although i imagine if she met Riku and Mickey again she might start to think differently
hours of slamming my keyboard on the floor. i then decided to grind for a day, completed the game in all 3 characters eventually. yeah, levels matter in this game :P
Play it on a keyboard. Thats way harder then on a controller. The game wasnt that hard as soon as you figured each boss out though. Even on critical. But for aquas case: Spam cartwheel like mad xD. Thats why i didnt like at all. That huge amount of dodging you had to do and that bosses rarely suffered knockbacks if you hit them with your keyblade at all (temporary immunity after a set amount of hits not counted. That was always fair) @ Izlude. Well it depends. The first secret boss gets harder the higher you are level wise. The higher you are the more agressive he becomes in terms of attacks.
I can honestly find it easier to believe a scenario where Ven and Aqua are being held captive by Ansem (Since he's clearly coming back too) And then this barrier comes up, (which looks awfully familiar) And then the camera pans to The lingering wills armor, and then the camera flips behind him and BAM this music plays and "OMFG I'M CONTROLLING HIM!!! " Boss battle ensues.
Actually to my knowledge Mysterious figure was much like sephiroth in KH1 as in he was added into the north American release while being absent in the Original Japanese release, and the Japanese only got their hands on these boss fights (and more) Once the final mixes came out, that was their first time fight sephiroth in KH1 :) Nomura likes to add at least SOMETHING into each release even if it's just a localized version of something they just released overseas :)
Funny thing about the cape. After KH 2, we saw a preview of BBS right? Their keyblade armors originally had capes back then. T'was removed due to frame rate issues.
Ansem: is this place safe? Xehanort: Yes, it's perfectly safe to go back to the KEYBLADE GRAVEYARD!! after all, things went so SMOOTHLY last time!! *Flashbacks to the last time* Looks over to terra's lingering will, tapping its keyblade on its shoulder, with 12 broken, bleeding xehanorts in the background, one of them still groaning in pain. Xehanort: Dear god, and it only took me 2 seconds to remember what you did to me last time.... *whacking sounds ensue behind will's cage*

If anything Vader can take on all of Organization XIII and win.
aliastheabnormal You are hilarious!
aliastheabnormal I doubt Vader can take all of Organization XIII and survive, let alone win. But Palpatine wouldn't by anyone's manipulations. Hell, he'd probably over throw Maleficent and go head to head with Xehanort himself. Would he win? Dunno but he wouldn't be manipulated one bit.
Defeat Xehanort and take back your body!
Biggest lie in the game.
Terrashell Scumbag Square Enix
Terrashell
yeah or they could just make the lingering will do something then go to his graveyard for 10 years then for a good 5 years or so then he gets back he body wtf
this OST is just fucking epic
If Terra aka the best KH Chatacter will return/ be playable in KH3 then i can rest in peace
Terra. As in... TERRA TERRA From Birth By Sleep? The possessor of the Keyblade Armor in this picture? The best character!? More like the biggest dumbass in the entire series.
+Jaroy Vs Gaming lol he really is
He's dumb, but DAMN is he fun to play. Certainly better than Aqua.
Ender41948 Yea...nowhere near as fun to play with as Aqua is. Terras controls feel lazy and slow.
First time :
Terranort :HUUUUH EHEH HUUUUH EHEH
Me : WHERE IS THE HEAL ?!
Now imagine old Xeh going for a walk in the Keyblade Graveyard, and the LW seeing him after all those years. >_>
When the mind surpassed the heart
Birth By Sleep definitely had the best battle music by far out of the entire KH series
0:59 to 1:04 that tune is in just about every Terra/Xehanort theme.
Xehanort: HAHA I WILL TAKE OVER TERRA'S BODY AND HE WILL BE NO MORE
Terra: lol n00b
Damn it been 11 years the nostalgia
I wish we can help Terra in KH3
I mean with the amount of breakthrough in 3D, then I think we can expect a lot of truths being revealed in Kingdom Hearts 3.
Charles C
and in the intro we see the 7 guardians fighting xahanort , sora , riku , kairi , the mickey , terra (in his body) , aqua , ventus
Charles C Or it will be the same like the other games and the story will get much more complicated
We did!
He has been helped.
So we meet again, KH3 trailer music.... All this time, I hadn't recognized what you really were.
Having the Ultima Weapon and the Ultima Cannon was the best thing that I had for this fight!!!!
Aqua, Ven... One day I'll set things up.
The way I see it, the Lingering Will is more or less Terra’s true Nobody. Xemnas may have been formed from Terra’s body, but the Lingering Will was formed from … well, Terra’s will
Lingering Will is literally just thoughts and feelings that have been discarded. Nothing more.
This theme and this boss made me feel bad ass when I beat the crap of the boss in proud....that feeling is awesome
Franko XG now do it on Critical
@@syrelian use lightning ray twice at level 45. Just enough to beat xehanort.
GUARD GUARD GUARD GUARD
FOCUS SHOT
your best friend
Didn't know this song had more than 40 seconds...
I know it’s a joke but for the “take back your body” information you do realize terra was fighting xehanort on the inside to take back control of his body but the X blade explosion sent him flying to another world
The most epic soundtrack in the series
And So lingering will started grinding until he was lv9999 and then sora met him in KH2FM.....the pain i had to go trough to beat him
It always makes me feel like I'm running out of time...
Internal Reaction: ^-^
Eternal Reaction: ^-^
''Your heart submits, your body succumbs, so why does your mind resist?!''
They say his heart is still in a constant struggle with that of Xehanort's. Though defeated for now, he still fights inside, waiting to reclaim victory.
Now what would've been awesome is if we got to use (a slightly nerfed version of) Lingering Will's KH2 Moveset. On top of having a ridiculous amount of defense and being unstaggerable - But having low damage output - It really would make you feel like YOU'RE the Boss at that point.
this theme represents my life so much
sometime in KH3 in the keyblade graveyard…
the 13 xehanorts against the lights, yet over yonder all the 7 princesses are captured, including kairi.
Xehanort: haha there's only 6 of you, now there's nothing to stop me from 'fighting' the princesses and forging the x-blade
enter Terra's Lingering Will, and this theme plays, and the epic battle begins.
at least that's what i think could happen :)
Terra...i miss you
“ your body submits. Your heart succumb. So why does your mind resist!?”
IMO in KH3 it should be Terra who kills Xehanort not Sora after all the hell Xehanort has put Terra through.
Terra is still fighting xhanort in you play 0.2
lmao im amazed how the fight has lasted years
He's been fighting him for a decade or so hasn't he?
I have good news and bad news!
Agreed. But alas, that did not happen.
Now i must push the replay-button the 100000th time :D
HMPH HMPH HMPH HEHEH HMPH HMPH YOU HAVE A LAWN
The Legendary Battle.. that can be cheesed with Dark Volley when Xehanort uses Meteor
Just use lightning ray twice back to back at the start of the fight and it's over.
If you play this and KHFM's version at the same time, you will have a massive eargasm...:)
*For best results, use your earbuds or headphones*
11 years later, Terra's armor found time to knit a cape.
I played kh 3 before birth by sleep and when the message popped up defeat xehanort and take back your body i just thought oh the lies..
Shoutout to shotlock commands for saving me from combos time and time again
Good song... Trainer Crimson I have no idea what you posted, but you gave extremely good detail. :)
Das beste! Immer am hören.
Alles klar
Problem?
Your body submits, your heart succumbs, so why does your urge to break your controller resist?!
I always listen to this when I have to study for an exam a few hours before
I remember playing this fight 98% defensively.
***** that's a viable strategy but it's also a bit boring. I always went into the fight with a Chaos Blade command to speed it up.
Yeah i know although that was actually thanks to Namine giving him support by saying that shame that Aqua also follows the whole Darkness is evil thing although i imagine if she met Riku and Mickey again she might start to think differently
Whenever I hear this music, I will be like 'Poor Terra...'. It just got that tone of depression in it.
This crap, was hard...WAS WAY TOO HARD...
hours of slamming my keyboard on the floor. i then decided to grind for a day, completed the game in all 3 characters eventually. yeah, levels matter in this game :P
The higher you are the more agressive he becomes in terms of attacks.
got em first time you need ultima shotlock and any deck
Nope, too easy for me.
Ragna Bloodedge Same here i destroyed Vanitas with one hit with terra in the final boss fights in Badlands that is and in Critical Diff
That armor design is just so badass
Find out in the next exciting episode of Dragon Ball Z!
Wait...wrong video.
Top 10 Anime last stands
Actually to my knowledge Mysterious figure was much like sephiroth in KH1 as in he was added into the north American release while being absent in the Original Japanese release, and the Japanese only got their hands on these boss fights (and more) Once the final mixes came out, that was their first time fight sephiroth in KH1 :) Nomura likes to add at least SOMETHING into each release even if it's just a localized version of something they just released overseas :)
It's my heart, and I need it now!
Should've gotten heart insurance, Terra.
Funny thing about the cape. After KH 2, we saw a preview of BBS right? Their keyblade armors originally had capes back then. T'was removed due to frame rate issues.
The violin in this version sounds very good
"Your body submits, your heart succumbs. So why does your mind resist!"
Ansem: is this place safe?
Xehanort: Yes, it's perfectly safe to go back to the KEYBLADE GRAVEYARD!!
after all, things went so SMOOTHLY last time!! *Flashbacks to the last time*
Looks over to terra's lingering will, tapping its keyblade on its shoulder, with 12 broken, bleeding xehanorts in the background, one of them still groaning in pain.
Xehanort: Dear god, and it only took me 2 seconds to remember what you did to me last time....
*whacking sounds ensue behind will's cage*
Me: *Hits Terranort*
Terranort: What?!
Me: RIGHT?!
nice comment, terra's last stand, and he did his best, truly
"Your body submits, your heart succumbs. So why does your mind resist?!"
"The theme awakened feelings I couldn't explain." Rage, perhaps?
I finally defeated Xehanort!!! :) This battle took me over ten tries, then in the end I finally won! :)
Only because he accepts both light and darkness. Terra is still of the mentality that darkness is evil, therefore cannot accept it.
The final mix bosses were just for fun. Nomura confirmed it in an interview and Vanitas Remenant maybe oe of the 13 darknesses (guessing)
theme so badass it only plays exclusively to lingering will
Your body submits, your heart succumbs. But why does your mind RESIST!?
6 years later... Still Salty
where are you Terra? i hope you still safe.. i believe you and Eraquas will return together
Actually, @Monseigneur001, he kept the body and the heart. LW kept the mind, as stated in the pre-battle cutscene.
'Your body succumbs to me, so why doesnt your mind??!'
Xerranort-
and this song represents literally Terra's anger.
tell the friend to synthesize a blizzaga out of two blizzaras and add pulsing crystal to that, and then a thundaga out of two thundaras, and add a wellspring crystal to that. (Second Chance and Once More)
