I remember being very bored watching the 2019 version. The original movie is very cartoony and colorful, and they made each angel memorable by making them a high school stereotype (Cameron is the ditzy cheerleader, Lucy is the science club nerd, and Drew is the burnout punk), while in the 2019 movie, everyone is the same shade of professional secret agent. They wanted to make sure the women gave "competency" as much as possible, to the detriment of "personality".
The funny thing is what worked about the 2000s is it tried not to be serious and plus it continued where the original tv series the one from the late 70s but evolved and the chemistry between those three no film or tv show can replicate ever and there was plans to continue the Charlies angels franchise after full throttle with a third and fourth but later got scrapped so it boggles my mind for them to do a film reboot when people weren’t ready or interested to see a new Charlies angels trio but there has been discussions from Drew and some people from the cast about reuniting to do a third film to fix it but after seeing what they did with bad boys 3 the best thing they could have done is leave the franchise alone and just bring back the main three trios from the 2000s one more time to think in the 2010s universal pictures and Sony made reboots to the mummy and Charlies angels that no one asked for and people kindly remember the Brendan Fraser one and the 2000s films I’m just like thanks for bringing back two my favorite movie franchises and butchering it 🙄🙄🙄the 2000s trio were a team right away this train wreck had two girls that are angels that don’t even like each other and this woman who isn’t an angel until the end credits 🙄🙄😑 and I think making the Townsend agency the main agency worldwide is like okay so other trios in other parts are more special than the one we are supposed to care about and since when does bosley become important last thing I remember he’s a side character and the disguises were terrible in this like 2000s trios made for better spies than this mess of a trio
@@RodneyDollar the 2000’s was a much better period in time to bring Charlie’s Angels to the forefront, whereas by 2019 in a world oversaturated with remakes and sequels it’s just not the time or place for it anymore. And if it’s gonna be the time then it needs to be done with affection, which it just doesn’t feel like this film had. The angels in this movie were awesome but you’re right, they didn’t have the solid team camaraderie from the beginning, and as such they didn’t feel like a tight unit much of the time. The girls in the original Angels movies were inseparable, and you felt it
