Hola buen dia !!!
thanks a lot , I write a comment from Mongolia. some water always drop down from the roof of my car during raining after my car had been repaired from a crash . Absolutely I couldn't decipher the coat hook in my car while I was taking apart all interline material from my roof of my car . in fact I fought to remove the coat hook for whole day. then I began to search any video about it. Fortunately I found your video , thank you so much , I appreciate you :-) :-) :-)
Fantastic tutorial ...Am replacing my hedliner explorer 2006 and just for that little 4 pieces.I stop it. But now THANK YOU SO MUCH.greetings from Merida Yuc. mx....like and susc.....9 nov. 2020...9.35 am
Thank you for the video. Been trying for days to get those off. And by my search yours is the only one that tells people how to really take those off in a video. Thanks for all your help
Dude! Thank you! pulling my 2006 Explorer's headliner down for antenna install and didn't want to destroy headliner in the process. Suggestion: Add the word 'FORD' or 'EXPLORER' to your video's title so we can find it easier. Never occurred to me to search for 'Expedition'. Again - MANY thanks!
Thank you for the illustration. I have to replace my 1/4 window and got stuck at the coat hanger. So, I decided to go to UA-cam to see if someone will share the information. Again, thanks so much for sharing. Now it's back to work :-)
Glad I could help! I also struggled to find a good illustration which prompted me to make the video. So glad it helped you out. Have a wonderful day, week, and year!!
I am so glad you found my video helpful. I too struggled with it at first, which is why I made the video. I am happy I could help you out! Have a wonderful day!
😎 I have been there. Glad I could help make things a little easier for you! Also wanted to say thanks for the comments. Nice to hear we are helping some of you guys out!! Have a great day and always remember to enjoy the little things.
At least for first generation 1997-2002 Expeditions, the Ford procedure is to insert the screwdriver to the back of the slot and then twist the screwdriver 90-deg. The hook in the video looks exactly the same as the first gens, so I assume the 90-deg twist is correct for the later models as well. This pries both metal clips open, not just one side as the method in the video shows. I broke mine trying to pry as shown in the video.
Thanks for helping everyone out. There was no video on this to be found at the time it was shown by myself. I’d encourage you to make a video as well. If you do, send it to me and I’ll link it in the description! 👍
I have a question. What is the name of the metal piece that holds the plastic coat hook. I need to get one of those. I have one broken and it will not hold the plastic coat hook.
Excellent video, I have to replace one of those in my 2004 Expedition. Could you help with how to remove one of the headliner vents as well, they're supposed to pop right out but I'm not sure how to go about it? Thanks!
J Bovenzi check out the headliner vent video. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Will soon have a wood working, maker, and general home repair channel. Always glad to help!
If the entire plastic clip is out of the metal retainer. If there is any remaining broken pieces of plastic you will need a screwdriver to pry it out. If you are just installing the new one, it just presses in and is held on by friction from the metal retaining clip.
For those of you watching this video my prayer is that you ALL come to know JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH as your LORD AND SAVIOR. ROMANS 10:9 say that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that GOD raised JESUS from the dead we will be saved.
7 years later and yours is the most helpful video out there. Thank you!! 1:12

Great video....! Now I just need to change the sunroof now
The BEST explanation of how to remove these, almost too easy once you understand how it works. Other videos say to twist it 90 degrees...
Glad it helped you out. Have a great day!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Hope you're still around. By any chance do you have the part numbers of the hooks? or amazon or rockaout link for a Expedition 2005.? Thanks.
I do not have these part numbers. A trip to your local ford dealer would be my recommendation. Good luck in your search. Thank you
can u show how to manually lower the sun/moon roof? t.i.a
You are welcome!! Have a great day!
Thank you!
Gonna do this
I need to replace one I broke, can I just push it on or do I need the screwdriver?
If the entire plastic clip is out of the metal retainer. If there is any remaining broken pieces of plastic you will need a screwdriver to pry it out. If you are just installing the new one, it just presses in and is held on by friction from the metal retaining clip.
Hope that helps you out.
Good show
Thank you for this video its super helpful
