NI thought the passage of time was controlled by Aslan, as in he’s the one bringing the kids in whenever they are needed in Narnia. Which I think is really cool.
As a kid I couldn’t figure out why I liked the queen so much even though she was evil. And then as a grown gay I realize it’s cause she consistently served 🐱
Im borderline BEGGING YOU to react to the sequel😭😭 I love this series so much, I remember when i was younger realising that Narnia wasnt real and being super depressed that I would never get to live a magical life in Narnia😂💕
Edmund was actually my favorite of the kids because he had middle child syndrome terribly because there was a first born son, the. Daughter and then the youngest was his little sister so he was (rightfully) upset and the queen absolutely took advantage of that. Also who wouldn't fall for Tilda's White Queen lol. He also had the best arc in the books.
I always liked Edmund, too! I got so angry when he didn't get a present. In my mind he still deserved a present because he was just tricked by the bad witch.
@sammjaisais7135 exactly and he also seemed to, which to their credit they did acknowledge, be the punching bag for the other three because to the older two he was immature and to Lucy he was a stick in mud or rude when in reality he was just that sarcastic metal child because even though technically his older sister was also a middle child being the eldest daughter she had certain responsibilities that put her more like a secondary first child so he was the second boy, a middle child because he wasn't the baby... I just feel like he always got the worst end of the stick and then they were surprised when he fell for the tricks of someone who finally treated him like he's seen the others treated.
You have to adopt a Doctor Who mentality on passage of time when it comes to Narnia. It's not linear, it's wibbly wobbly. Always forward and never backwards, but also never consistent. When Lucy comes out both times, and when all four come out at the end, they're brought back to basically the instant they left. Even though the last time some 20-30 years had passed for them inside.
Fun fact; I was obsessed with this movie when it first came out as a wee 6 year old and it got to the point where my mum had to hide the vhs of this from me because I'd watch it and completely fall apart at the foxes death and Aslan's 😂 like full mental breakdown snotty crying and mum was like "I can't deal with this everyday" so hid the tape in the attic 😂
@chrissie627 my ma will do the same thing but I will cry at the part were all of them returned back home and could never go back to Narnia... That's until the second movie comes around and hits us where it really hurts.
I think one of the most charming stories I heard about this movie is that the director didn’t let any of the kids (especially Georgie) see James McAvoy in costume until the shoot. That first look is captured beautifully on film. ❤
i think that when they enter narnia, time stands still in human world. so when lucy first goes she's gone just for a few hours whereas when they all go they're gone for years and yet in both cases when they come back it's been 1 sec
I know the whole mystique scene in parody where she slowly gets thick was making fun of fat people , but I always saw it as body positive , the chrachter knew what he wants and it was a kink where consent and communication was important, but its actually just a fat joke

having read the book, this adaptation is actually very true to the source material and dare i say a slight improvement. there are minor additions and omissions that give the characters a bit more agency and thus more compelling.
I say this all the time, book to movie adaptations now a days need to take this movie specifically, as an example because is close to perfection. Everything they add, adds to the story and anything that they do take away doesn’t feel like is missing.
@@maryy.angell I would honestly say, everything they removed it helped the movie a bit. We didn't need a 2 minute conversation with a giant concerning a handkerchief. And truthfully, that is pretty much the most major thing they removed from the movie, which was removing some minor side characters that honestly didn't add much to the story, just enhanced the world building. And they only added one new character, which honestly was to help move the story along and to show Edmund's hero arc.
The unicorn remark is kinda funny considering the last book. One of the main characters is a unicorn who mostly fights by impaling dudes on his horn. Unicorns in Narnia are hardcore
If I recall correctly, one line mentioned Jewel (the unicorn) "Tossing men with his horn, like you would toss hay with a fork", so yes, unicorns in Narnia are indeed hardcore!
"Where have I seen a lion that flies?" Have you seen A Very Potter Musical? That's the only thing I can think of with a talking lion that flies.😂 RUMBLEROAR!
I don't really remember much from the BBC versions, but I think Aslan flies in that version. Or at least does a huge jump like Smallville's Superman (technically can't fly but can jump so far it doesn't make a huge difference).
as an ex catholic, the two jesus related sentences that broke me recently are 1. since jesus was a carpenter, do you think that for a second, he smelled the wood of the cross and thought of home 2. when mary was wrapping the body of jesus did she think of swaddling him as a baby
Pretty sure that was referenced in the Passion of the Christ film. Maybe not the smell of the wood but definitely the nailing on the cross. It’s definitely implied that both instances are symbolic of his life
One of my favorite moments is the beginning of the battle and theres no sound till the 2 cats hit each other. It just is an awesome choice to do that. It gives me shivers each time.

Definitely one of my favourite fantasy films. I love when films are able to use practical effects for the creature characters and just the details in the costumes and how it reflects each character. Still own the book about each creature design
I only watched the first one but I remember really wishing I’d see the professor in Narnia at some point. I assumed he was some sort of important figure there and traveled there often
@@RM90855 The Professor was in Narnia before Aslan created it. Narnia was virtually empty. The Professor fought the White Witch and actually built the Wardrobe.

Fun fact - the actor for Edmund (Skandar Keynes) is no longer an actor is actually a political advisor for the conservative party in the UK, and he’s also the great great great grandson of Charles Darwin

I remember when this movie came out when I was little before Christmas. That Christmas my mom bought Turkish delight and it was so special. She made it a tradition and gets it every year for Christmas to this day. It is softer than a jujube, like a soft gel covered in powdered sugar, the only flavour we like is lemon.
This movie literally came out when I was nine years old. Now at 27 I leave my house for work with “One day!!!!” In my head. That song has literally been stuck in my brain that long.
Just to let you know, the time difference between Narnia and our world is not consistent and it's not supposed to be. In the end it's by the whim of Aslan
These movies had such magic for me as a kid! Watched them all the time and to this day, love the soundtrack! Also, Benji wasn't entirely wrong with the "Aslan flies" thing. That happened in the BBC mini-series and I'm sure of this since I literally watched it yesterday lol.
regarding the time speed difference, it's changing. When the Professor entered Narnia for the first time (when he was a kid) Narnia was created, and he witnessed the creation. When the first book takes place, it's been thousands of years. When they entered Narnia again, a thousand years passed (2nd Book), but the next time, it was just a few years (3rd book). 4th, even though about 2/3 years passed on Earth, in Narnia it was 50/60 years. So the difference in the time doesn't stay the same, Aslan modifies it as he wants - and it's only him that actually allows them to enter. Oh, and fun fact - the lamp is a a street lamp from around the time the Professor entered Narnia first - the witch (ansestor of the witch in the first movie) broke the piece of the lamp and the Professor took it with him, when Narnia was created it was filled with the energy of creation so it grew and replicated everything that it touched, the piece of the lamp grew into the one seen in the 1st book.
"their graphics are pretty good, i wasn't questioning the reality for a second" yeah this, and the Harry Potter/Pirates of the Caribbean era was just so good
Love this reaction so much! 😂 please tell me you guys are gonna watch Prince Caspian? Hopefully Benji likes Ben Barnes more as Caspian than as The Darkling 🥲 and Peter is hot in the 2nd one too 😏
i havent read the books (its on my to do list) but this and the Percy Jakson movie made me want to be a writer. fingers crossed that 2024 will be the year i finally get my book on a shelf
The part that disturbed me as a kid and still does, is when you see that the witch has turned the goat guy into stone (don’t know his actual name) and how we see his face of pure agony and fear. Horrifying!! 😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰
More trivia: when Lucy (Georgie Henley) was crying at Mr Tumnus turned to stone, she was actually distressed at seeing the image of James McEvoy in so much pain… Georgie & James had become real close friends by this time during shooting. It was easy for Georgie to grieve for James.
I was not expecting you guys reacting to this movie but I'm so here for it.I watched it a lot growing up and to this day if I see a big closet I will walk in and check just in case 😂
The professor actually sees Narnia being created and as the book series goes on, you can see Narnia getting older and older until you see the end of Narnia. Just like the Earth is getting older too.
Narnia is SO underrated! The casting and acting is outstanding (in particular Tilda Swinton as The White Witch and Liam Neeson as Aslan). The visuals and the cinematography is phenomenal. The score is so good. Everything about it is just amazing. Also, my 12 year old self had such a crush on William Moseley. And in 2008 my 15 year old self was crushing on William, Skandar AND Ben Barnes (Benji what is wrong with you?!). The Magician’s Nephew (which is the second-to-last published book and first chronologically) is about the creation of Narnia and tells the story of a boy named Digory Kirke, the professor, and his friend Polly, who use magic rings to access “The Wood Between the Worlds", which is full of pools that act as portals to other realms (one of which is the yet-to-be-born world of Narnia). Digory later built the wardrobe using wood from a Narnian tree. Obviously, Narnia time works differently than the real world. In the books Narnia time from beginning to end covers ca. 2500 years while in the real world, that same time only covers 50 years. But you're right, the huge discrepancy between the real-world time and Narnia time from The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe to Prince Caspian vs. Prince Caspian to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader shows that there is a bit of an inconsistency between the two worlds’ timelines. I didn't notice Jadis wearing Aslan's mane during the battle for the longest time, and if I remember correctly that wasn't in the book. Fun facts: Georgie Henley's (Lucy) first reaction to Narnia is genuine. They didn't let her see the set until they filmed it. Her reaction to Mr. Tumnus is also genuine, for she had not seen James McAvoy in his costume before the scene was filmed. And Georgie's older sister Rachael plays grown-up Lucy. The character of the White Witch was inspired by the Snow Queen from the story of Hans Christian Andersen (Elsa from Frozen is loosely based on her too since she was originally supposed to be the villain). Also, the Turkish Delight was enchanted and highly addictive, making the one who ate it want more and more as well as being more susceptible to give out information (though Edmund's resentnent towards Peter definitely helped). Edmund has often been compared to Judas, who betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Edmund betrays Aslan, who represents Jesus, for thirty pieces of Turkish Delight. J.K. Rowling has said she was influenced by Narnia and whether it was on purpose or not, each of the Pevensie children represent each of the houses in Hogwarts. Peter = Gryffindor: Brave, loyal, honourable, chivalrous, a natural fighter & leader and protects his family at all costs but is impulsive and proud. Edmund = Slytherin: Ambitious, resourceful and falls into temptation to gain power & recognition. Susan = Ravenclaw: Logical, wise, intelligent, witty, caring and often the voice of reason. Lucy = Hufflepuff: Kind, helpful, selfless, forgives easily and treats everyone as equals. She also has a bit of Gryffindor in her: Brave and loyal. The third film is not as good as the other two but still entertaining (mainly because of the legend that is Eustace!). But it's unfortunate cuz they never finished the franchise. They were also competing with bigger franchises like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. They were gonna adapt The Magician's Nephew, the first book of the series, until Walden Media lost its rights to the franchise in 2011. The Mark Gordon Company retained the rights instead to adapt the next book in the franchise, The Silver Chair. But for some reason that never happened, and in 2018, Netflix acquired the rights to develop their own Narnia reboot. In 2023 it was announced that Greta Gerwig was set to direct at least two of the novels for Netflix (whether it's two of these remade or any of the other four I don't know). If you haven't seen My Best Friend's Wedding I highly suggest it. It stars Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Dermot Mulroney and Rupert Everett. And if you want to see a more grown-up and different side to Lucy's actress Georgie Henley, I suggest Perfect Sisters. It's based on the real life murder of Linda Andersen (played by Mira Sorvino) who was killed by her two teenage daughters (played by Georgie and Abigial Breslin).
Really random weird brag - Douglas Gresham, the producer and stepson of C.S. Lewis used to occasionally take in families in the old farm house in Northern Ireland where the books were written (it’s sold now, sadly). When my family moved to the country as missionaries Gresham and his wife took us in and I got to go into the wardrobe (I was terrified 😂) and his wife taught me how to put fake blue eggs in their chickens’ nest to encourage them to lay eggs, tried rhubarb pie for the first time and had Douglas Gresham read Narnia to us as a bedtime story in his gravelly voice. This was way before the movies and I didn’t realise how magical it was until I was much older. Still have some photos somewhere of him reading to my sisters and me in our pjs and a few signed copies of the illustrated narnia books. When the movies came out I thought Peter was really cute. Actually had crush on all of them at some point lol Mr. Tumnus tho 👀 hi 👋 😂
Realized I watch this channel too much when I was seeing this video and my Dad walked in and said:"Oh is this guy and the other one again" 1.Sorry Rizzo, you were the other one here😂 2. My Dad remembering a UA-cam channel I follow is weeeird
I came to the comments to see if ppl were shitting on my boy Edmund. Glad to see there's not any of that, I think growing up is realizing that Edmund was just a kid and he really went through a remarkable character arc/development. I LOVE Edmund, you see some of his character arc in this movie, but you REALLY see it in the Boy and His Horse though it was never made into a movie, which takes place during their rule of Narnia. You really see him as the Just King. Also...he's a child in this, and he was manipulated and abused by the White Queen. So I am always really protective of him lol
I don't know if anyone has already said this but I'm pretty sure the flying Lion is from the old BBC ones or one of the older versions!! I remember them flying too
Cause I absolutely would’ve cried at a stupid post like that lol he can take the Christian out of the boy but sometimes he can’t take the boy out of the Christian
This is one of my favorite movies from my childhood! It was one of the only movies that I wanted and got on DVD that was not a Barbie or Disney princess movie as a kid. I watched it all the time and started rewatching recently too! I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet, but the older Lucy was played by Georgie Henley's older sister, which is why she looked so much like young Lucy, because the actresses were actually sisters. Also, the wardrobe was made from the wood of a magic tree from Narnia, which the professor got when he was younger and had his own adventure into Narnia, and that's why he was so curious and paid attention when the Pevensies started talking about something magical going on with the wardrobe. I also saw that the director wanted to tell the story of The Magician's Nephew (the professor's adventure in Narnia as a boy) in the carved panels on the outside of the wardrobe, which is very cool to me! Finally, have you guys covered Pride and Prejudice? I feel like that would be another really funny reaction from you both and I would love to hear your thoughts!
about the time thing, i think it's stipulated/assumed that time just passes differently there. not just faster, but sometimes slower but also at the same rate too. magic!
The books explain the time thing - it’s not a constant equation kind of thing. When you're in Narnia, no matter how long you stay there, no time passes in the "real" world; but when you're in the "real" world, any amount of time could be passing in Narnia.
I had the biggest crush on William Moseley (Peter) when this movie came out. I was 13. I even watched "The Royals" where he played a Prince of England. I have a thing for white men with British accents.
I can't say how much I LOVE this movie enough. It's so amazingly great! My #1 fav Narnia movie are tied with the first and second one, but I haven't seen the second one since it was added to Disney+ so I need to rewatch it so see. I cried so hard to the point I was gasping/taking deep breathes of air during Aslans death scene. Edmund is so annoying in this movie besides towards the end and all, but definitely like his character more in the second and third one from what I remember. Love the videos! You two do an amazing job! Would love to see reactions to the other two Chronicles of Narnia movies and The Sound of Music!
it's 9pm on a sunday night and i am RESTRAINING myself from starting this video because i know i will watch it from beginning to end and i can't do that to myself the night before going back to work 😭 but wanted to let y'all know how excited i am for this :D
Ok but does anyone else remember the Narnia exhibit Disney did at Hollywood Studios? It was so cool! You literally got to walk through the wardrobe and go to Narnia with the lampost, Tumnus’s house, and the cracked the stone table. They also had the costumes on display.
There was something about James McAvoy in this movie that peaked my interest lol but I crushed hard on Edmond in the second movie, 10 y/o me was in love. And this is my favorite of the trilogy. So cozy and warm and nostalgic
I think that most people dislike Turkish delight because it is often flavoured with rose - which some people read as tasting like soap. I personally adore it!
On the off chance you see this comment- how they look does not matter because time and aging work differently in narnia. For them it has been centuries and so much has happened that they forgot their origins. When they want back through the wardrobe and became children again, it was with many centuries worth of memories
Holy crap that makes the time disparity even crazier lol hopefully they forget most of it so they’re not centuries-old people trapped in children’s bodies 😭
Them talking about how they had/didn't have (childhood) crushes on the Pevensies as kids is so relatable. As a kid I had crushes on Susan and (older) Edmund in these movies, and was very confused about myself lmao
I was laughing my ass off every time Benji mentioned a flying lion. I knew immediately what he was talking about, but I can’t place where I saw it either. 😂
I grew up with the books, audio books, and the old movie versions. Somewhere in there I'm pretty sure Aslan does fly. Or maybe it was one of the later books/movies where it happens.
I specifically remember the lion having wings so maybe it was the lion from Rudolph? 😂 somewhere in my deep subconscious since I grew up watching that movie constantly. At least we know we aren’t crazy. Lol
1:19 Benji is so right! This was my favorite part of the movie and if you haven't watched Narnia in a long time and you hear this, you can immediately tell is from Narnia
Aslan allowing Susan and Lucy to walk with him before he sacrifices himself is kinda like in the Bible when Jesus asks the disciples to pray and stay with him before he's taken by the Roman soldiers. It's a moment that shows you that even though Aslan is powerful enough to be able to come back, he's also a creature with very human feelings and he's kinda scared of doing this alone.
I know there is no such thing as a 100% perfect but the chronicles of Narnia, defy all laws of understanding. The world of narnia is such beautiful, magical and fantastical yet easy to understand and flow along with the story. It has everything, dragons, pirate ships, mermaid, talking animals, princesses, witches, *lions and tigers and bears* I think everyone should at least read one the books at least once in their lifetime, its life changing truly.
Did not realize as a kid how problematic their giant fur coats are in a land of sentient talking animals🙈
😭😭
OMGGGGGGG
in Narnia the talking animals are actually kinda prejudiced against their “dumber” counterparts…in a quasi religious prejudice way
What's really crazy is when Peter says he'll make Beaver into a hat after he's been wearing a beaver fur coat
Maybe they just do it in a different way, pelts to honor dead family members gifted to or sold to close friends or neighbors to stay warm and stuff
Fun fact: the kids were not allowed to see the set so when they entered Narnia for the first time, their reactions were genuine.
That’s so awesome!
Same with Mr Tumnus! She had only seen James McAvoy without makeup in rehearsals, so when he came around the corner looking like that, her reaction was genuine.

Those "I didn't do FUCKIN! SHIT!" cameos where placed so perfectly every single time!😂😂😂😂 I damn near pissed myself at the mermaid one.😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Growing up, I just had the biggest crush on William Moseley as Peter and honestly, he still looks so fine.
Agreed. He hot in Prince Caspian 🔥
TO TA LLYYYYYY
Baby prince Caspian had me in a choke hold
I watched Prince Caspian 3 times in one weekend as a child because I was obsessed with William Moseley
Im borderline BEGGING YOU to react to the sequel😭😭 I love this series so much, I remember when i was younger realising that Narnia wasnt real and being super depressed that I would never get to live a magical life in Narnia😂💕
It would be so awesome to visit Narnia loll
Even though the last time some 20-30 years had passed for them inside.
i watched this movie SO many times as a kid. i even went through the special features over and over
Omg I loved watching special features as a kid! Still do!
😂😂😂
@chrissie627 my ma will do the same thing but I will cry at the part were all of them returned back home and could never go back to Narnia... That's until the second movie comes around and hits us where it really hurts.
Moral of the Story: Time is a social construct
I think one of the most charming stories I heard about this movie is that the director didn’t let any of the kids (especially Georgie) see James McAvoy in costume until the shoot. That first look is captured beautifully on film. ❤
i think that when they enter narnia, time stands still in human world. so when lucy first goes she's gone just for a few hours whereas when they all go they're gone for years and yet in both cases when they come back it's been 1 sec
hmmm that makes *somewhat sense hmm 🤔
This series is still one of my favorites!! Prince Caspian was also the movie that started my Ben Barnes obsession 😊
wonder why it never rubbed off on Benji lol
@@PinkPopcastit has to be because Ben Barnes and rizzo are like literal brothers
I remember ‘Epic Movie’ (parody of ‘Narnia’) where Jennifer Coolidge played a version of the White Witch and she was just brilliant haha
Same lmao
I know the whole mystique scene in parody where she slowly gets thick was making fun of fat people , but I always saw it as body positive , the chrachter knew what he wants and it was a kink where consent and communication was important, but its actually just a fat joke
@@darthekul1 I totally get what you’re saying.
@@PokhrajRoy. I'm glad lol, I'm a confusing person who randomly ranted about body positivity in a paragraph lol , also jennifer Coolidge is a treasure, and alot of drag queens and gay people see her as a role model and she loves it
lololol yeah we just rewatched that movie last month and it was... interesting, to say the least@@darthekul1
having read the book, this adaptation is actually very true to the source material and dare i say a slight improvement. there are minor additions and omissions that give the characters a bit more agency and thus more compelling.
That’s awesome! I feel like there are very few book movie adaptations that can say that
I say this all the time, book to movie adaptations now a days need to take this movie specifically, as an example because is close to perfection.
Edmund when he first met The White Queen: “Great gowns. Beautiful gowns.”
The unicorn remark is kinda funny considering the last book. One of the main characters is a unicorn who mostly fights by impaling dudes on his horn. Unicorns in Narnia are hardcore
🙌🙌
If I recall correctly, one line mentioned Jewel (the unicorn) "Tossing men with his horn, like you would toss hay with a fork", so yes, unicorns in Narnia are indeed hardcore!
"Where have I seen a lion that flies?"
Have you seen A Very Potter Musical? That's the only thing I can think of with a talking lion that flies.😂 RUMBLEROAR!
omg WHAT!?
Rudolph? The lion that leads the island of misfit toys has wings and flies!
omg yessss please react to starkid it's so fucking funny! @@PinkPopcast
Seriously y'all gotta watch A Very Potter Musical. You two will have a blast!
I don't really remember much from the BBC versions, but I think Aslan flies in that version. Or at least does a huge jump like Smallville's Superman (technically can't fly but can jump so far it doesn't make a huge difference).
as an ex catholic, the two jesus related sentences that broke me recently are
1. since jesus was a carpenter, do you think that for a second, he smelled the wood of the cross and thought of home
2. when mary was wrapping the body of jesus did she think of swaddling him as a baby
🥺🥺
Pretty sure that was referenced in the Passion of the Christ film. Maybe not the smell of the wood but definitely the nailing on the cross.
It’s definitely implied that both instances are symbolic of his life
One of my favorite moments is the beginning of the battle and theres no sound till the 2 cats hit each other. It just is an awesome choice to do that. It gives me shivers each time.
Yea it’s a great effect for the battle
There’s also a kind of heartbeat where everything else cuts out. It’s an excellent choice
The flying lion is the older version of Narnia. Benji was not tripping. ❤ the reaction!
Thank you! Haha
The costuming holds up so well!!! And the sound design for the fight scene is awesome!
Absolutely!
This was my first movie I saw with James McAvoy in it and it was a very confusing crush for me. Thankfully I saw him in another move shortly afterwards and I felt better. He’s hot. It’s not the goat thing, lol.
😄😄
"It's not the goat thing" made me laugh harder than it should have
Omg same! All my friends were crushing on the big brother and I'm over here falling in love with Mr. Tumnus! I was sooo embarrassed, I never told anyone 😂

i'm just sad that benji doesn't like caspian tbh. no but in all seriousness i was so happy to see you guys reacting to this, its one of my childhood faves!

that would be such a throwback
I second this! I LOVE the BBC versions!
Heck yeah!!
Is it the animated one with the super creepy tumnus in the purple suit?
The Professor at the end, after being told that he won't believe the kids, says "try me." This is clever because he's been to Narnia too.

Fun fact - the actor for Edmund (Skandar Keynes) is no longer an actor is actually a political advisor for the conservative party in the UK, and he’s also the great great great grandson of Charles Darwin
the first thing is not a fun fact, it's a stomach-turning fact 🤢
@@subtlesraf grow up. The Conservative Party sucks but Skandar himself is a very intelligent guy, went to university and did Middle Eastern studies. Could’ve collected easy money through acting put decided to pursue something he’s passionate about.

ok conservatives are the bane of the earth but a quick glance at his wiki shows that his interest in politics is mainly to do with peace in the middle east given his lebanese heritage and wildlife conservation. both things, in my opinion, are worthy causes. maybe hes done more that would require more scrutiny that im not aware of but from the surface he doesn’t seem that bad.
@@friendlyneighborhoodbastar3723 what I tried to point out in my comment above
I remember when this movie came out when I was little before Christmas. That Christmas my mom bought Turkish delight and it was so special. She made it a tradition and gets it every year for Christmas to this day. It is softer than a jujube, like a soft gel covered in powdered sugar, the only flavour we like is lemon.
That's an AMAZING tradition
This movie literally came out when I was nine years old. Now at 27 I leave my house for work with “One day!!!!” In my head. That song has literally been stuck in my brain that long.
😂😂😂
not Benji saying that 2005 is old school and then i remember i’m 23 and its 2023 and he is in fact right. 2005 is old school 😭
yup. feel old now hahaha
Growing up, it would play on TV all the time and every time I watched, it was still a fun adventure.

The part that disturbed me as a kid and still does, is when you see that the witch has turned the goat guy into stone (don’t know his actual name) and how we see his face of pure agony and fear. Horrifying!! 😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰
This movie was literally my childhood
The time based explanations were just absolutely brilliant 😂
😂😂 thank you
Even now Aslan's CGI looks awesome! 🤩
It does!!
More trivia: when Lucy (Georgie Henley) was crying at Mr Tumnus turned to stone, she was actually distressed at seeing the image of James McEvoy in so much pain… Georgie & James had become real close friends by this time during shooting. It was easy for Georgie to grieve for James.
I was not expecting you guys reacting to this movie but I'm so here for it.I watched it a lot growing up and to this day if I see a big closet I will walk in and check just in case 😂
bwahahahahaha
I first watched this a couple weeks ago and I screamed "SNATCH HER WEAVE" when I saw the white witch 😂
😂
The professor actually sees Narnia being created and as the book series goes on, you can see Narnia getting older and older until you see the end of Narnia. Just like the Earth is getting older too.
Ooooohhh
I am just starting the audiobooks for narnia and they’re so good! One of the narrators was Kenneth Branagh and another is Patrick Stewart!
Fun facts:
Georgie Henley's (Lucy) first reaction to Narnia is genuine.
Actually had crush on all of them at some point lol
Mr. Tumnus tho 👀 hi 👋 😂

4:58 wow this reminds me that I think the professor was present at Narnia’s inception?!
*Oneeeeee dayyyyyyyyyy *😂😂😂 literally my favorite movie as a kid. I got the behind the scenes book for Christmas one year 😅
That’s so cool!
The "flying" bit you're thinking of Benji is from the book... when Aslan and the girls go to the castle he jumps across the lake.
🤯
I had the biggest crush on William Moseley (Peter) when this movie came out. I was 13. I even watched "The Royals" where he played a Prince of England. I have a thing for white men with British accents.
Hahah I feel like I might have crushed on him as a prince
right now that i'm an adult he's very meh so i feel like Benji just missed out lol
The first interaction between the White Witch and Edmund always made me think of the tale of Hansel and Gretel (even when I was 4 or 5).

Ok but does anyone else remember the Narnia exhibit Disney did at Hollywood Studios? It was so cool! You literally got to walk through the wardrobe and go to Narnia with the lampost, Tumnus’s house, and the cracked the stone table. They also had the costumes on display.
That sounds so cool! We missed that
There was something about James McAvoy in this movie that peaked my interest lol but I crushed hard on Edmond in the second movie, 10 y/o me was in love.
Yeah, apparently in the BBC version he flies lol also, there’s a flying lion in the stop motion Rudolph movie 😂
🙌🙌
i wish they'd react to the next two (Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawntreader) too
Aslan allowing Susan and Lucy to walk with him before he sacrifices himself is kinda like in the Bible when Jesus asks the disciples to pray and stay with him before he's taken by the Roman soldiers.
It's a moment that shows you that even though Aslan is powerful enough to be able to come back, he's also a creature with very human feelings and he's kinda scared of doing this alone.
Please watch the rest of these films! Loved the video ❤
I know there is no such thing as a 100% perfect but the chronicles of Narnia, defy all laws of understanding. The world of narnia is such beautiful, magical and fantastical yet easy to understand and flow along with the story. It has everything, dragons, pirate ships, mermaid, talking animals, princesses, witches, *lions and tigers and bears*
I think everyone should at least read one the books at least once in their lifetime, its life changing truly.
I also hated Edmond in this movie but I had a crush on him in the other two movies😂
Nice turn around for Ed lol
I 100% sat up and went HELLO when I saw Edmund in the 2nd movie. He was always my favorite in the books.
