D is for DON’T FORGET THE TETHER!!

In Canada 🇨🇦 it’s the law to use them
In USA 🇺🇸 it’s NOT because We Don’t Care About The Children™. Regardless, if your seat HAS a tether you should absolutely use it…and here’s why: tethers are one of THE most important parts of installing a forward-facing seat because they help reduce FORWARD HEAD EXCURSION. Tether use can decrease a child’s head movement forward by 4-6 inches, and this can prevent that noggin from hitting the driver/passenger seat, the door, or other passengers. Watch this video for some KNOWLEDGE. Sidenote: some rear-facing seats use tethers, so make sure you READ THAT
was made standard for passenger vehicles to have THREE tether positions and TWO Lower Anchor positions.
