I can't stop watching this video. It is a wonderful thing to enjoy Seth Avett, a Southern born white man, sing a song written by Sam Cooke and his feelings during The Civil Rights Movement in 1963. Indeed, Mr. Cooke. Indeed.

He is so beautiful inside and out. this song brings me to the realization that i can carry on no matter what is knocking me down. its songs like these that Seth sings that makes me feel this freedom and acceptance is real in my life. his way of singing is a blessing on all our hearts. All his work is so sensitive and meaningful. All the Avetts work is always a lovely reminder of the confidence and beauty with in all of us.

The Avett Brothers sincerely have the kindest hearts out of anyone you'll ever meet. That is the only reason why it is so acceptable that someone could easily spend a lot of money on a piano played by them, because they are so honest and good hearted. Keep doing what you do boys :)

  • @JillianDunn

The joy on his face at 2:18 that carries the rest of the song to its end is magical. To be that free. In the moment and in the song. That is pure.

One thing that I honestly don't think can EVER be said about an Avett is commenting on their lack of soul. Please learn something about this man, his music, his life and then come back and talk about him singing with soul. Just because he doesn't have a huge voice doesn't mean that he isn't singing with depth.
