Roundabouts don't appear to work in update 5. You cannot connect two Y junctions on the same end point. You can make a 3 way split in rail junctions now. Between point switches you need at least a minimum length section of track (1.5 to 2 foundations).
I love how all your builds are always super clean and so esthetically pleasing. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch and full of great tips and ideas to try out.
I'm in the process of finishing my HMF and computer factory so I can finally get into fuel generators, and obviously trains. Everytime I get into something new it's exciting, but also nerve racking. Definitely glad for these videos and being spoiled enough to know that signaling is coming and I can prepare for it. Can't wait to see that video
Did something change in the game since this video was created? I'm trying to make a T-junction like in the video and can't even get one turn, with the game claiming that it is "too sharp."
Hey, TurboXclipse, I would like to give credit to your older Train Junctions guide for helping me build T-Junctions and Roundabouts for my train network. I can’t wait to see the next video in your train guide series. Also, since I’m an American, I personally use the right-hand traffic for my builds.
I can't find the video you posted it in, but you had designed a pillar that housed a wall outlet "inside" of it so you could not only support a train, but possibly run conveyors alongside the train. Would you happen to know what video it was you showed this in? It was only a 5 second or so clip in it, but I'd love to see foundations for trains that have multiple purposes like this.
With having over 100 hours on this game I for some weird reason had a procrastinating fear of trains, I watched this video and all of a sudden have 3 loops built with a redesign of my central storage in place... Thank you for making it so simple
That's not strictly true as I mention in this video, it depends on if you use a slip track for a train waiting, along side the main track, but the best option is to have twin tracks. :)
My problem is with the railtracks. Mine looks so janky on bends even when I try to make them look "right". Some of them looks so bad on different elevations that idk how yall make it look good. I even tried that circle thing on the start of this video going from a higher elevation to lower but mine doesnt look as good as that. The curves always angles out instead of a smooth curve and the difference in elevation breaks the smooth angle. Its like going from \ to __ instead of a constant \
Hey TotalXclipse. Awesome videos. Really helps me a lot as to what is possible. Should this 6x6 roundabout still be possible in update 5 as it wont let me connect the inbounds and outbound's. it goes red and says "to close to another switch". Is there a connection order that I missed in the video?
That's incredibly hard to recreate even with jetpack and even worse with foundation floating very high above the construction site and the hardest one using watchtowers, no freakin pleasure for you noclip hater :D
hey totalxclipse, I'm fairly new to satisfactory but I've been trying to find some mods and sadly you don't have any links to the mods you use, the main one I wanted to ask about is the one where you can build alot of platforms (I found the zoop mod and smart! mod but they don't allow you to build both ways at the same time (as in like 8x6, on the mods I found you can only make platforms like 1x9 or 9x1 long). thank you aswell and keep up the good work :)
8:50 There was a patch in update 4 that made it so you can connect an infinite(or at least I saw no limit) amount of rails in a junction. (You can also see this because when you connect more then 2 tracks to a junction and use the track switcher, there are more positions then left and right.(There isn't an infinite amount of positions though))
Damn - been waiting for years for them to animate train junctions or at least fix them to where the train wheels don't clip through the tracks. Looks like I'll be waiting years more :(
1:25 trains have more throughput than conveyors... emm... no they don't... considering you need conveyors to put stuff IN and take stuff OUT of a train is done with... conveyors. The "ideal" from a logistics and efficiency POV for transportation method is just conveyors from one end of the map to the other. The advantage of trains is that they offer bulk transportation without the need to build a dozen belts from one base to the other. But if you want reliability, predictability and best throughput... belts is the way to go.

Thank-you Simon. I thought I was doing something wrong as I get the "to close to another switch" error
Right side is the right side to travel on! :D
But the right side, is the left side?
@@TotalXclipse i guess if you look in the mirror :D
Was there collision when this video came out? Does that crossing still work?

Ikr.. all my build is always end up in spaghetti mess
sadly this build no longer works with roungabouts. the signal gets in the way and wont let me snap it like you did. i tried for hours.

Thank you so much! Trains are a bit of a headache to get into and this helps a lot

can’t wait for the architectural design! i’m planning on doing an old Paddington station inspired design for my new play through
Awesome video! As always straight to the point, practical, easy to understand. I'll definitely use these techniques to improve train performance.

Can’t wait for the signals, will maybe make stuff a bit easier

Nice! Thank you - havent really gone back to the game since Update 4, but I think I'll give it a go just to streamline my rail lines ;)

im sorry its been a while, ive been going through some stuff. but im back now!! nice to see (hear) you tom!
Hope you're well :)
I just hope drone can deliver fluid
So I can skip train and be lazy lol
Can you make a video on how to use spreadsheets to keep your world organized?
Thanks for the tutorial. How do you get this god view?
Ty man, help me a lot, waiting for the next video.
Thank you Ive watched alot of videos and your was the most helpful and informative explaining it so it was understandable
nice video, just before update 5 :)
Who gave thumbs down, I wanna fight
With signals and collisions coming folk will need to train themselves to twin track rather than make a single lazy line

The always need to drive on the right side. It has a purpose that it's called "right side" and not "wrong side".
my rail not working right can you help?

My god I hate those junktions aesthetically XD it gives me ocd when I see those trains cliping the wheels on the junktions
Well done
I made my first roundabout a few days ago, but for some reason the train has to take an entire loop before exiting. Anyone know how I can fix that?
awesome, I still have a hard time with trains. The why you've done it, looks amazing.
Love your videos. So much good information!
Please give my your sa e this game
Please give my train save pleaaaaase

Check out area actions for building grids like that ;)

I totally missed that update, I'm just playing with it now - I'll need to mention that in the next video :D
Thanks!
Certainly worthy of a like. 😀
How to make two street lights stand on the same spot to make it look like a single street light with two heads?
It's in the most recent video, or if you just want to see a clip, check out my twitter, I just posted it on there
Just want I wanted, thank you!
Choo Choo. great guide total
*laughs in update 5*
This is out of date. Update 5 has changed a lot.
yep. they ruined everything

OOOOOOOOO
That's cool.
maybe kinda "stupid" as we mayyyy get an update on train in update 5 (which i hope)
If we do this will quickly get outdated
Totally disagree :D people asked for it now, and if trains are totally changed I can do a new video, if not I can just expand on it with signals
@@TotalXclipse true :D
