3060 Ti is 30% faster than 3060. I mean i expected maybe 10 % difference but 30%? That is huge difference. Better save money for 3060Ti when they come in stock in 2026.

So basically for 18% more of the price you could upgrade to a 3060ti and get around 30% more performance....what a terrible value proposition the 3060 is at msrp
Yeah and I think nvidia knows this which is why the 3060ti has only 8gb of vram to push people to buy the 3060 for longevity ( if the ti model was available and had 10 or 12gb , I think it would age better than 10series gpus )

Just try to save some money each week or each month and by the time RTX 4000 gets out in the market you should be able to afford one atleast a 4050-4060 thats for sure and since its like atleast a year or more till RTX4000 series arrives all you need is patience (and of course no more stock problems to worrry about (i hope lol)).

Great idea showing the gpu's power with percentages also. Somtimes the numbers are really hard to compare at the same time, so this is certainly helpful, makes for a clearer comparison.
I went from a 970 in my 2500k to a 3060. Its a big big leap. Its also the fourth card I've had in this machine. Early 2011 and im still rocking it in late 22. That would be UNTHINKABLE in the 00s and 90s. Tech has kinda slowed down and thankfully so.
I am going to wait like 5 to 10 years to get a new GPU. Maybe by then all this fuckery with mining and overpricing is over.

Recently upgraded from a GTX 1050 to an RTX 3060, very happy with the card for 1080p 144hz gaming! If you planning on gaming at 1440p I do recommend holding off until you can get your hands on a 3060ti or 3070.
if you're looking for the same 120hz gaming I'd agree, but otherwise no. if you use high or a bled of medium and high settings with a 3060 at 1440p it's almost overkill if you're going for 60fps

Just got ordered a PC with an RTX 3060. 3060 TI would've been nice but I'm sticking to 1080p not even going to 1440p so I doubt the difference the two cards will be very noticable to my eyes. I do wonder what the difference between the card's performance is when it comes to 1080p video editing which I was more concerned with but couldn't find too much information on.

A 2070 for 1080p (or 1440p in lesser demanding titles) will do just fine. With a g-sync monitor even better, so you shouldn't have any worries for the next 5 year or so.

@@nearrawr A little late but I bought a 3060 because it was all I could get. Im no where near disappointed. I'd recommend it. I run 1080p on ultra settings at 144hz on read dead 2 with no problems at all. For me its more than enough. I also have a 4k monitor that I run the same game on a series x at 4k 120hz and other that being brighter, I hardly notice better texturing while imersed in the game.
Yeah but in real terms the 3060ti is now £200 more that the 3060 and that's just in pre-builts.
As a 2070 owner, I’m so happy you guys compared this to the card it claims to have the power of, while also comparing it to the 1060/2060 it’s replacing! I wanted to know if I was getting screwed by a budget card.

Interesting about DLSS 720p native at 1080p / 60hz output with full Ray Tracing. That'll be enormously popular I feel.
DF is too mild. Conclusion should be. Do NOT buy. I totally agree with Not An Apple Fan. ‘It’s not fast enough’ not even at msrp. Should be much closer to a 2080 performance. 30% slower than a 3060Ti like wtf. Buy a console instead.

Also, in most games the 1070 is half as powerful as the 3060. The 1060 is worse than the 1070, so the 1060 is much much weaker than the 3060. It's a considerable upgrade, more than double the fps
I got a MSI 3060 Ti Trio gaming. Very happy with it and seems like a perfect 1440p-card. Ultra on all older games, works fine with VR and Ultra or High with Raytracing On. Never gets over 70 celsius and very quiet. Was surprised it was so easy to find one in Sweden, without prebooking.
I'd like to see how this and its added RAM performs with VR titles such as Half Life Alyx. This is the new entry level GPU for this generation and my hope is that this gets more people capable of those necessarily high PCVR framerates.

Oh they're out there, just too bad scalpers have more of the 3060's than any of the retailers. Those damned people are why you can't get your hands on one, or anyone else for that matter. I seen two 3060's on the local Facebook Marketplace selling for $650 a piece. Sadly, some moron will give this scumbag his asking price. $650 3060's go well with all of the $900 and $1000 PS5's.
The sad thing is a lot of places are selling these cards way above the MSRP to take advantage of the mining boom.

I currently own an OC 1060 and I'm in the market for a 30-series card but I want it to atleast have 10gb, idealy 12 gb of VRam, which currently only the 3080 is providing if I'm not mistaken. It's bizarre to me that they equip the 3060 with 12 but the 3060 TI is still having 8 to boot. Anyways I think its good news how far NVidia has come in these past 2 Gen of cards and I'm looking forward to upgrading once time and price align as I'm really hyped for Pathtracing and DLSS down the line. I'm not sure if MC Direct Storage is already available on PC yet but thats probably gonna be great too =)

To not even be able to double performance over my 1070 FE 4.5 years later despite it being a very similar price point. The 3080 and 3060ti are the only products in the stack that make sense.

The problem is that many (if not all) small/medium sellers have become scalpers themselves.

Nvidia's insane gaslighting of the GPU market, trying to spin the GTX 1060 as a $300+ card, is absolutely wild. It was always around $250 at most, closer to $200.
They deserve no applause for pushing the market price higher and higher, while offering less and less upgrades for the cheaper cards. Not being able to hit RTX 2070 performance just seals the deal: this card sucks.

@@7evive Yes. You'll never get me back to PC gaming thanks to Nvidia and my Series X. The power and performance of my Series X for £450 makes these cards look comedic. Playing the Division 2 at 4K60 with HDR is just wonderful. Not to mention The Division 2 is free too lol - and that's just one example. I hope Nvidia and intel burn. AMD aren't much better either but they ARE better.

Really wanted to try get a rtx2070 used for around 300ish but I got a W on the evga black 3060 coming in mail on Monday so I’m not mad about the performance at all.
I keep looking at such op and pricy gpu’s, but in reality I believe I would be perfectly happy with ~100 fps with the 3060.

I was waiting for the experts to review this 😏 I'm a GTX 1060 6gb owner so this card is quite compelling, although it looks to be a bit disappointing. I hoping for RTX 2070 Super-ish performance but it doesn't look like that'll cut it.

I think the most interesting thing for this card is how it performs compared to PS5 and series X. Does DLSS allow you to play games a 4k with console level settings.

Really glad I managed to secure my Series X at RRP at this point. Even though I prefer PC, securing a GPU seems outrageously hard at the moment, yet alone buying all the other components necessary for a new rig. The current scalper/crypto market cost even for a mid range rig must be in the thousands at this point
You can generally get all the other components easy and close to msrp. Atleast in the UK.

LOL, PC gaming is dead at this point. It's been months and i can't buy anything and it just gets worse. My friend can't even buy any desktop for more than 5 months here now. He is without a computer for almost half a year in the computer age. He has the money but nobody sells anything on ANY decent price.

i play with my 1060 valhalla all high 1080p on 1440p monitor and it plays almost perfect but i want 3060ti however

R5 2060 + 1060, a bit bottlnecked by the GPU honestly, it 90+ % utilisation in RDR2, while my procerssor just running arounf 50- 60 % utilitsation max

The founders edition cards for the 3000 series were such beautiful things. They were the first PC components I thought actually looked good, elegant & clean.

@@Gravy1255 the thing is, RTX is quite VRAM heavy, so if future games has wider RTX implementation, the 8gb is what gonna be limiting it, esp on 1440 and 4K.
@@MuhammadKharismawan I know that is what I said, but the 3060 isn't a 4k card so why does it have 12gbs? the 3060ti makes more sense for 12gbs since the 3060 was marketed towards 1080p.

Come on guys this card is new to the market. Even the current version is beast, but when the new driver's arrive you will realize that it really is the 30 series. Nvidia not gonna waste 12gb vram for sure.
RTX 3000 series cards, PS5s, and XBSXs are like angels at this point. People say they exist but nobody has actually seen one.
So glad I bought a 2070 super a year ago for 400$. Really wanted to wait just another 6 months for the next gen but didn't. Hopefully dlss can help carry my card for the next couple years. Just like I would if I had to settle for a 3060 now.....
Honestly, PC gaming is dead for my at this moment. I feel like I'll be with my 970forever because I don't see the end of this sh*tty situation. I'll buy a PS5 in a couple of years, I have other things to do. for me, retro gaming is the way to go now.

Looks like I'll be sticking with my Asus STRIX 1070 Ti OC Advanced Binned. About 3 years old, $240 Amazon clearance new and still kicks butt in most games that I like to play. I have an ultrawide 1080p monitor and take full advantage of DSR on that monitor.
This supply demand for graphics cards is ridiculous.
NVidia has no shame. They want the situation to stay exactly as it is. Every card gets sold.
1080p cards should be $199 - $239 max in 2021.

flashing the bios to a 240w TDP one with a nice OC, disabling spectre and meltdown protection (better for older cpu) and disabling control flow guard pushed performance to near 85% stock 3060ti FPS . Now we have framegen mods with FSR 3 also its even better. With the price difference and the extra frame buffer, im happy with my choice
I wanted to be a baller and get a nicer card, but I am still pumped for my 3060. Installing it next week. 😀 970 to 3060 should be pretty nice

I'm glad AMD's 6xxx has forced Nvidia's hand to include more vram into their cards now.

Love DF and love having reviews for products before they go on sale, but afaik release drivers aren't out till sometime today which could affect this card a lot. That is unless DF got access to these drivers.

You need to test a different scenario for dirt rally 2.0 im talking about a map like argentina at night in the wet.. or just a wet map in general with crowds about. It performs different to what your showing here. I notice a huge change in performance on my 2070 super at 3440x1440 in that situation than these dry tracks in new zealand and australia.
I definitely need a 30 series once I get back into the states later this year. But watch them all be scalped by that time. 😔

This 3060 isn't much better than my 2060 which isn't much better than my brother's 1070 in pure performance. If you're not going to be able to get one until later this year you should just wait. I bet the 4000 series or whatever comes out next year, plus the new sockets for Intel and AMD will start later this year or next year. Just think about how much better you'll have things if you wait!

I wish they could somehow simulate the effects of dlss in non tensor cores cards.
It's a bit of a disappointment, TBH. For the price, I was expecting it to come in more in line with a 2070 super, than the 2070. The 3060ti is a far better deal, especially when it only costs $70 extra (MSRP).

usually the 60s are on par with last gen 80s GPU like the 1060 is very close to a gtx 980 hell the 1080 is slightly faster than a 2060 but the 2060 has tensor cores.

ps5 equivalent gpu is rtx 2070 super, xbox sx rtx 2080 fe like Richard said rtx 3060 is weaker than consoles but with DLSS can have advantage in some case. But AMD works with own Dlss solution when this out both consoles get boost performance.

@@otti3397 man is not on par many videos DF checks that, even in this video Richard said that rtx 3060 is weaker than both consoles. Rtx 3060 can be faster in 1080p with dlss consoles use way higher resolution and don't have Dlss now. Upgrade yours knowledge about hardware, now is very low.

I ordered a 3060 v2 OC for $299 because the Acer A770 I'd bought for $329 earlier this year were back up to $379. When I double-checked a couple days later, I found it for $329 so I ordered it and cancelled the 3060. I'm sure it would have been fine with the games I play, the 1660 Super in my previous rig always performed well.
Definitely not worth 530€ that the retailers turned scalpers ask for.

The memory bandwidth is much less on the 3060 though. 8GB on 3080 performs much better than 12 on 3060.
