  • Hello all!
    Dec. 20th 2024 marked the day I had to make a choice. I chose to take care of my significant other, so I made the decision to close private repair and be closed to the public starting Jan. 1st 2025.
    It has been a wonderful adventure with you all, and who knows, maybe I will put out a few videos here and there in the future.

    You have to use rubber bushings as vibration insulators. That in itself will eliminate most vibration damage

    • @thewhitefamily5515
      @thewhitefamily5515 Місяць тому +2

      @rmyrie5963 truthfully the little rubber bushings used like spacers solve the problem and allow more air to pass under the amp which keeps everything working at a lower temperature = win/win ; )

    I wish you the best doing repairs for manufacturers. Hope you and your family have a great new year!

    Sheeeeit I mount mine under my truck attached to the dangling spare tire so it never overheats and when I play it hard in the rain it cools down SUPER fast. Yall don't know what your missin

    I see so many mount that amp to the box. Never a good idea!

    • @ellensburgamplifier
      @ellensburgamplifier  Місяць тому

      Only as a last resort in my books. There are steps one can take if they have to mount the amplifiers on enclosures but many just don't consider vibration damage. So few understand electrical components and the stresses they endure.

      a properly built enclosure is the strongest thing in your vehicle and will be the only thing in your vehicle that doesnt flex, i have multiple layers of deadener and spray foam everywhere in my explorer and there isnt a single thing that doesnt flex in my truck except my enclosure i set a marble on it and it doesnt not move at all but my doors flap everything under the hood flexes my enclosure is the safest thing to mount my amp to and im a no wall so im not sealed off anywhere

    • @NickMillerlouisiana
      @NickMillerlouisiana Місяць тому

      @@michaelstewart426 yeah well just how many do you think will do this? Still not ideal to mount on box as sound travels through solids very well to something as an amp board and may cause it to vibrate to the point of breaking and adding vibration mounts doesnt completely eliminate this neither does mounting it other than box there will always be some but id say most people just want to get that bass and maynot take the time to do as your saying just my 2 cents on it. But hey mount your amp were ever you like its not my amp

    Is just regular hot glue ok to use?
    What do you suggest we use
    Also would you warranty an amp that a user has opened up and glued?

    • @ellensburgamplifier
      @ellensburgamplifier  Місяць тому

      Hot glue has a melting point that is too low. I use E6000 or Gorilla Glue clear grip adhesive. I am not the one who approves or delines warranties so I can't say that a warranty would be honored.

  • @eversoul43

    10k is going to make things vibrate.

    • @thewhitefamily5515
      @thewhitefamily5515 Місяць тому +1

      @eversoul43 true as the spl goes up vibration goes up but polar opposite from everything else in the vehicles you almost want the amps to float otherwise you are right the vibration will eventually ruin something. I been bassin since I was 16 and I am 46 now and did a build for fosgate in late 90s and did a sweet ct sounds build in my son's jeep about a yr ago. 2 12in meso subs powered by the at 1400.1. Slams pretty good. Nothing like my blazer back in the late 90s w 4 12s JL audio spl at 151. But I would guess the jeep spls about 145 maybe 147. The difference between 145 n 150 is so massive it's the difference of having your wiper blades bounce off the windshield and change flying out of cup holders vs just making the drinks wiggle in the cup holders lol so unless someone is almost at the 150 spl I personally have never had any issues with electronics breaking due to vibration. Now if you don't use vibration insulators when you reach 150+ I'm sure damage could be possible. But we have been using rubber gromets/bushings while mounting amps since the 90s here in Chicagoland area.

    • @eversoul43
      @eversoul43 Місяць тому

      @thewhitefamily5515 I'm novice at best. 3 2k RMS 12s on a 7k amp, but at .67 ohm close to 11k. + 45 ah CMAX + 500 farad ultra cap. Did rear seat delete subs firing at ft seats. Amps bolted down in trunk area. I'm only at jiggled cups and slight wind. Amps doing okay, but yeah 150+ can only imagine the damage. Especially over time.

    • @thewhitefamily5515
      @thewhitefamily5515 Місяць тому +1

      @eversoul43 it takes a lot of tinkering. Try firing the subs towards the rear. In my old daytona it made a huge difference and in the blazer w 4 12s I had 2 firing rear and 2 angled upwards with all 4 ports firing up. Aiming subs to rear is almost always a benefit

    • @eversoul43
      @eversoul43 Місяць тому

      @@thewhitefamily5515 wanted to fire up but box wouldn't fit that way. I like a lot of kick drum bass so forward firing is fine even if I could get louder on rolling bass. It's still ridiculous. I don't go to demo shows. Live in a small Texas golf/ retirement community. No doubt rear fire could get me extra numbers, but I just like "rolling hard" to the grocery store and carwash pretty much. 🙂

    Hey Tod , I’m new to your channel I have a Qsc Gx5 I had bought it from a guy for 350 buck off Facebook marketplace he had promised me everything worked and when I said if I could test it he said he had no electricity and the reason why he’s selling it cause he’s short on cash to pay his bills and i didn’t think much of it and I was ok everything probably works but when I got home and turned on both of the channel were clipped and when I confronted him he blocked me and just ghosted me .Do you know if anything would go wrong and what could cause the it to go out ? Please it would be really helpful if you would give me an idea of what it would be .

    • @ellensburgamplifier
      @ellensburgamplifier  Місяць тому

      If I remember right QSC is 110v equipment. At least the last QSC amp I had in was from a sound stage. Unfortunately, your amplifier will need to be serviced as it may have bad output transistors or a failed protection circuit.
