    I was on Guam from 1991-1995 and I have to say that it was the most beautiful place I have ever been. This video brought back fond memories. I had the most fun in my life during the four years I was on the island. Would love to go back again someday. It is definitely on my bucket list! Great video and love the soundtrack.

    Great tour of the south end of Guam! I was stationed at the Navel Station 1969-70. Spent a lot of time in Merizo “working” on my off hours renting sail boards and pulling people water skiing. Tried to find that dock, but unsure of the location these days. Thanks for the trip back!

    you know,, I'm on my second time through with this,, and what occurs to me is the amount of time you flew,,(and batteries) I think you have many drones,, but this is a real feat to accomplish, I tried to do this on a river in Colorado,,I got about 3 miles of continues flight line,,, thanks for doing this,, its a great view of many places,,

    • @guamdrone
      @guamdrone  4 роки тому

      Thank you. I brought 2 drones, but only used one. I think I was on my fifth battery by the time I finished the journey.

    • @BjEddy1
      @BjEddy1 4 роки тому

      @@guamdrone thank you for that, I was going to guess a bit higher on the battery count,, it is quite a journey

    • @guamdrone
      @guamdrone  4 роки тому +1

      @@BjEddy1 This flight took a fair bit of planning. I printed a map of Guam and used Google Earth to chart ground elevations throughout the loop. I created notes and altitude gates for me to adhere to so I wouldn't exceed 400 feet AGL. With the rising and descending terrain you may find yourself flying right into the ground or exceeding the max altitude limit. I had to make the max altitude in the settings higher than 400 feet on this day. The software only knows the altitude you were at during takeoff. It doesn't know if you are following terrain elevation changes.

      I have a mavic air 2 bro..can it fly like that too?im new to a drone..any tip for a begginer where to fly in guam?

    • @guamdrone
      @guamdrone  4 роки тому

      @@markantipolo3946 I'm not too familiar with the Mavic Air 2. I think it has similar battery life. I know it has less ability to customize controls, but you can probably get a fairly similar experience. It is smaller, so it will be worse in windy conditions. And it's always windier the higher you fly. Your camera's sensor is smaller, but it can do 4k 60 fps. As far as where to fly you should educate yourself on the rules and restrictions. Some places you will need to request FAA permission through an app. I needed FAA permission for the beginning of this video. This is not the same as DJI's geofencing. There are a few good drone apps out there to have for weather and airspace (B4UFLY, AirMap, UAV Forecast, etc). There are lots of UA-cam videos out there to help guide you through the new rules and information resources that came with the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. Here are some of the basics until you learn more info. Don't fly within 5 miles of an airport. Don't fly while standing in a national park or wildlife refuge. Don't fly above 400 feet above the ground. Don't fly in clouds or outside of line-of-site. Don't fly at night. Don't fly over crowds. Use common sense. Don't buzz people or houses. You need to register the drone with the FAA and affix the number to the drone. If you wish to do any kind of commercial work (even commercialized UA-cam Videos) you will need to acquire a Part 107 FAA certificate. The FAA has been going after drone pilots by looking on UA-cam. Plus, just practice. Watch other big drone UA-cam channels for tips. Try to be slow and steady on controls. Try to think in three dimensions. Eventually your brain will think where you want the drone to go and how it should go and your fingers will just do it. That's a good goal anyway. Good luck and have fun!

      Guam is not for everyone... if you want city life , Guam is definitely not the place for you.. worked and lived in 3 continents including Europe (Germany) 🇩🇪 ... nothing can beat Guam... I lived here close to quarter a century.... I loved every minute of it... you can find almost everything nowadays here especially high end items like LVuitton etc... it’s a secret place of America in Asia... hated living in big cities like NY, Tokyo, Paris or Madrid or London... lived in CONUS , in the EastCoast in the 80’s.. 👻

      I agree with you. There is a lack of Pacific Island music available on the the subscription music platforms for creators. I have reached out to them requesting it. I've also attempted to to work with local musicians on paying for using their music. I almost never get a reply. Since this channel is associated with a commercial business it will not be using the "free" music you can find on youtube, as it would violate the terms of usage. For the very few times I was able to buy a license from a local artist, it was used in a paid production for a customer. The public just see's non-commercial works on this channel. Although, a business may buy a license to use footage posted here.
