As a kid growing up, in the spring we would get our fishing poles out and stretch out the line between a tree and let it sit for a while to get the memory out. Throw line anti-memory trick seems very similar. I picked up a throw line a bit ago that I'm going to do your stretch out method with it. Good advice!
I run it straight out. pull as I mean it. then go back to the start point and pinch in my fingers and walk back to the end. Pull again and then repeat one more time. Running your fingers online removes the twists. Then coil into throw bag. Had great luck doing it this way. Way fewer knots.
Good video, I like the bowline aswell on the throw ball, But if it's an ash or elm I usually use the anchor hitch, Takes more time but getting that loop snagged sucks. 👊
I second that ! Someone out there showed that you can make an anchor hitch quick release, by passing a loop through at the end, instead of feeding the end through. I dress that loop real small, ( less snag-able, of course ) and it's good to leave a decent length of tail, to grab and pull....in case it's tight.
A great tip, I miss this guy.
Great tip as well as your others on your channel!!
Thanks Joe
Thanks Ted! No problem
