Yeah, the pure tone that is heard is called shruthi in classical music. Every singer is made to practice with it, so that their pitch never wavers. After a point, that shruthi rings in your head whenever you start to sing. Every singer has a different pitch, so their trainers choose an appropriate shruthi for each person.

Every Indian singer practices (riyaz) everyday for hours accompanied by either harmonium or taanpura. This gives us that precision of notes that you are referring to. Raags are combinations of different notes, emitting emoting & evoking different emotions. Every raag also represents a certain hour of the day, which is represented by the notes (sargam) combination.

Soo the sine wave... we have those when we learn classic carnatic music. It's one of the first step when you learn Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Da Ni Sa which is the Indian version of Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do
that signwave is one of the basic modes of practice in Indian vocal training, you have a tanpura constantly playing in the background and you practice your vocals

I really appreciate that. And also I love love love that you're so fascinated by Indian music and their singers. Those people are very talented and personally I think that there are only few singers that are able to sing perfectly and beautiful when singing live / without any autotune - but they are able to do so. That instrument in the background you heard is called as tanpura, it helps us to stay in the scale you choose, so eventually we kind of tune our minds listening to to it. We adjust the scales to certain notes which is present in the Raag we practice, like some ragas have certain notes omitted, so our tanpura instrument could be adjusted accordingly.

Hi Justin. Can I request, please please please make a reaction video of "PAUBAYA". Moira Dela Torre is the singer and producer with her husband Jason who also co-wrote the song. It is about a couple for a long time before they broke up. It took maybe one year to see each other and agreed to do the music video and it also became their closure song.
