Sonu Nigam has ultimate level of control over his voice.... He can not only sing... But can mimic other voices and sing in other voices... He really is human auto tune... Its all his years and years of practice

Yes, that is Tanpura in the last clip. We are trained to sing with Tanpura to develop pitch accuracy in Hindustani Classical Music :)

Yeah , In Indian Classical Music , the singer practice by using one sine wave generally set at "C Major" , in local language here it is called "Tanpura"

Yeah, the pure tone that is heard is called shruthi in classical music. Every singer is made to practice with it, so that their pitch never wavers. After a point, that shruthi rings in your head whenever you start to sing. Every singer has a different pitch, so their trainers choose an appropriate shruthi for each person.
Sonu Nigam is a all time legend and Arijit Singh is the singer to whom people of India listen the most these days
Most of them are champions of Indian classical music, 1000s of hours of practice, e.g. Sonu Nigam, arjit singh and many more

@@siddhantsingh237 no brother actually he learnt just 1-2 years of formal training of classical music from a ustad then he left it. He is mostly self-trained. He himself said this in a recent episode of super singer.
Javed Ali and Shankar Mahadevan are more trained in classical music than Arijit and Sonu

Well not everyone in Bollywood are classical trained but some legend like shreya ghoshal, sunidhi chouhan,sonu nigametc.

@@shivangjoshi4931 Not at first. But she trained and learned classical music after she realized her limitations and not getting the desired results despite initial recognition. She said that in an interview. Talent too needs polish..

It said she trained with Gautam Mukharji before she got work for the movie Mast on Sonu Nigam's recommendation.
"“Meri Aawaz Suno” on the DD National in 1996, where I bagged the “Lata Mangeshkar Trophy” for the best female singer of India. However, it was only thereafter my real struggle began despite receiving a national recognition and even cutting a solo album with the HMV, “Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira” that didn’t click big as per expectations. Realizing my limitation I got a formal training in classical singing from Gautam Mukherjee. Hence after a brief lull despite giving forgettable playback for some movies, I got an overnight fame with the songs of movie “Mast” including its title track"

Every Indian singer practices (riyaz) everyday for hours accompanied by either harmonium or taanpura. This gives us that precision of notes that you are referring to. Raags are combinations of different notes, emitting emoting & evoking different emotions. Every raag also represents a certain hour of the day, which is represented by the notes (sargam) combination.
I'm in love with Arijit Singh. ❤️ also, why did they include people like dhwani Bhanushali but not legends like kk and Mohit Chauhan. why is Mohit Chauhan never included. he's just as big a legend as Arijit. have you guys forgotten he gave us the rockstar album, because that's literally enough to worship him for eternity.

He was talking about the song/style of song from Sonu, he knows Sonu lol. That's why he mentioned the precision and spoke about him familiarly afterwards. And he's the screen cap for their video.
You should explore Sunidhi Chauhan more. React to her performance of Tauba Tauba at Indian idol or her performance at Hum Awards or something Justin. Studio version of her songs too.

They practice to the sound from a Tanpura.. which is what produced the sinewaves
Soo the sine wave... we have those when we learn classic carnatic music. It's one of the first step when you learn Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Da Ni Sa which is the Indian version of Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do

The instrument is called a Tanpura.. Or "Shruti box". It's used in classical music training.

Tanhai is my favorite since forever like songs come and go but this one is still the best one ❤️
That instrument in the background you heard is called as tanpura, it helps us to stay in the scale you choose, so eventually we kind of tune our minds listening to to it.
We adjust the scales to certain notes which is present in the Raag we practice, like some ragas have certain notes omitted, so our tanpura instrument could be adjusted accordingly.

hey Justin, I've been watching some of your videos for a few months now and I just wanted to tell you how amazing it is for me that you're also reacting to Indian singers and you are not only focused on western singers/melodies/songs. I really appreciate that. And also I love love love that you're so fascinated by Indian music and their singers. Those people are very talented and personally I think that there are only few singers that are able to sing perfectly and beautiful when singing live / without any autotune - but they are able to do so. Almost all of them. I just wish Indian singers would get the recognition they deserve, all over the world. So, thank you for recording these videos.

that signwave is one of the basic modes of practice in Indian vocal training, you have a tanpura constantly playing in the background and you practice your vocals

Can I request, please please please make a reaction video of "PAUBAYA". Moira Dela Torre is the singer and producer with her husband Jason who also co-wrote the song. It is about a couple for a long time before they broke up. It took maybe one year to see each other and agreed to do the music video and it also became their closure song. It was really beautifully made. The lines between the actors are really their own that's why it is so personal and very meaningful.
I hope you do the reaction with Ms. Lala Main as well. Thank you. Really love your reaction videos and your songs because you're both great singers. ❤️🥰👍
Indian songs are not so easy. You have to maintain every range of scale in one song. It's too difficult for those who just sing songs in one scale.
In the last clip it was a tanpura but it doesn't do anything like going off line or something. The singer has to adjust himself by understanding the note by his own which is the best thing because the singer is picking his own mistakes which makes him/her perfect

There are 2 types of songs classical and folk. Sine wave is used in classical music so yea some of them do practice that. Classical songs are also 2 types one of North one of south they both have diff subsets in it and diff Ragas or pitches used in diff formats of songs originating in diff states. All Ragas or melodies have diff formulas for using them too.
