I'm an old man who grew up with a hybrid American/Japanese upbringing. I know a good bit about Japanese culture. When Toriyama died, the people who worked the closest with him lost their Master, the one who not only created the universe they contributed to, but inspired them. They are grieving and probably feel a bit lost. Take the commercialism out of the equation for a minute. They're hurting. I imagine that Toyotarou is feeling the weight of the world on him right now. So I hope the Dragon Ball Fandom will relax and give these people the time they need. I know they will try to the best of their ability to honor Toriyama's legacy.
Well said. Dragon Ball, may be a franchise, but Toriyama was a person and fans need to respect that them and their desires don't actual matter in the grand scheme of things.

I just wish they would of skipped the superhero arc, since we had a movie and did black frieza. That way the story would of concluded.

Well said. I also can't wait for new db stuff to happen but honestly, I don't think that we get anything db related this year. I wouldn't even be surprised if they delay daima for next year. There is literally no time limit for grieving a loved one and I can imagine Toyotaro being completely overwhelmed by toriyamas death but also by the amount of pressure that is on him right now carrying the franchise on his shoulders without his sensei. We DB fans really need to chill out and give this man and the whole crew some time to breath.
Some people escape to work to numb the grieve but in this case the loved one is connected to the work so I bet the whole team has to find something else to work through their grieve.
Really going to give Daima a chance. Cant wait but low key wanted super to continue 😩

Given that Toriyama has sadly passed away, I'm sure Toei and everyone behind the scenes will want to adapt the rest of Super and any remaining stories created by Toriyama. He had a hand in the Moro and Granolah arcs, so they'll get adapted eventually I'm sure
@@po72644 They’re either gonna go their own way with Super, adapt the manga or adapt the manga but make some severe alterations, because Toyotaro has produced the worst Dragon Ball content I’ve seen yet and it was already an almost entirely different story to begin with, compared to the anime. Until Toyotaro got passed the ToP, he was adapting the anime and films instead of the anime traditionally adapting the manga. I wouldn’t put it past anyone at Toei to decide to do their own thing or make changes for several various reasons.

Gotta be honest, I hope the 5v5 is like before where you get a team of 5 you can switch out with. If it's where all 10 people are on screen at once that's gonna be really bad. Fingers crossed they keep things the same as before.

Geekdom, I was under the impression that the 5v5 mode in Sparking Zero was like how it used to be with only 2 characters on screen at a time and you just switch in and out. Here it seems like you're insinuating that they're all on screen at the same time. Could you clarify?

I personally believe Toriyama has another Super arc wrriten somewhere (maybe even more than one)
Toyotarou confirmed that Toriyama wrote the Super Hero epilogue in the manga with all the fights on Beerus' planet, and even did corrections on the last chapter. That means we were coming to the end of Super Hero regardless his death, and naturally they should have at least drafted or been working on the next arc before he died.
I'll be really suprised if Daima is Toriyama's final story for Dragonball
Maybe not drafts but maybe Toriyama has notes which exist, or at the very least some vague comments/ideas he mentioned to Toyotaro which can be fleshed out.
My bet is a final completed or nearly complete movie script based on his being done with super hero script by early 2021.
I believe it was said that Toriyama has notes all the way to the end of the Black Frieza arc.
Even an outline off a future arc would be a massive win for us.

I feel that after Toriyama's passing, perhaps the fanbase will be more receptive of Daima.
Maybe, I wasn't going to watch then and still am not now so. If anything I kind of hate daima. Instead of DBS anime(which everyone wants more) we get this. He could of passed leaving us a new DBS anime season. That would of been 100xs more hype. F#%@ daima 💯

I heard somewhere that the release date is October 1st, but in my opinion, I think that the reason that there are no confirmed release dates for any of these things because Sasuke might be trying to liquidate some assets to condense everything together and combine his father's funds. If he is going to take over, there is a legal liquidation process that usually has to happen where the Executor of the Estate, which is Sasuke now, has to liquidate everything into 1 account and then from that account comes distribution and I think everything might be on hold until the liquidation and distribution process is finalized, which seems to be expected by the end of the year. I could be wrong, but that seems like the most likely reason why the manga is on hiatus and why nothing has a concrete release date.

I doubt that. Pretty sure there'll be a mode that resembles the ToP, and this 5v5 is probably it. Kind of a battle royal. Otherwise they wouldn't put emphasis on that mode and announce it as something new.

Do we know for sure the 5v5 mode is multiple people on each team? Because TENKAICHI 3 already had a 5v5 mode where one player just picks a team of 5 to cycle through in 1v1 fights so I assume it’s the same thing unless confirmed

5v5 gives us an idea of how massive the stages are probably gonna be. I can't wait to see what they got.
So to me it feels like it’s both that last chapter seemed like the ending arc transition break that they normally do when a arc ends but with Tori passing they probably will start releasing new manga after the summer I would say that way they have there ducks in a row moving forward I hope it’s sooner but after summer feels like it makes sense they get to enjoy time off and reenergize to continue

for the stuff ant the 5v5 I'm pretty sure will work the same way like the old games where two players pick 5 characters each and then fight as 1v1 until u go through everyone but ill gladly be wrong if that's not the case and its actually two teams of 5 and basically have a battle Royale
5v5 was also since bt2 in every sparking/blast game (except tag team and ut/kinect) - its an old mechanic and doesn't mean you have 10 fighters on the battlefield. its still 1v1 with the possibilty of swapping characters...

It possible that they have some manuscripts but that they aren’t have sort through them and it’s a lot of them.. everything from character design to story telling points.. Maybe even arcs that were scrapped for whatever reason or left unfinished because a better story came to mind. If they are looking at a situation like that it’s probably gonna take a while

Does Toei hate dragon ball IP for not marketing it has they should be marketing ? its not like Daima isn't gonna be the 40th anniversary of the series and they seem to be treating it like the anime is coming back. I would have expected by now, more analysis on the story of Daima and more reveals of the characters since its gonna be anime that i am sure will put some meat and potatoes on a community that spend last getting bread crumbs for a manga rettelling that everyone has watched. Regardless, still hyped for Daima and everyone should because Daima, Sparking Zero will be carrying the IP for the next months.

yeah but a gamemode of everyone on the field at the same time would be incredibly fun with friends. also tenkaichi tag team did something like that. 2v2, everyone on the field. it can work as its own gamemode or different parts of story mode and online.

It’s seems like Bandai and Toei is pushing One Piece way harder than Dragon Ball, I see they have a bias. I get One Piece is ending relatively soon but dam they are literally putting the middle finger to the show and the fans that made them who they are today. Without Dragon Ball Toei would have went to sh it and Bandai revenue would have halved. One piece wasn’t saving them back then when one piece was a laughing stock in the anime community out side of Japan. Ngl shit starting to piss me off, I a fan of OP and my brother been the biggest fan since the early 2000s but the way they are handling my favorite anime of all time is seriously frustrating.

Dragon ball sells more, the yearly data chart released in japan shows that. Trust me one piece isnt getting as much special treatment as you think. For one, one piece doesnt have any games worth mentioning, they dont get big films like dragon ball does. We literally have daima, the manga, and 2 new video games releasing. Which are sparking zero and the new card game replacing dragon ball heroes.

Tenkaichi 3 had it, and you picked 5 characters to play as (that dont share health bars) and you could swap between all 5 characters depending on what you wanted
This was also the only way to fuse dueing battle, your 2 characters healths combine, and you lose 1 of the slots.

5v5 was a thing in bt3. It's not a surprise it's coming back.
5v5 was in Budokai tenkaichi 3 and Raging Blast 2, it's not gonna be 10 characters on screen. Online is only 1v1 but this is confirmation of teams up to 5 but it's still 1v1.
