- They're infamous games everyone loves to laugh at, but what if underneath the badness, they could have almost been good? YTPer Dopply dared to ask this. Join Mikaela as she takes Yoshi and Jacob through Dopply's improved remasters of the Zelda CD-i games and actually enjoy them.

... So, if I'm reading these cutscenes right: The bad guys are turning regular people into their mooks, and you stab them with impunity and steal their money?
Truly, Link is showing us the many Faces of Evil.
Golly!
*picks up a corpse*
That "Golly!" definitely lived rent-free in my head, similar to Zelda's "good." from Wand Of Gamelon, ever since I learned about these games
So pausing before and after you use the power glove, it DOES use 5 rubies per screen flash. Jacob was right!
I love Militron. His hammy, ridiculous voice and over the top gestures are hilarious.
6:02 I nearly spilled my cereal from laughing so hard.
I like to think that the CD-i game continuity comes from Link Between Worlds as Yuga's fanfiction before he perfected his art powers
"God, the geometry!"
That's what I said all through Highschool!
It would have been great if Mashed Link wore that pig-boss corpse draped around his shoulders, like a savage barbarian.
I really appreciate the consideration at 6:44! unfortunately there's a lot of people out there who haven't yet received the memo that flashing lights can hurt people
Something I really love about these games is the ambient noises where there are no music, like the sewer and astrology room in Harlequin's level, are really eerie and unsettling for such a silly game like this.
The composer was Tony Trippi, who went on to work for Harmonix that would then make Amplitude and Guitar Hero!
The backgrounds might be confusing but the cutscenes are a work of art.
Listening to Yoshi's point about internet reviewers and the "What Were They Thinking?!" review style, I found myself almost immediately thinking about Sonic Adventure. That's another game that's been internet fodder over the years.
Does anyone really know how to progress in this game? It seems like it's more that you find out how to bumble forward and endure until the game relents.
Sorry, Link, not enough Rupees. 🤑
Nice Vid!
This game would probably be a little bit better if you got at least x5 whatever consumable item or Rupee when you picked it up... and areas where a little more clear on where you can go and not.
What does the Power Glove even do?
holy hell
Its frustrating game, but not that much a bad game, enjoyable but I'd still rather play the real zelda games
