10 Beautiful Cichlid Tank Setups (Mbuna Cichlids)

This video shows off 10 beautiful African cichlid tank setups, specifically mbuna cichlids from Lake Malawi. A few of these African cichlid tanks are our own, but we also mixed in a few cichlid tanks from tours in the past, as well as a few special guests that are joining us today to discuss African cichlids.
When looking at Lake Malawi African cichlids, there are three main categories: mbuna, peacocks, and haps. Mbuna typically require more rockwork and decor in the tank, while peacocks and haps utilize open water much more and swim very actively in an aquarium. Mbuna are very colorful and are active swimmers in the aquarium. They can be a bit aggressive, but with a proper tank setup, it usually isn't too bad. Highly recommend keeping mbuna!

Awesome, I see an ongoing trend of all males, I feel that when you do that you are just renting these fish until they die just like saltwater. I built a 450 gallon a few years ago and my fish bred like mad, i sold quite a few to local stores!! i'm retired now and thinking about getting back into this!!

Probably none. Anubias is your best shot. Pothos outside the tank or refugium is a better idea
