Amazing video!!! I’ve been looking for in-depth, comprehensive videos like this. Talking with your hands and moving the cards up and down when you’re showing your deck build is a little dizzying at times with the camera changing its zoom and focus. Again, thanks for all of the knowledge you dropped here!
Very good video! Detailed, insightful and without the annoying energy of someone who finally scored some adderall. Just subbed, keep it going fellow captain!
Great video I am going to build Yamato as my first One Piece TCG deck. Would like to see a video about the fortress build if possible. Keep up the good work !
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. And hell yeah, that's great to hear. It's a fun and interesting deck for sure. I'm planning on making other YG Yamato videos covering the Fortress, Sky Island, and Fishman build of Yamato, so stay tuned!! I want to put out some other OP06 leader videos first, but it's on the to-do list!
Yooo, thank you so much! Haha, I was worried about making it that long but I really felt it would all be helpful so I left everything in and tried to just make it as jam-packed, yet useful as possible. That makes me feel better about making it so long lol.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you checking it out. I'm working on a gameplay video right now, so it'll be up soon! Be sure to keep an eye out for it : )
What would you say is the best strategy against Katakuri (besides Onami)? Sometimes i steamroll a Katakuri with my double attack and sometimes I kill myself because he out-tempos me first attack with 1-2 trigger bodies out of life. I know Kata is a gamble match every time, but I want to solidify some consistent mindset/gameplan of how to setup my best chances
So unfortunately Kata is always a bit of a gamble. If you're running Sky Island build and they steal first from you, you can go for Ohm Holy combo, set up, and then hit them all at once turn 3 or 4 with Ohm, Holy, and hopefully a leader Onami banish swing >: ) Other than that, you just have to try and do your best to play around any triggers they get on board from your attacks. If you find yourself unable to handle 1 or 2 extra bodies from them, don't attack until you have a banish swing ready to go and just focus on getting his char off the board. Reject is really strong here too cus if they get a cracker on board and they're at 2 life to your 4, you just swing at their life or other char and pop their cracker with reject, etc. You can try and establish a 5c Momo blocker and beef up your life with the Wano build, but with reject, you're always at risk of getting popped so that's risky too.
@@FudelioTCG SO the advice worked. I went 4-1 today in that matchup on the ranked sim server. Although it’s still up to luck depending on their triggers, I still felt much more in control of the tempo. Thanks!
Hey bro, love your content! Question, can you share what Yamato prefers (first or second) for meta match-ups? Like v Moria, Perona, Saka, Kata, Enel, Reiju, etc.?
Yo thank you! so here's a little cheat sheet, but it really does depend on what build you're running for YG Yamato (these examples are more geared towards Wano and Sky Island). In general, you want to take 1st with Yamato as all builds except fortress, but there are a few MU that you can steal 2nd and it'll work out. Fortress Yamato almost always wants to go 2nd to establish either a searcher or blocker turn 1 (2 don turn) Moria: you want 1st every time bcus Moria wants 1st and it hurts him tempo wise (can't use leader effect turn 2) Perona: this is one of the only MU you can take 2nd bcus Perona realllly wants 2nd in basically all of their MU (if you're sky island Yama here, take 2nd). it hurts them and throws off their curve of 8c moria & 10c Doffy Saka: you can win most games going 1st, but like Perona, if you want to take 2nd you can. But allowing them to establish a turn 2 borsa can hurt Yama a lot against Saka, so some ppl like to take 2nd away and get a full 9k swing at leader w/ no blockers on board yet. Kata: similar to Saka, first is still probably preferred but if you want to steal their preferred curve away from them, you can. I would suggest going first though bcus Kata players love to take that first 8k swing against them and if they don't hit good triggers, your chances of winning just skyrocketed. Enel: Enel is one of Yamato's hardest MU and this will depend on if you want to go aggro or starve them (I like to get Enel to 2 life ASAP and then set up for lethal). If I'm running Sky Island build I tend to take 2nd away from Enel(you're praying for Ohm Holy at this point), but with Wano I would want to go first. 9c Zoro is the Enel killer btw. If you can establish him on board and can get the swings off the next turn you're almost guarunteed to win. Reiju: Reiju is tough bcus they draw cards like crazy and always seem to have the counter to get out of your attacks. I will normally try and go first so if i'm lucky they don't have the early counter and then I can just try to stay alive until I can go for lethal. Going second against Reiju can feel too slow and like you immediately lose your tempo, especially if they establish a yonji blocker early on. Yamato mirror: Yamato mirrors are the scariest game of chicken you've ever played lol XD In general you want to go first and then mentally outplay your opponent by knowing when to take 2 life from leader attack and making sure you can counter out of an Onami banish swing turn 2~4. You don't always want to counter out of the first attack, bcus getting the resources early can help you set up. I've won a lot of mirrors bcus I took the first 8-9k swing from my opp and then I had counter later on and got my own banish swing off, etc. Sky Island and Fortress builds don't mind going 2nd as well. If you know your opp is playing Fortress build, you could take 2nd away from them if you want. Those are the main ones, I hope that helps and sorry for the wall of text lol once I started typing I couldn't stop! XD
I built a control variant, with izo, hody Jones, gin, and punk Gibson, noah's ark, along with Kreig to k.o. and double attack twice for more pressure, and even using onami to give kreig or leader banish lol. Straw sword might be good as well, as a two of lol. The idea is to rest opponent's blockers and double attack hard every turn to hit life or dump their hand, while I have enough counter to not take life for a few turns. I've had a lot of success with it on the sim. Can't wait for in person play.
That sounds really interesting! I like the spice, tbh. I've run a rest heavy build before, utilizing Paradise Totsuka and Straw Sword. That was pretty cool, too. This leader is so much fun to build decks around, and I can't wait to see what ppl in the West come up with.
Yo thanks! I’m actually making a series right now about how to play against the top leaders of OP6, including Reiju, so keep an eye out for it But in general, it depends on the MU and what leader you’re using. You have to put a lot of pressure on Reiju otherwise they build up their hand and can dominate you late game with transformations. But you also don’t want to give them ideal situations where they can play Niji and send back an important character, slam down an Ichiji and go for game, etc. Decks that can bounce or bottom deck like RP Law do really well into Reiju, especially because he’s normally at less don than she is, so she can’t use her fx. I’ll go into more detail in my vid, but I hope that helps for now!
@@FudelioTCG Hey thanks a Lot . I cant wait for your next Video 😄 Im from Germany so weit Play OP05 for now. From OP03 to OP04 i play Zoro, but switches after the Ban to Katakuri for a Month and then played Enel. And now trying Yamato in the SIM. I cant wait to Play her in RL. Its a lot of fun 👍

Hey! Me again. What advice do you have against Uta? I can’t, for the life of me, finish strong in that matchup. Also, generally, is it true that Uta isn’t really gonna be that relevant in 06? P.S. Please make that discord. The fact that you have real experience a set ahead of the West is extremely valuable imo and i think you’d get great engagement!
I promise I'm working on getting the Discord up and running haha! Until Worlds is over I'm swamped with other stuff I'm trying to get finished but I'm gonna try and get it made ASAP. Appreciate the kind words though and I think you're right! Uta is a tough cookie to crack with Yamato lol. I played some at locals recently and think I found a good way to have a chance but I was using Sky Island build so my advice will be geared towards that. I think you have to treat Uta almost like Enel where you go as wide as you can, clear their bodies with Reject and your own char, and try to get them down to at least 0 or 1 life before they play 8 drop Kid. If they're at 2-3 life by the time they drop Kid, you're probably going to lose. The good thing is, a lot of players will take the life knowing they're about to wall up with Kid, so it gives you one shot. If you can get Uta to one life and use Reject for the 1 damage effect, you can catch them off guard and go for game in the same turn. Uta gets crazy card draw no matter what, so there's no point in starving her. Go aggro, and if you can, get those Onami banish swings in. Gedatsu or Gan Fall (if they're at 1 life) can be good for KOing their 3c Namis or any chump blockers, but once they get 7c Luffy on the field your only hope is having huge swings or using Hody to rest him. One option is if you're running 9c Zoro, try and get him on the field with enough life to last until the next turn and then you can pray that you can either go for lethal or at least clear their whole board. If you're running the Wano build and can get Momo blocker on the field and heal life with it, you may last long enough, but only if you did enough damage early game.
Also, Uta is still decently strong in OP06 but she still lacks the consistency that she needs from 2k counter film Sanji and Blueno blocker from EB01. After EB-01, she easily jumps up to at least the top 2 tiers.
I'm sorry, other people are having the some problem it seems T_T I don't have the article to share, but I'm trying to figure out a way that ppl outside of Japan can access it!
I got the plastic one and the actual card sleeve that I put it in at a local card shop! If you ask at your local shop for a plastic case that fits One Piece cards they should be able to help you out! I’m sure you can find them online too 👍🏼
Weird question, where did you get the case for your leader? The ones I use don’t have enough space for me to have the leader in a sleeve as well as be in the case.
No worries, not a weird question! I got it at a local card shop, I just asked one of the staff which size would fit one piece cards and they showed me. I didn't know if it would fit the sleeve as well, but was happy it did. Unfortunately, I don't remember what brand it was, but it was definitely just a basic Japanese brand.
Do you feel yamato is a very cheaty leader? It's hard to put in word's. I've tested against it and it just seems to destroy Life so fast if you don't draw blocker's or 2k counters. Combined with when you attack yamato they can get character's from Life for free. Its obviously my skill issue as I don't know fully how to play around it but I find 5 cost blocker's are key to avoid the plus 3k and rest a 4 cost event
It's definitely a strong leader but once you learn to play around it, Yamato has it's weaknesses for sure. I wouldn't call it cheaty, it's just a very strong and specific type of leader. Decks like Moria and Enel do really well into Yamato. It all depends on the matchup at the end of the day : )

@@FudelioTCGhey man, loved the video and was interested in Laundy’s wano guide on note- but the only options to pay are a Japanese version of PayPal or credit card- and the site rejects payment via credit card for some unknown reason. Any suggestions on a workaround? Did credit card work for you? Thanks man
Duuude Zoro is rough haha. I’m still working on the best way to play against him, but I think with Zoro you have to take a starve approach once you get him down to 3 life. Try and snag that first hit with leader and then keep trying to clear board by playing your own char. If you keep swinging into life and he keeps getting resources and more bodies on board, it’s almost impossible. I do think fortress and Wano builds might be a bit better for this matchup (or if you can hit ohm holy with sky island and clear his board with them and Gedatsu) Tbh it’s a match up I’d like to get more practice with bcus I don’t see it very often on the sim
That’s Onami (Nani’s nickname from the Wano arc) She’s really good! She gives a character or your leader banish for the turn on play, and her trigger is KO one of your opponent’s 5 cost or lower characters.
4 drop blocker Borsalino's effect is only on "opponent's turn" so since Onami is triggered on their turn, it works : ) Same as thunderbolt trigger from OP03

Tbh it’s a match up I’d like to get more practice with bcus I don’t see it very often on the sim
👍👍👍👍
Thanks for checking it out!
whats that nami at 13:20?
That’s Onami (Nani’s nickname from the Wano arc)
She’s really good! She gives a character or your leader banish for the turn on play, and her trigger is KO one of your opponent’s 5 cost or lower characters.
The combo that you said, with Anami and Hori won’t work with a Borsellino because of Borsellino main effect
4 drop blocker Borsalino's effect is only on "opponent's turn" so since Onami is triggered on their turn, it works : )
Same as thunderbolt trigger from OP03
First.
Hey kid, i'm a computer!!!
