I have had a bronze broad breasted, hen for 4 years, she is very freindly. She even recovered from a nasty trip that left her unable to walk for a few weeks. Still quite healthy, loves roaming around the yard.
I have a small and a large female; about 8 months old. I'm doing the same thing as you but with a Royal Palm Tom! My females are laying now. They're both very sweet but I doubt the big girl with make it through Summer. I'll most likely cull before then. Did you have success crossing the two?
Our Beltsville small hen is sitting on a handful of eggs :) Im excited shes like ten months old now and her Tom is doing well laying beside her at times its sweet
I wouldn’t risk the male being next to the female. Male animals tend to be aggressive with babies & bam it’s ugly! Male elephants can’t be around babies & they usually leave until it’s time to mate.
@@Zumbagirl517 thanks our eggs got stolen by the mink along with a clutch of silkie eggs We sold the turkeys to some great people who have lots of room Thanks i know males can be agressive and even kill young to mate again We raise rabbits and have seen goid dads too but if they have the room
