I have to admit, I was not interested in this kit when I saw it before (Naptown Nerf \ Captain X reviews). It looked so tedious to install and wasn’t really aesthetically pleasing. This LCD screen and the ease of install seem to change everything. Time to tap into savings again. NNN you bastard! Jk 😂

For what it’s worth, I have always erred on the side of caution with voltage ratings and go one “s” lower than spec. Seeing as how this one is spec for 18v, I would say 4s is a fine assumption for heavy play and 5s for intermittent use.
Maybe for brushless but 3S is so plentiful for standard motors lol

Great video NNN! Just so you know, you can run this on 2s. The lipo alarm on this unit is set to 9v by default so that you don’t go below 3v on any single cell when using a 2s. Find the setting for lipo alarm and lower it to 6 (or 6.25 if you want to play it safe) and it will work on 2s. Really great kit. Similar to the Amazon kit but a bit more refined.
I couldn’t find a setting for minimum voltage like the Evolver has on the Rapidstrike. I contacted NFS about it and awaiting feedback. I’m pretty sure there’s a way to do it since Arduino is fully programmable, but it would be nice if it was built-in like the Evolver. TBA.
@@notnuffnerfI watched it again this morning and watched the portion where you go through the screen options. I didn’t see the volt setting that I normally see but it looked like there was one or two you didn’t explain and maybe skipped a couple. It’s possible that maybe one of those settings controls min voltage. I’m with you though, it would be strange to have a system this advanced and not have a way to adjust minimum voltage and/or volt alarm. Does this system still have a volt alarm that goes off when you drop below a specified voltage?
The thing with this kit vs the Evolver, is this kit puts all settings on one menu. This is dangerous because there are some fine-tuning or deep programming settings that have no business being on the surface menu since you can easily brick your controller. This is why I skimmed through some of these. At least the Evolver makes you go through another step of button clicks to access the more invasive settings. As far as the voltage settings, I’ll advise as soon as I hear something!

May I ask if you used resistors with your motors for this build? I got the same kit with a banned blasters cage but I keep getting error msg saying mx current over limit.
I did not but it seems like resistors are not a bad idea with your setup.
Would be awesome if they made a stryfe kit with the fancy optic like the Rapidstrike and put the selector switch back where it was on the left side. I've heard somewhere that the RS kit can support a solenoid pusher too
That would actually be pretty awesome. At the very least a picatinny mounted optic that can plug into the V9 through its USB-C port.

NNN what about a short dart pusher? You mention it in the video. One of the reps for the Amazon kit said they have a 3d printed short dart pusher that they can send with the kit and I tried to get them to send one to me. However, despite the fact that I had bought over a dozen kits from them they never sent me one. It’s part of the reason I quit doing business with them.
Yep it’s available just like the Evolver. You just have to ask for the files!

127FPS to be exact. I could run a more powerful battery or even better yet an actual LiPo, but I didn't need to. It's great that you can tune it according to your needs though.

The mk3 is ugly as sin and way, way more expensive. I got 4 Stryfes for the price of 1 mk3. And the Stryfe is just so ubiquitous for just about any type of mod, cosmetic & performance.
So we've got Nerf blasters with all these precision controls and customization, while the Army is still using the Browning M2 that was designed in 1918.
China's going to kick our ass in the next war...

Okay bro i want to ask two things since i always love stryfe select fire so: 1: can it be used whit a rev switch (it is just personal prefrence ) (i know you can tune it to not need it but still)
2: if i just put it in wire it up to my setup (42 cage, ODD krakens , cyclones) and plug my 3 s lipo in will it be able to handle it (cause the v7 couldn't)
sidenote : if it doesn't break than this is the coolest thing ever
I think this could take up to 35amp current so a 35c Lipo should work fine. Also it can be adapted for half length with a longer pusher easily.
This is my only concern about this kit. It looks like they are still using older boards that are spec for 3s. That may sound fine but spec for 3 means 2s with the way we mod things similar to the old boards. The Amazon version of this uses a 4s board that has a self-resetting 50amp fuse. Using the biggest 3s I own (2200 mah, 120c) I wasn’t able to trip the fuse let alone burn out the board. The setup I used was very similar to yours but higher crush 39.5 cage, neo rhinos, and keplers. Yes I know, neo-rhinos are garbage compared to krakens and I have since made the switch to krakens permanently.
Overall, I would be very careful with this board and maybe install a fuse between the battery and res of the electronics. I don’t think the board will burn with regular use but heavy full auto or even worse, a jam, and that board might smoke and toast. I hope I am wrong but that sure looks like an older board. The 4s boards are always a darker blue in my experience. That’s my perspective after building almost a dozen stryfes/regulators with this kit. There is still a video on you tube somewhere from “chilling with my foamies” showing off the regulator version of this kit on 3s. It hits 200 fps and 15 fps at max power although everything is adjustable with these kits.
@brellcooper1337 this unit has a fuse before the board, and you can see it in one of the frames. It also brings a spare fuse. I don’t think this unit shares any boards with it’s predecessors. I looked over every prior iteration and couldn’t find any similarities. I also pointed this out in the video (not sure you’ve had a chance to watch it yet).
@@notnuffnerfof course I watched the video bro! I watch all of your videos you are my favorite of all time man!!! I didn’t see the frame with the fuse you are referring to. When I went back through the video I noticed something relevant. At 2:36 you show the boards from one of the older kits. Unlike all the boards in this kit or their other kits, the boards you show at 2:36 are dark blue. Dark blue PCBs like that are spec for 4s. Most of the boards you see are the familiar light green and spec for 3s. I figured this out by accident one day when scrapping a generic laser tag blaster for glow tech bulbs. For whatever reason, (cost or availability maybe?) they went from an4s board to a 3s board. You can make up the difference with components on the board but the green boards are inherently lower power than the blue boards. That’s all O was getting at bro. Awesome video as always and I am still your biggest fan!!!
