True, paper wasn't that easy. I got 100+ last year. Still I thought it wasn't a smooth ride this time. So I am quite surprised at all those channels on UA-cam claiming it was easy and cutoff will be much higher. Attempting paper during exam & outside exam hall are quite different 😊
It was easy because around 25-30 questions were directly from basic books!..
Timepass students will be saying, but experience players know it wasn't that smooth. Although csat was at easier side and not be big blocker like last year which will shoot up cutoff

Cleared GS paper last year, failed CSAT by 4 marks. Worked extra-hard on Maths this time. Clearing CSAT, but miserably failing GS Paper.
A couple of questions from Polity were tough, although from Laxmikanth but factual like you have said. Had revised Polity 4 days ago, yet, couldn’t recall the answers and marked them wrong.
I scored 76 last year, and this year I’m scoring 70! That bad. Made some extremely silly mistakes like the “powers of Municipalilities” question. Just read the word Municipality, and read Part 9-A and marked it right. Realised it only after coming back that the statement said “powers”, which are not mentioned in the constitution. And things like that. This was my 5th attempt. Feeling lost and broken. Like I don’t have it in me to clear this exam, even after having dedicated 5 years to this, leaving behind a promising career in Medicine.
Dr. Shivin sir, I don’t understand, how do people clear Prelims?? How could you score 30 marks above the cut-off! I find myself always lingering around the cut-off. Please help! 😞💔

Sister, I would advise you to explore other options as plan B. This doesn't mean I am questioning your potential but rather trying to tell you that it is better to think about an option when you have invested so much of your time in the preparation. Last year you scored 75 marks, which is a decent score, considering the fact last year's paper was hard. This year you are making around 65- 70, certainly, your performance degraded to some extent because the exam is on the easier side. Your marked factual questions wrong from polity indicates that revision was a culprit here. Everyone is reading the same sources but the one who remembers the information on her tips will sail through easily when it comes to dealing with factual questions. The only difference I see between the aspirants who make prelims and those who don't is the fact that the former revision is better than the latter. Medicine is a decent career.

I already do have a Plan-B, and it’s already executed. I’m a Grade-A Medical Officer under the Central Govt. But this Plan-B is not my dream :(( . I will “restart” and give my best ever attempt next year which would be my last.
@@drsamreenghani788"Powers of Municipalities" come under article 243 W which is under Part IX A only...so it will be all statements correct..it is mentioned in the constitution under article 243 W.
I prepared for a year, followed Shivin sir for many months. But in the last week before the exam, everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Guests in our tiny apartment staying till the exam, extremely painful periods, persistent upset stomach, not having any space or silence whatsoever. Still, I was ready to go and deliver regardless of my circumstances. But yesterday night, I got fever, heavy congestion and migraine. Today I was supposed to leave home by 6, but I could not get out of bed at all. I could only pull myself out of bed by 9, but by then it was too late. I'm disheartened, especially because the questions were doable for me. Anyway, if God has another plan for me, I'll take it. Will definitely take the exam next year.
Everything happens for a reason....be happy that you survive the life not the exam.....who knows if you went to the exam anything can happen in the way or in the exam hall.
You can do well next year

Sounds super rough :( Hopefully there's something more out there for you. There's many many things that you can do and be good at, including but not limited to this exam. All the very best :)
I also skipped exam intentionally.Because in this summer my home is not suitable for preparing 6-10 hours in a day.
At 1 pm it became very difficult to sit in front of my device. Small electricity cuts & internet problems add in frustation.

Last year after Prelims I thought I was not worthy enough. This attempt I don't know yet how much I will score will update after answer key but yes I'm proud that I performed much much better and I'm Proud of my efforts.
My confidence did take a huge toll last year but yes now I believe I'm not that bad either.
CSAT was tricky especially Comprehension It wasn't that easy but yes it could be done.
The fact that among kids,adults nd legends......

Today weather is not good and its too hot in my exam centre they didn't allow us to take the water bottle inside the hall and they didn't provide drinking water there😢😢😢

UPSC should clarify it. There they argued with us that they got instructions to not to allow the water bottle inside the hall.

This time I have no regrets. I know how much hard work I have put in. I did whatever I could. Exam went okay. If I deserve it I will clear it else it’s not the end. But it’s important that I am happy with my performance and I am satisfied 😊

Sir what yoy randomly said yesterday , came in paper.
Irrespective of the result I'm so happy & proud of myself. Was able to tackle CSAT , my weak zone & did GS to the best of my abilities. Result is definitely not in my hand but I'm extremely deligted today.

Sir last time I got 83. This time getting 68. I somehow just collapsed in those exam conditions this time. Was having difficulty recalling facts. Ended up making stupid mistakes. The 50-50 didn't work in my favour either. I don't know what to do. I feel lost and very embarrassed. The fact that most people did good makes me feel even worse. I don't know what to do. Please guide me

Those who are saying it easy , the thing is that they know just only 20 question then they announce paper is easy but they are those who don't going to qualify ..
Cut-off will be 85 -90 those who got 85+ best of luck for the mains .. and those who didn't get that score keep it for next prelims. Best wishes 🎉

Thank you so much Sir, i followed your advice of doing meditation to calm our nerves just before the exam... I was feeling nervous, but that suggestion helped me a lot, thank you so much❤... I won't pass the cutoff this time, but there are still many positives to look upon... I was much better prepared than last time... Though i am feeling bad for not being able to clear it, but I won't give up... Will try my best next time.

Well it was 46 degrees in my place also but once you get the paper in your hand I don't think it matters that much, your focus is entirely on the paper then. Baki you can make as many excuses as you want
Polity is like a best friend , never ditches at the last moment. And yes, I totally agree that we were familiar with the pattern of paper so it might feel easy, but it was not easy at all. Despite having revision on my tips & then upsc asks- largest terrestrial peatland reserves😅. Googly was there in so many questions.
