I love the soulmason, except for the legs. I've devised an easy remedy, however, and have removed the legs. Contemplating using a flying stand for a floating hoverchair, or adding more legs to give it a spider-throne...
I got an improperly loaded battle force box and so I have an extra sprue set for the catapult. Think I might see if I could use the 6 legs on that for the throne
These guys are cool, but I kinda wish we had a generic foot leader, like how the Liege Kavaloi are elite versions of the Kavalos Riders, something like that for Guard, you know? I really like the bipedal chair guy too, there’s just something so cool about a walking chair.
I agree. I spent so much on this army but personally im already burnt out with the army as it is very narrow in list building to me as i like narrative games. Also the heros dont feel great? They are decent but they just feel like they missed the mark with the heros except for the named ones
Mathew Arnold Hopefully. Ranged soldiers, even if they’re horse archers or units that function as Magic Missile only wizards, maybe deploying in 4s only, with one die for each model, would be cool.
I'd argue that Vokmortian represents the logistical side of the army more then any other of the bonereapers, the guy who is always on the focus of the matter and primarily behind his desk performing this one task with a singular focus. he may not have the authority of Katakros but through his work method he might aswel be treated as such.
This army is what I've been waiting for. I've been wanting to get into painting armies, and potentially down the line playing, but until Ossiarch Bonereapers there hasn't been a really good fit for me. Time to start saving up and So far I've not seen any model I don't like for them. The soulmason "mount" is strange, but I kind of like that about it, I'm sure those not happy with it most likely have the skill to change it into something more to their liking anyways. Finally, love these videos.
Bravo Doug, amazing dialogue and lore explanation. I love these videos, I appreciate the fact your into the story as much as the actual table top. OBR is super interesting and fun to play, hopefully "thee" Death army to crack the upper echelon of the game.
The Soul Reaper is my personal favorite. A bunch of people have poo poo'd on him for not being the best, but I think he is a fun and cool hero. I have one in my list because he is cheap and looks cool.
That'd be awesome if the volkmarian guy is really just the twisted remnants of volkmar The grim. Would add a bit more spice if he ever gets a spark of his old self back
Great lore video! What about of main idea of AoS - identity, this characters greatly represents it. Each character work hard to create identity that is required to Nagash. He can't create it, so he collect and reshape it as he wants.
Hey, thank you so much for your channel, love it. Please make a video absolut Thanquol, i am a Huge fan of him, but there is not much lore about him in age of sigma
So if the mortarch are the equivalent of roman consuls, volkmortian is like a praetor someone who isnt on top but still has enough authority to gather their own armies. Extremely simplified comparison
Considering the Boneshapers are made from the best artisans, craftsmen, and engineers I like to imagine that at least one of them has the soul of Elon Musk in them. Imagine SpaceX, Paypal, and Tesla but with bones and souls.
omg this is so perfect all morning yesterday i was making a new dnd char from Thay. That was mortician and sometime gladiator, but he is a follower of jergal and Myrkul. Jergal the god who keeps records on the final disposition of all the spirits of the dead.He is the second in command of Myrkul also a god of death and both these guys play the long game. it just struck me how much these D&D gods and AoS match up in agendas. that being said in gonna play my char kinda like Zandtos
Bones for the Bone Tithe! Souls for the Soul Quilt!
Have a well deserved Like!
🤔 let the realms be silent?

Give it like a Slann Mage Priest look?
Get mortek guards to carry it
Dude, spider legs woulda been so fucking dope
I got an improperly loaded battle force box and so I have an extra sprue set for the catapult. Think I might see if I could use the 6 legs on that for the throne
What kinda legs would work best I wonder? Mine has 6 mortek guard legs and 2 little knife arms at the front
The Soul Mason looks really unique, it’s a great model.

Xochitl-Czesława Ginevra-Erika, HIE Agreed. The Soulmason reminds me of that one Inquisitor from 40k.

The liege mortek is in the chain of command in the book, so we'll probably get some more liege models in the future.

Well done Doug, these videos really show how terrifying this army is. And I love it!
I loved Ossiarch Bonereapers esthetic… now I love them for their lore too! Keep up the good work!
It's all fun and games until you get your W-2 Form to file only to find out you owe the Bone IRS half of your Skeleton

That would be perfect.
A very extremely awesome video as always Doug.
Ahh gregorian chant are the best, thank you for remembering me that!
I absolutely love chairguy. It'll be a long while till I have resources to put toward this army, but the's definitely an early pickup for me!
Great lore video!

Man, I bought into this army going “oh yeah looks neat”, but now... context really makes a difference.0

Sweet! Anytime the undead get some playtime I get very interestdd
This opening song reminds me of "This is Halloween Town"

I mean for a rough comparison I think you nailed it :)
Hey Doug! I know that this is an old video, but I wonder who leads each legion of reapers when Katakros or the others are away
There's not really a solid answer, but likely one of the smaller heroes. Each should be capable of enacting Katakroses will! Thank you for watching!
Hashut!
Make an army of spooky scary skeletons that's when you know

So a thought. Would this faction be the arch rival of the bone splitters? Would bonesplitters hate these guys for their use of bones?
.
Who else is making them look like san's
