@@ZannParker they do indeed have so much rich unique history, I was so amazed to find out that historians classify the Beja as the direct descendants of the Medjay who were according to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, a tribe living in the Eastern desert red sea hills (still occupied by the beja clans such as Hadendowa, Beni Amir, Bisharin, etc) who were famous for being the elite soldiers of ancient Egypt and Kingdom of Kush armies (the Medjay elite units also were the only ones tasked with policing the borders of ancient Egypt during peace times, and protecting the pharaoh) I'm glad you visited my people, I am a Somali from northern Somalia and Djibouti (I also have relatives and ancestral family lands in the Somali inhabited Ogaden region of Ethiopia and exclusively Somali settled NFD Province of Kenya) ...Somalis are East Cushites while the Beja are the last remaining northern Cushite afroasiatic ethnic group inhabiting South Egypt (such as the Halaib triangle) and Sudan Eritrea red sea hills...interestingly, the only Cushites who have their own sovereign nation, are Somalis who have been blessed enough to have 2 countries, Djibouti 🇩🇯 ruled by president ismail omar geele, an ethnic somali man ( Djibouti isn 60 percent Somali, and 30 percent of its population is afar who are a closely related cushitic tribe), as well as the more commonly known Federal Republic of Somalia (who is currently all over international global news channels because Somalia won a highy controversial ICJ maritime dispute case against Kenya, as per today's icj ruling, Somalia owns the oil and gas rich sea which Kenya preciously claimed)

@@ZannParker, It is true to say that you have enlightened some minds about my country, disclosed facts, and shed light on the unknown of my country's cultures. This will encourage others from outside of Sudan to come to visit and entertain with what they will see. The word "Thank you" has its limits, but thanking you should be with recognition .. Zann, thank you for being a Sudanese in some way, or another .. mingling with people, experiencing them, and living a real-life with them.. wish you continue in the same path of discovering and displaying other cultures .. I know the Sudanese people you met have invited you to visit Sudan again and I do the same and hope we meet some day..thanks a lot💙💙

وبلا شك السودان إحداها من الناحيه الثقافيه والتراثية والشعبية
مثل اليمن ليبيا السودان موريتانيا وكذا أثيوبيا
لذلك أعتقد أن الناس ستهتم بمشاهدتها

@@hassanabdikarimmohamed2505 Thank you for the informations! I truly loved meeting several Beja people. I loved learning some of the culture and learning something new. The Beja have so much history!❤️
@@ZannParker they do indeed have so much rich unique history, I was so amazed to find out that historians classify the Beja as the direct descendants of the Medjay who were according to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, a tribe living in the Eastern desert red sea hills (still occupied by the beja clans such as Hadendowa, Beni Amir, Bisharin, etc) who were famous for being the elite soldiers of ancient Egypt and Kingdom of Kush armies (the Medjay elite units also were the only ones tasked with policing the borders of ancient Egypt during peace times, and protecting the pharaoh)
I'm glad you visited my people, I am a Somali from northern Somalia and Djibouti (I also have relatives and ancestral family lands in the Somali inhabited Ogaden region of Ethiopia and exclusively Somali settled NFD Province of Kenya) ...Somalis are East Cushites while the Beja are the last remaining northern Cushite afroasiatic ethnic group inhabiting South Egypt (such as the Halaib triangle) and Sudan Eritrea red sea hills...interestingly, the only Cushites who have their own sovereign nation, are Somalis who have been blessed enough to have 2 countries, Djibouti 🇩🇯 ruled by president ismail omar geele, an ethnic somali man ( Djibouti isn 60 percent Somali, and 30 percent of its population is afar who are a closely related cushitic tribe), as well as the more commonly known Federal Republic of Somalia (who is currently all over international global news channels because Somalia won a highy controversial ICJ maritime dispute case against Kenya, as per today's icj ruling, Somalia owns the oil and gas rich sea which Kenya preciously claimed)
@@hassanabdikarimmohamed2505 Gosh, you are good at historical facts. I am so bad at this but learn the most by traveling. I would love to visit Somali and Djoubuti and Eritrea. I don't think I'm allowed to visit Somali right now, but Djibouti and Eritrea are on my list for sure. I briefly got to see some Afar people with I visited Northern Ethiopia 2 years ago. Ever since, I wanted to go back and spend time with them and learn some of the culture. Then covid hit and now a war in northern ET . I will have to travel to Eritrea and Djibouti for sure.
