I love that the sound effect for him throwing a punch is the sound of cracking open a soda can
I think soda popinski makes the soda can sound. I just looked the timing of the soda can sounds and his mouth and it matches.
Not many would spot it, or pay attention to it, but very impressive note is that even his grunts are fitting to Russians, be it when he hits or being hit. Because those DO vary from language to language, interestingly enough.
Such as his uppercut grunt “Эть», or his damaged grunts in title defense “Ай” and “Ой”. (“Ai” and “Oi”, compared to American “Ouch” and “Ow”.)
I know Swedes also say “Ai” and “Oi”.
He made some grammatical errors though that a lot of learners make, like when he said «мой любимый напиток (эта) победа”, the word “эта” doesn’t belong in that sentence
@@SargonPG3D The sentence is spelled correctly. It is just that the two particles "это" (is) and "эта" (that) sound the same in Russian.

No it is Buratino or Tarchun soda. Russian made soda created in USSR and given in orange soda machines in strrts with letter "Газированая вода".
technically it isnt soda, since he is implied to be drunk throughout the fight making it most likely vodka (since he was originally vodka drunkenski)
He literally says "for my health!" when he's about to drink his "soda", a popular saying before you drink alcohol mostly in slavic countries like poland and russia

Man fuck that challenge where you have to go a full round without losing a single heart. I had to memorize his entire order of punches and normal/double uppercuts for all of Round 1. Still one of my favorite characters though, he's super fun to fight.
Also, his audio cues make me crave soda, hearing that "CRACK" from opening a can of soda is so refreshing
