Now we need some of the budget 1440p 27" that are out there in the $220-250 range currently, even in the off brand stuff like KTC (which could actually be the OEM for a lot of manufacturers). Wow, good timing! I was right now shopping for a 1080p high refresh rate monitor and the G24F and AOC 24G2SP were on the top of my list. I still don't know which one to pick. No clear choice.
my brother bought the aoc and i have g24f2. Was able to compare them side by side. Color performance and contrast of g24 is better in my opinion. But aoc didnt had inverse ghosting issues like g24. But also g24 has height adjustable stand and overall ease of use and build quality was better. You can't go wrong with either of them but my choice will be g24f2 again
This is actually an amazing 1080p monitor. The level of quality and polish is way above the asking price, and would have cost you at least double a few years ago. It's so good it really puts into question "budget" monitors that have always hovered around $100. Many of these budget monitors are bottom barrel and you can tell immediately from poor colors and atrocious IPS glow and black uniformity. So why wouldn't you pay the extra $50 to get such a big jump in quality? It reminds me of buying pro Dell monitors back in the day, sure they were so much more expensive for the specs but when you actually used it the polish was immediately evident. Now you don't have to pay those prices, so I think in 2023 if you're settling for these super cheap IPS and VA you're just getting scammed. Cheap VAs still have smearing bad enough to make them bad for most games, and I've seen plenty of IPS with backlights so bad they're basically unusable, even for productivity. I blind bought the G24F2 based on the rep of the previous model and the fact it seemed to have an above average panel, and the bet paid off. These were actually super cheap when they first released at Microcenter at the end of last year; I walked out the door with one for like $120! Even as just a secondary monitor this is a good pickup now. My only complaints are you can sometimes see glue in the gap for the "frameless" design and IPS contrast still is nothing special, but decent black levels and uniformity alleviate this a lot (nothing is worse than IPS glow, ugh).
I have a serious question, why there are no 1440p 24 inch monitors out there? I know there are some TN or old stuff, but ppi on this size would feel amazing, almost like a 4k on a 32 inch.
That's what I want to, 24" 1440p and will not settle for anything else. There is an IPS monitor from AOC, AOC q24G2 and another from Philips 24M1N5500Z but nothing about them coming to the US or any legit place to order them, which is odd.
Anyone had a problem at the bottom of the screen? I had 1 horizontal line come up. Now It's like 10-15 small likes across the screen at the bottom. Soon later, white line jitter came up
Yep. Me too and my friends too. Turns out that is common problem for this monitor. Suck ass build quality. Had to return it to claim guarantee. I'll never buy from this brand again.
Yup mine has that problem to after 1 year usage, but on indonesian forum gigabyte RMA to GS27F from May till today late Agust still no news from gigabyte.
Lack of rotation on monitors absolutely kills my enthusiasm. My floor is slightly crooked, and it's enough that the monitor looks clearly lopsided and is really annoying. I get why they don't include it on a cheaper monitor like this, but I don't understand why the more expensive variants (like the M28U and M32U) don't include the option, especially for their price points.
That monitor has a 100 x 100 VESA mount. That way you'd also get rid of the annoying stands (wall mounts for example). They're not too expensive either.
Got a question for you. I've searched for weeks trying to find any example or definition for pg mini-oled as touted in Asrock's 34" monitor. Yet you journey down to actual specs and the panel is listed as VA. Isn't that an oxymoron and isn't rather misleading by Asrock or did some NEW tech show up. I've heard of mini-LED and micro-LED but never mini-OLED. Is it real? Talking about ASRock Phantom PG34WQ15R3A 34"
Just a suggestion, when reviewing height adjustable monitors mention its lowest possible height and tallest height in mm or inches. Manufacturers are often unclear in their websites of those facts. >_
A short important notice. In the crevices of the panel frame, there are small slots where dust can get in. After over a year of using this monitor, I've started to notice internal dust specks on the panel. I assume they have entered through these crevices... 😔
@@godofdefeat A small dust vacuum should suffice. However, beyond cleaning, I believe a better solution would be to prevent the issue. I've chosen to place a thin strip of matte transparent adhesive tape over the crevices, just the necessary to cover them. I hope this works.
Mine fully died with fullscreen striping 8 months into use. I used it at the max 180Hz and on reddit some people had it died around the same time as mine. Maybe only use 165Hz or just pick another higher end model for longevity
Can you test the Koorui 24e3 ? It‘s like $115 and according to optimumtech the best budget 1080p monitor 165hz, ips & apparently the same monitor as the pixio px248 pro
Hi! Any recommendation about the ASUS TUF VG249Q3A? I think that with this video I already ruled out the G24F 2, I need a monitor for Series S at 120 fps and this was one of the budget on my list. In the country where I am they do not sell the AOC 24G2 so it is not an option, sadly.
Hey Tim, great review! I recently got the Dell S2722DGM, which is a little bit old 1440p 165 Hz monitor, but I have been very impressed with its quality after trying myself a few other monitors (like the AOC CQ27G2), especially considering the low price tag (I got for 200 euros, but I saw it's often going under 200 dollars in US). I think this is definitely a bang for bucks, I hope you will considering it for review.
@@C0BEX That's the S2721DGF, which is a completely different monitor despite the similar name. That has an LG Nano IPS panel and costs more, despite now it's also going on sale many times. The one I have is a VA panel, generally much cheaper. In terms of specs they are very similar, but I think that for price and performance the 22 model is way more convenient. It has among the best response times for a budget VA I have ever seen (not as Odyssey G7 of course but better than most competitors in its price tag), and also quite good viewing angles and uniformity. Not very wide color gamut and no HDR but none has at that price, It has a very good panel for being a VA, with the usual advantages as deep blacks but much better in other areas than usual VAs. It took long time for me to find a panel like this that was not as pricey as the G7, which anyway I think has worse uniformity and view angles, at least the sample I checked.
Would you have any review about IPS 1440p 240hz? like Acer Nitro XV272UX, iiyama G-Master GB2790QSU-B1 Gold Phoenix, OMEN 27qs? the 2 first one have attractive price at the moment around 400euros
Wanted to get mobius ex 240 but its never in stock was thinking of getting this instead do t want the msi cause the one one i have had panel issue after 9 month any other better optins available
Question for anybody that may have used/owned/tested both: If there was the choice between this new or a used Alienware AW2521HF for the same price. Which one would be the wise pick?
What about LG 24gn60r or MSI g244f ? These two variants are currently on sale in my country which cost less than the aoc or gigabyte but I can’t really find many reviews on them

That's what I want to, 24" 1440p and will not settle for anything else. There is an IPS monitor from AOC, AOC q24G2 and another from Philips 24M1N5500Z but nothing about them coming to the US or any legit place to order them, which is odd.
When are you going to review the Corsair 27qhd240?
Please review the new gigabyte m27u
I'm planning to buy a monitor should i go for g27f 2 or g27q (not m27q)
Tim could you review the MSI G274QPX 27" it's a 240hz 1440p at 379.99 in the US since the gigabyte option hasn't been available.
Will you be reviewing new mini led monitors like Innocn 27m2v?
Anyone had a problem at the bottom of the screen? I had 1 horizontal line come up. Now It's like 10-15 small likes across the screen at the bottom. Soon later, white line jitter came up
Yep.
Me too and my friends too.
Turns out that is common problem for this monitor. Suck ass build quality.
Had to return it to claim guarantee.
I'll never buy from this brand again.
Yup mine has that problem to after 1 year usage, but on indonesian forum gigabyte RMA to GS27F from May till today late Agust still no news from gigabyte.
Same here. After 5 months used. Good thing it's under warrenty
I don't recommend this monitor. My bottom screen is full black that covers upto my task bar.
They're not too expensive either.
can you review the KTC H24T09P ? having a hard time choosing
Need ICC profile of This Gigabyte G24F 2. please share it.
Same here, if you have it I would greatly appreciate it if you share it bro 🫡
@monitorsunboxed If you guys calibrated the monitor why didn't you provide the icc profile we also want it calibrated
Please upload the calibrated icc profile this monitor. 🙏🙏🙏
Tim speaking of budget monitors, is it possible for you to test more Sceptre models, like the IPS 1440p 144hz/165hz offerings, thanks!
Review of Gigabytes M27U coming soon? 🙏
Is it real? Talking about ASRock Phantom PG34WQ15R3A 34"
Still waiting for Corsair 27QHD240 review
Just a suggestion, when reviewing height adjustable monitors mention its lowest possible height and tallest height in mm or inches. Manufacturers are often unclear in their websites of those facts. >_
Love your content as always, But can you please review the Koorui 24E3? Cause i just wanna know your opinion about that monitor
Hello, could you try and review the INNOCN 27M2V?
A short important notice. In the crevices of the panel frame, there are small slots where dust can get in. After over a year of using this monitor, I've started to notice internal dust specks on the panel. I assume they have entered through these crevices... 😔
Got any suggestions on how to clean em?
@@godofdefeat A small dust vacuum should suffice. However, beyond cleaning, I believe a better solution would be to prevent the issue. I've chosen to place a thin strip of matte transparent adhesive tape over the crevices, just the necessary to cover them. I hope this works.
Review of Samsung Oled G9 when?
Mine fully died with fullscreen striping 8 months into use. I used it at the max 180Hz and on reddit some people had it died around the same time as mine.
Maybe only use 165Hz or just pick another higher end model for longevity
Can you please tell me what will be the best monitor settings for gaming, thank you.
Can you test the Koorui 24e3 ?
It‘s like $115 and according to optimumtech the best budget 1080p monitor
165hz, ips & apparently the same monitor as the pixio px248 pro
Could you share the icc profile you did for this monitor?
Does it have speakers ?
They already reviewed a monitor which is probably just a variant of the same monitor you are mentioning, except it had DGF in the model name.
GIGABYTE M27Q-X seems to be discontinued. Any other recommendations for 27" 1440p IPS 240Hz?
Would you have any review about IPS 1440p 240hz? like Acer Nitro XV272UX, iiyama G-Master GB2790QSU-B1 Gold Phoenix, OMEN 27qs? the 2 first one have attractive price at the moment around 400euros

If there was the choice between this new or a used Alienware AW2521HF for the same price. Which one would be the wise pick?
New just always better

Does the original cable with it support 180 Hz or do I need to buy another cable?
Only HDMI cable in the box and not support higher than 144Hz. You need to buy the Display Port cable.
hey, can you guys test the Dell S2522HG?
