With terracotta pots I seal them with polyurethane, it's fast and effective. I might have colour on the inside but only down to where the soil would be. Love the sunflower look. 🌻
I just did this sunflower mold and used terracotta clay I got off Amazon. I put it on a terracotta pot with tight bond glue. Not dry so that it molds to the pot curves. Always use cornstarch in your molds to release the mold. Even with the terracotta clay. It actually gives it a really cool look. I took a little moss green and some ivory paints and dry brushed bottom and under rim where moss would age on it. Turned out great. I did the same thing to a smaller terracotta pot. But with a butter fly molds. Very cute. Actually something you can do with young crafters. ❤
I enjoy this Diy's the flower pots are so beautiful I love the sunflower one i been working on my own flower pots and using the IOD molds and Stamps so when I saw what you were doing today now I have more ideas. Thank you for sharing have a blessed day.
Another thing I haven't tried yet but have seen it done, is to use polyurethane to apply napkins and/or then seal as a top coat. Or use wax. I'm keen to try this and see how it works.
Wondering what you will do with these past beautiful pots, because they are way too pretty to put dirt into them. Lol. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Enjoyed it so much.
Really cute projects! TFS! (Just fyi- oxide ink is reactivated by water-or anything liquid- so that’s why it would all come off when you rub wax over it.) love that huge sunflower 🌻 I definitely need that. 😀
Thanks for your question! It depends on the sturdiness of the paper I’m gluing down. On really fragile napkins I do usually let it dry before adding the second coat.

I also found stays on ink unpredictable. I don’t have the same problem with IOD ink.
Your project sounds amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I’ve never tried the terracotta clay, I’m intrigued now!

Just found your channel and had to subscribe! Thanks for inspiring me to get out my terracotta pot! 😊
Thank you!
I love what you have done. I am just asking why you ad 2 lots of wax?
Are you referring to the antique & white? If so, just because that’s the look I wanted.
Did you let the sunflower dry before you painted it?
I let it dry for about an hour before painting it.
Do you let the mod podge dry before adding your top coat of midge pod

Locevthe sunflower pot.
Thank you!
What kind of clay was used?
DAS air dry clay.
Can you put real plants in these or will the moisture cause the finish to deteriorate
Great question! It is my understanding that the inside & outside of the pots would need a weatherproof sealer to protect them from the moisture.
@@lindadianedesigns1808 thank you so much for your response!
