So to address the elephant in the room, Yes the Audio sucks. I've recently moved to a new appartment and the setup is not great at current for audio recording. But I'm working on a fix, and if I spent too long proccessing it, the video would never have come out. Always room for improvement, but I think this lays a good base as somewhere to start!
Thanks for the explanation as to the trans issues with the game. I'd seen the idea being batted around, and this was the concise and clear explanation I needed. Though, I nearly choked on my tea when you said CDPR are claiming a *cyberpunk* game, of all things, is apolitical. They've missed the point of the genre by about an astronomical unit, whilst managing to politicise the marketing at every opportunity. It's got a kind of morbid poetry to it.
greatly enjoyed this video! i think you did a very good job with its script, i was interested throughout the whole way even as someone with zero interest in cyberpunk 2077. it may have just been on my side but the audio was a bit inconsistent in volume and generally quiet though.

I am having a hard time understanding why sexual objectification is a problem in a game/world where everyone is sexually objectified. I can understand the issues with the other things, but I am just a little stuck on where the poster, external from the other things, is a problem. I appreciate any light you can shed on this for me! Thank you!
Its more that its clear Trans Fetishism presented as "Commentary of the evil of advertising products," while CDPR use it to advertise their game. We cant look at it as isolated, its marketing has an alarming history of Transphobia, and CDPR is using Trans Fetishism in an advert while promoting their game which condems a companys use of Tran Fetishism to promote their drink.

I don't play this game, or any game, do I don't really know how fetishization works in night city/that universe. My channel is mostly non-gamer/writer reacts and comments on game trailers and pop culture, so I don't understand all the nuances within the universes of these games.
Its a complex issue so I get that. I think its best explained in a few ways The posters mere exsistance is concerning as to my understanding outside of the ability to customise your player characters genitalia (which is still rather...concerning) there isn't really any trans representation in the game (or atleast the promotional stuff) outside of borderline fetish art. Coupled with CDPRs history with trans representation, and their defence of it being basically "well its a nuanced critic of ad culture actually." As a seemingly handwaving attempt to avoid the point that the only representation of trans peoples is something invocative of fetish art within an advert for their game. The universe may feature more sexualisation than just this poster, but does it feature any more trans people? Yes other people are sexualised, but there not the only example of representation of that group in the game.

Then it wouldn't be the same issue, but because this is the only representation and it is fetoishized, it's problematic. I I hope that's right because I can really understand that. If there was only one black person in a game, and they were a drug dealer, or something, I would have a problem with it. But if there were a bunch of black people in the game and there was one who was a drug dealer I think that would be fine... Kind of sort of right??
