22/23 season - Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth all survived after promotion and now thriving 😂 And Brentford, Brighton and Villa are doing well after relatively recent promotions 👍🏻
It's got to the point where I don't believe anything that Goldstein says anymore. He just throws things out there just for the sake of filling airtime. There is no way on this earth that he actually would prefer a 16 team league. He'd be the first to call it boring and over too soon if there were 16 teams in the league.
He is so out of touch, supports a team that are legit untouchable and wants all teams that aren’t in the top 6 to be thrown to the wolves if you pardon the pun.
@hustler666100 I don't see how 16 teams affects how seriously big clubs take cup competition. They will still prioritise the league and UCL and rotate their squads during the league cup, and early rounds of the FA Cup.
Money is the issue, players on obscene money, UEFA/Fifa trying to milk as much money as possible. Clubs trying to make money to pay the players by playing stupid “tournaments” in Asia and the US, to try claw back revenue during pre season. Then over charging the actual fans for games and kits. If managers and players want to play less games, accept less money.
Imagine having a 16 team league and still getting your Burnleys, Southamptons, Norwichs getting promoted every other year. These teams are too good for the Championship and not good enough for a 20-team premier league, how do you think they'd get on in a 16-team league?! Surely it would only widen the gulf between the prem and the championship.
Sometimes stupid NPCs need to be reminded that in recent years Wigan and Birmingham won The FA Cup in the same year they were relegated. How many of the Premier League regulars wouldn't give an arm and a leg to win the FA Cup? Also, Wigan already in the Championship almost won The Charity Shield the next year. So what is a competitive team? Should clubs that have won nothing in more than 8 seasons be automatically relegated? Also, why does the Manchester City-controlled FA not allow clubs that want to compete to be able to buy players? I recall Manchester City buying at least 5 full squads until they got it right. So, certain clubs, including Wolves, Nottingham, and also giants like Newcastle are prevented from competing. So, why create a "Super League", because that is what is being proposed if the "Super Clubs" are unable to buy players, aside from Manchester City, that is?
changing teams numbers won't decrease the gap between top and bottom. The gap exists simply because teams at the top can massively outspend the other teams. It's only about money. A rich team can make huge risks on signings and be wrong and still have money. Bottom table teams don't have that option. Simple as, changing team numbers or doing anything other than normalizing spending is a red herring. And honestly many British fans like the league where only the richest ever win no matter how much they complain. they don' t want a truly level playing field.
So Everton have been unlucky but Saints who let in a late deflection vs Ispwich, missed a pen vs Man U then heads went and played well vs Forest havnt?
I'd reduce the number of clubs to 8 so that Clubs and "Nations" could play more irrelevant tournaments that nobody is interested in watching. Why not a European Championship every 6 months and a World Cup every year? The FA already destroyed the English game, might as well shove the spike into the small heart that is left. This, whatever this is, is not my football, Cheers.
'West Ham shouldn't be there with what they invested.' No, you ARE where you ARE. No matter money spent. What would make a difference in regards to losing a few teams in the PL? It'd still have same results in regards. Yes, there is a gap developing, but that's cause of the money. Simple as. The PL money will always ensure clubs in the divison will always ave a better chance, and if they go down, sure it'd take adjusting, but they'd already have a MASSIVE advantage over anyone else. Which will only keep getting worse and worse. Why? Cause we talk about the big six, well depending how certain clubs go, that'll increase to big seven, big eight, and so on. It's only going to get harder for clubs coming up, more so that it'll get to a point where only the clubs relegated will only keep coming back up.
Liverpool fan talking like the fan of a club with American owners. I will guarantee you that this is what American owners want. They don't want relegation - or as little as possible. Once the Americans get hold of Everton they will drive it.
Rubbish, leave the EPL alone. It is what fans want & dream of getting there that is & on that basis, Leicester would have never won it. It's the increased number of competitions is a problem
How about we split the league after 19 games. Top 10 play each other twice for the title and European places. Bottom 10 play for survival and relegation. Will make the premier league more competitive and balanced

the only pro for 16 teams is seeing big teams take domestic cups seriously. League wont be over early and a winter break is easily done
He is so out of touch, supports a team that are legit untouchable and wants all teams that aren’t in the top 6 to be thrown to the wolves if you pardon the pun.
He just asking a question
@colbysmith5825 he didn't just ask the question, he literally said he would prefer 16 teams over 20.

You don’t cut the prem. 20 teams perfect. He English game is good as it is. It’s bad enough with the rules changing every year.

Too many teams 😂😂 drop the carabao cup and add another 2 teams in the prem 👍🏻
Nah
Well what would man United have to play for each season then? We can’t take away their competition

Good point!

Why is a Man united fan from Essex talking about a 16 team league…
Its like they want every game to be a draw and wins are rare
To close the gap, increase EFL funding and waiver FFP for newly promoted clubs (or modify it to allow spending etc.)
It's about 16 competitive teams.
Coming back and getting them 🎉🎉🎉🎉

There are to many teams in the premier that aren't allowed to compete with the top 5.
So Everton have been unlucky but Saints who let in a late deflection vs Ispwich, missed a pen vs Man U then heads went and played well vs Forest havnt?
They were shocking vs forest

Everton is a prime example of Goldstein being wrong. They've been in the top flight the longest. So they should be 1 of if not the best club in it.
Too many teams? That's what makes the PL the best and most competitive league in world football. What a ridiculous conversation.
'West Ham shouldn't be there with what they invested.'
No, you ARE where you ARE. No matter money spent.

League cup would be great if you don’t include anyone who qualified for European cups
England only big 5 league with 2 cup conpetitions. Drop the carabao cup if they are playing too many games.
Talking about "two leagues"... Forest are unbeaten and just beat Liverpool.
Leave it as 20 teams, none of this 16 teams, split the league nonsense
Cut down on talksport hosts. Starting with Goldstein
Too many clubs? Okay if thst’s the case. Rekegate your united, city and spurs. There

West Ham fans were delusional last season.
Moyes had them punching up. They will reap what they sowed
most leagues in europe hafve 20 teams.
Only 3 leagues in Europe have 20 teams
Just get rid of Caraboa, and we’d be mostly clear of the fixture congestion issue. It’s redundant with FA cup
scrap the league cup make the prem 24 teams
Rubbish, leave the EPL alone. It is what fans want & dream of getting there that is & on that basis, Leicester would have never won it. It's the increased number of competitions is a problem
Carabao cup could be played without the premier league teams. I do see the arguement when teams doesn't seem to be competitive.
the issue with this is then sponsors dont pay because they want big teams for more views.

no lol. dont work due to home and away advantage
@@hustler666100 And yet the clown league that is SPL does that - plays each other three times and then league splits
