The first time I watched this, I wondered how the player could be absolutely sure that the additional arrow column was meant to be played on the opposite pad and wasn't just a copy of the original arrow column of the same direction. Looking more closely, I see that the first time the new arrow column is used, the player is already holding the original column of the same direction. So, that was pretty well thought-out.

+Mollocephalus That is a boss character made for this side-event. The reason why he looks so different to the graphical style of the file is partially because it was drawn for me by Taronuke. He is way better at drawing character sprites than me :P The character being there makes a bit more sense if you watch the rest of the stuff included in this side-event. The videos can be found on WinDEU's channel. The character kinda sorta is a silly representation of myself in the setting of the story of this event. Other people who made stuff for this event (WinDEU, SteveReen, Ducky and Taro) also have their own characters making wacky things happen to the arrows as well and as said, Taro did make the other character sprites as well. :D
+Mollocephalus I'm pretty sure you could just replace the sprite files with a transparent image. They seem to appear in SongName/playfield/chara/puuro with the file names of puuro_cast 2x2, puuro_esp 2x2, puuro_hurt, puuro_idle 3x1 and puuro_punch 4x2. All in PNG.
+PianoVideosJustForU (PVJFU) Oh yeah, that's a possible solution in case you don't like the character that much. I mean you might need to edit/replace the sprites but it's just a couple spritesheets anyways so it shouldn't be a huge effort. You may need to blank out the sprite sheet of the flame too. (appears at 0:26 and onwards)
+Hajansoru the Robot You can see that there's only right arrows coming up before it zooms out, so just keep tapping right to the rhythm when it's been zoomed out.
+hyper Reloader (Red) The course file isn't needed with this simfile. All the effects are loaded from the simfile enviroement, and this should show up in the regular dance mode menu. Nowadays course files are mainly used for loading the noteskins (as seen in the undertale stepfiles) because it's easier for people to set up than to edit the themes. Also, this file only works in 3.95 and openITG.
+hyper Reloader (Red) Oh also, this file HAS TO be run in 2 player mode, and you have to set up the difficulties for the players yourself. The difficulty numbers in this file represent the player number. Player 1 (left side) uses Expert 1 and P2 (right side, obviously) uses Hard 2.
+hyper Reloader (Red) This file can be loaded directly from the dance mode, and it's not supposed to show up in the marathon mode because it doesn't have a .crs file. Also, when playing this file, make sure you're using a 3D noteskin or the mask effects won't render.
+Igor McLven The program I use to play this is called OpenITG, you can download it from the openITG website. It's free and open source so finding it shouldn't be hard. It's basically a modified version of stepmania 3.95. Also keep in mind that this file can not be played in stepmania 5 because the effects wouldn't show up then.
+The Musician You need to play this in normal mode but with two players. This probably wouldn't work in double. The difficulty numbers in this file tell you that which side uses which difficulty. Expert 1 for P1 and Hard 2 for P2
Puurokulho I'm all about Modded Stepfiles! Regular ones does not really appeal to me. I find them too easy or not interesting. But you guys managed to keep me hooked! I always say "I can do better" everytime i play! I love them!
+comicalskeleton Basically, 3D models in Stepmania have this weird property that they also act as mask objects in some cases, so if you have a mask texture in an actorframe that has 3D depth in it, then the image will be drawn inside or around the playfield depending on how you set up the texture. You also need to have 0.05% bumpy active in order to make the holds 3D or the mask won't render on them. And if you use a 2D noteskin, the mask won't render in the tap notes and the hold heads. This doesn't work in stepmania 5 though.
Oh yeah, I actually noticed the 3D model masking bug by accident when working on something else and it just gave me the idea that this can have some actual use :D It's definitely an useful find because it has been utilized by people like WinDEU and Taronuke

+Puurokulho that makes sense, although i'd rather have a file without, look too goofy for my tastes :p
Keep up the gimmicks mang!

Puurokulho Yeah, forgot that too.

Are you the masked bear man?🤔
So...i somehow got error that the music file was outside the file
Ok, you need to put the stepfile inside ANOTHER folder, so its like a tree. From the main thing to the branch then you have leaves.
srry for being late, but how do you see the arrows at 2:09?
+Hajansoru the Robot You can see that there's only right arrows coming up before it zooms out, so just keep tapping right to the rhythm when it's been zoomed out.
oh
+Hajansoru the Robot hi
+Hajansoru the Robot keep pressing the same arrow you were pressing in each beat
ok
+Puurokulho heyy, weren't there suppose to be some course file? i dont think i have it with the download, and i don't see the course in-game. ;;

+Puurokulho wait, i actually found it, but in dance mode. shouldn't it be also in marathon mode too or?

Puurokulho ahh, alright. thanks!

Amazing! You could share me the program to play.

Puurokulho

How do the mask effects acually work?
+comicalskeleton Basically, 3D models in Stepmania have this weird property that they also act as mask objects in some cases, so if you have a mask texture in an actorframe that has 3D depth in it, then the image will be drawn inside or around the playfield depending on how you set up the texture. +Puurokulho To put it short, the actorframe should look something like this.
Wow I can't believe you figured all this out but that's extremely cool that your using the games flaws to your advantage.
Oh yeah, I actually noticed the 3D model masking bug by accident when working on something else and it just gave me the idea that this can have some actual use :D
