The recency bias is insane. He's a 90 point player which every team in the league would love to have and he's been probably the best playoff performer on the leafs outside of last year. He had 1 bad series this past year but outside of that he's got 50 points in 57 playoff games

@@armaansohi4829 he’s never been a playoff performer in the moments that matter. We all know Matthew’s, Marner and Nylander can link up together for points in game 1 through 5… after that is when they dry up. Marner is a great player if you want to beat Columbus 9-2 instead of 7-2 in the regular season, not if you actually are serious about winning a cup.

More like win a 20-50 years ago Windows but the Leafs need to clean up Kyle Dubas mess before been able to move forward. The team who have not progress in the last 57 years need to change it's loser culture, before moving to greener pasture. What is the leafs losing culture ? It's players who are more interrested to play videos games and other distraction and more interrest at filling their bank account. And the years of a cup less Maple Leafs will go from 57 to 100 years in no time because we keep thinking that next year will be our year. Instead of taking tough decision.
If not the Leafs will still been able to make the playoff for sure but the possibility to make it down the Playoff till the the Stanley Cup final will not be there. A team who continually made the play off sure but in the end make no progress ever a good enough team for the next 20 years.

The Leafs best before date was 1967...just kidding Leaf fans.
But seriously for the Leafs I give 3 years before it is more than torn apart traded away and in a state of rebuild. If I were Treliving I would want a top 6 forward to replace Marner and a top 4 d man and maybe some other pieces.
If I am the GM trading for Marner I would also want Nick Robertson in on trade as a reclamation project to add some potential value in the trade down the road.

Stop sounding like a real professional NHL Gm!
You should know by now that Toronto fans who go wild over Matthews, Marner, Nylander & Tavares have loved every minute of the Leaf's core-4! Who cares if some NHL teams (with almost the same total salary as Toronto's core-4) compete harder, go further in the playoffs, and show the ability to play in tight-checking games? I bet they don't sell as many jerseys, hang out with Justin Bieber, and make their investors as happy at board meetings.
