Poo Ninja, thanks for watching. The pickup cover is a useless piece of plastic that serves absolutely no purpose. Most people take it off because they claim it gets in their way when playing the bass. I leave it on because I only sit in my living room and play so it doesn't bother me and I want to keep the bass all original.
Yep super easy bridge to adjust in my opnion... & I love the looks of that pickup cover. Yes we all know its just for looks, & made to mimic the look of the Horseshoe Pickup cover (which actually created a magnetic field. Even though these don't, they look bad ass. Awesome video Nick!🎸🎸🎸🎸
Jay, thanks for watching, Great to hear you got a new 4003, they really are beautiful basses! I haven't seen the new bridge yet but I hear they're much easier to deal with.
I have a 4001. I've never worked on it at all. The truss rod set up is the part that worries me 🤣. Besides the fact that I'm a spaz 🤣. Thanks for the encouragement 👍
"I still have my pickup cover on". Well, that pretty much sums it up. You prefer to suffer. Others don't.
Thanks and Happy New Year!
@@bass-hiroshimanick2534 Thanks Nick! Happy New Year and thank you for your vids!
it’s not a mac truck lol!!!! that bridge is massive though
Hi Tiny Dragon, how are ya? Thanks so much and I really appreciate that you get my jokes.
What is the pick up cover for? I’ve never understood that? It’s like a filter on a cigarette, what are you shielding it from?

I did one better...i installed a BADASS BRIDGE. works just fine
Thanks for watching. I have a Badass II on my 4001 and I love it.
I love everything about Ricks except living with them lol.
NM, thanks for watching. Yes, the Rick is a bit of a challenge to live with.

Thanks Mike. I agree on both points; the bridge is relatively easy to deal with and the pickup cover looks great.
Message to anyone gigging: Set up your bass before the gig! 😁
Good advice Jay and luckily for me I only gig in my living room in front of the TV.
@@bass-hiroshimanick2534 Me too, sometimes in front of a camera. 😉
@@ThunderBassistJay, the second I hit the record button on my iPhone I completely forget how to play bass.
@@bass-hiroshimanick2534 I tend to forget the camera is rolling. Maybe because I've been doing many presentations and lectures...
@@ThunderBassistJay , being a presenter is good experience and training to be a performer. What type of presentations do you give?
I remember your videos when I was researching before I got my 2022 4003 delivered. Come to find out, THEY ACTUALLY REDESIGNED THE BRIDGE!

I refuse to take my pickup cover off. Not happening.
it looks cool, and thats all the reason i need. Makes a decent rest for your hand, too.
I agree, I keep the pickup cover on as well. Thanks for watching.
Im not turning screws, they are directly covered by the strings, so i cant get a frigging screwdriver in there :)
It is a bit of an inconvenience. Thanks again for watching, I appreciate the comments.
Nice guitar
Thank you Rocky Dawn!
Excellent
Thanks.
Great video Nick, that was awesome man 😀🤘
Thank you Adam!

Thanks you Daniel and you're welcome. I also have a 4001 from 1981, I love it!
