Wow Sam 👏 what an amazing job you and your Dad (brother & cousin) did on this shed. 🤩 This is a huge build, so intimidating, your such an inspiration. I really want to build myself a workshop and this is a great series to follow. I'm a total amateur builder but I have a miter saw and now a plan. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for this video! I watched a few other "DIY plank wall" videos but this was so easy to follow and I LOVE the idea of peel & stick. It's like hitting the easy button!
Looks amazing!!! Great job. I have a shed that I purchased but it's filled with junk at the moment. Every time I want to do any woodwork I have to drag all my equipment out then put it back up when I'm done for the day. Maybe one of these days I'll be like you. Again, great job and I really enjoyed your series. You are so talented.
Thank you, Tim! Hope you get your shop space soon! I won't miss the days of having to move my equipment in and out of my shed, but it does make me that much more appreciative of my new space!
Looks absolutely Brilliant and all the Ryobi gear hanging on the wall, i have Ryobi tools as well and i really need to get myself sorted. All my tools are in boxes and only come out when needed, all this has given me a massive boost to get sorted myself. Thanks for the video and also the series, and i'm looking forward to seeing these projects. Barry (ENG)
So glad you liked it! I don’t know if HD carries the peel and stick brand, but they do carry regular barn board! I have a tutorial on their website that teaches you how to install that as well. You can find the direct link on my website: diyhuntress.com/2017/10/diy-wood-accent-wall-laundry-room.html Good luck with your project! 😊
@@fuelishways Totally happening - maybe when it gets a little warmer, so I can have the door open to film. LOVING this size shed - such an upgrade for me!
My wife is doing this and at the top and bottom there are some horizontal slivers that need to be cut. Difficult because the floors and ceilings aren't perfectly level. The razor blade isn't very easy or efficient for these cuts. Are there any other tools you'd recommend for those?
Great Video Series for building the Shed. I do have a couple of questions to ask. I'll be starting my shed in a few weeks so wanted to make sure. Thanks in advance 1. How did you run your electricity?? Did you have to run it from somewhere else?? 2. I know you have Windows, but did you add gable vents???
Thank you so much! I’m so happy you enjoyed it! I hired a licensed electrician to run power to the shed from the house. I wasn’t touching that with a 10 foot pole... I don’t have vents in the shed (for now). By the time we finished the build it was getting cold, so I left it alone and used a space heater. I may put a small AC unit in there this summer, so not sure if I’m adding vents yet. Will post an update when I get there!
@@diyhuntressThanks for the quick reply. I got ya 👍🏾👍🏾. I'm not touching it either.😂. Keep up the Great Work. By the way I followed you in Twitter as well. Thanks again
Great job!! I was thinking of a 10'x10', but was concerned about the space; fitting table saw, etc. I now think a 12'x12' (how much more could it cost!) will be ideal! Thanks so much for share your journey, and all the best to you for 2019. :)
I love the size of my shed-shop! So excited for you and your journey! I’ll be sharing organization and space saving ideas next week, so definitely keep an eye out for ideas for your own space!
Serious question. Do these come off easy? I live in a rental and am trying to convert either my office or the large spare living room into a UA-cam/film studio. Was considering this method. Just covering the ugly egg shell white wall with some nice wood paneling. Any advice would be appreciated.
Have you considered having the She shed at your parents moved to your new place ?? You can get another one for your parents... then you don't have to worry about doing all of the work in there before you can use it when you have so much to do in your house ..
Oh! I learned something new! Umm maybe it's an obvious question but why do you need to leave the wood to acclimate to the shed before starting the project?
Not obvious and such a good question! Wood has to adjust to the moisture content and environment. of the room it’s being installed in. Otherwise, if you install it too dry it can expand later and cup or force other boards out of place. Hope this helps!
Great video but that stuff from Plank and Mill is ridiculously expensive, Over $600 for 50 sq ft. It's hard to justify peel and stick for that cost when you can by 1"x6"x6' pickets from Home Depot for $1.48 each. and spend $40.00 for some Odies oil and get as good of results.
I totally agree that it’s definitely a pricier product than pickets, but there are benefits to it. It’s much thinner and lighter than 1x6 and is a great option for people who don’t have many power tools, since they can be cut with a razor blade and stick without nails. I do know they do coupon codes a lot as well, so that helps. In any event, thanks for the pricing comparison! I think it’s helpful for people to have options. 😊
Yeah... definitely not the cheapest option. But, you pay for the convenience of install as well as the lightweight reclaimed boards. If you're looking for a more affordable option, pallet wood is a great alternative (and most times, free)!
Looks wonderful Sam 👍👍👍👍(and Dad)
Thanks so much, Gib! So excited to create cool stuff in this space!
This is superrrrrr cute. I love seeing women work with power tools and build stuff. It encourages me that I can do it too!

Seems like a good product to add a little character. Wondering can you use it over top dry wall

Hi! I wouldn’t recommend these if you are in a rental and looking to remove them. They will definitely ruin the drywall. 👎🏼
DIY Huntress what about attaching them to a piece of sheathing plywood and then hanging that? I can paint the wall as long as I paint it back.
That actually should work really well!
