I've seen the pilot. And if anything, it seems to be lacking a core and essential ingredient that I can't quite put my finger on.... Pilots usually hook you in with either intriguing plot premises, interesting story settings, or both. Destruna did both, I guess? This might be a really subjective take, but something just felt lacking to really engage me/get me to care about the story and the characters. Sometimes, it takes more than characters and setting to make a pilot grab you. Sometimes, it takes writing (e.g., good comedy, drama, action scenes, etc.) to really make it stand out from the rest of the other pilots... Like Destruna is a world where virtual interacts with the physical. Okay, we've seen that before. The main character wants to get the glasses to see his missing mother figure. Okay, we've seen this type of motivation before. There's a competition for said mcguffin and- yada yada yada we've seen this before! Is there anything else that might make this premise interesting!? It's mentioned that there's a competition for the One Wish, okay, why? Everyone already seems to have VR sci-fi tech, so what makes this one so special? Is there a class struggle like in the Hunger Games? Doesn't seem like it... so why should I care if Character X gets it, but the MC doesn't? And the action scenes... by goodness, they're kinda stale. Maybe lacking in energy?? Again, I.d.k. what exactly is wrong about the pilot, but I'm not the only one that sensed it...
You should potentially consider covering the youtube animator Daria Cohen one day. I've been watching her for years now and she was one of the first modern animation channels that kinda blew me away in terms of what individuals in the animation space are capable of on youtube.
I kinda agree. I've seen the pilot. Liked it. But if anything, it seems to be lacking a core and essential ingredient that I can't quite put my finger on.... Thanks for the interview, Ryan! Hopefully this helps other would-be show creators learn a thing or two about the development and pitching process
Hey
I loved Destruna for it's amazing visuals and I often feel like Don in my own life.
Hey there dolan 🥰
I already seen that pilot before, and a real pity It didn't go anywhere cause It has potential, and still better then Modern RWBY these days.

I did watch the pilot last year. I have been on an indie animation spree thanks to The Rhino and The Redbill
Honestly I wish him the best on trying to get any of his plots getting picked up.😺

I wished I had offered him my Blender skills of 10+ years
Destruna had a good plot and looked amazing. Life was just too cruel.
I kinda agree.
