Aww.... Marley !!!!! Good dog. Rest in a jamming phun philled peace. from your old 1.0 phish head Phil. I saw your dad this weekend and the Gorge Amphitheater. He's doing Great!
Always thought the middle section to glide sounds a lot like primus too :). Mikes bouncy bass tone and playing with treys cartoony guitar playing. One of the first things I thought of when I heard it tbh
My introduction to Phish by way of seeing this one late night on MTV. I thought they were a part of that wave of Alternative bands from that time period like Primus, Toad The Wet Sprocket, The Bevis Frond, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, etc. But I soon learned they're the Grateful Dead of the 90's and Millennium.
Yeah it's crazy they have all this footage but no footage of the actual New Year's Eve show. which is more than likely phish's greatest show. Absolutely no footage whatsoever
Looks like an ultra low budget film to me. Quirky like the band. I’m just surprised they opted for low production value. Anyway, love the band. Not sure I’ll watch this again though.
DEAR TREY PLEASE READ: i am being held by gunpoint to watch this music video by my friend Quentin. He said i must watch this video or else my family "get's it." I don't know what he means by that but I don't want to find out! Please help my sick friend
It is different tham anything Phish ever would have done 3 years prior. There were alot of people that have followed Phish since the 80s, and this was seen as a threat to the intimate scenes of playing bars and clubs. Remember that Phish was playing bars and clubs until just a year prior of this video. Phish was not known for its extended improv and type ll jamming. They did it a bit around 1987 (and I would say they pulled it off) but they were known as a goofy small mix of Zappa and the Dead, that plays just down the road from your house. It is something every band goes through and it did lead to them starting festivals 2 years later. Phish had a slow incline from 1986 - 1993. That's a long time of swooping little phishies up in the net as they gigged on. Many set sail with this video. I can totally see how and why they thought that.
Phish’s Touch Of Grey video. Honestly had no idea they ever attempted a music video, it’s not good, but it’s Phish as hell and it’s adorable.
You’re everywhere bruthuh !!
@@craigjohnson2614 "it’s Phish as hell" LOL! Indeed brother, indeed.
Damn this looks so low budget and corny but it’s simultaneously my favorite thing

Its April 2020 and the whole world is currently Down With Diease.. .
scammy scam scam
I like how the opening bassline to this song sounds alot like Primus. Actually this is probably the most Primusy song that they did.
Always thought the middle section to glide sounds a lot like primus too :). Mikes bouncy bass tone and playing with treys cartoony guitar playing. One of the first things I thought of when I heard it tbh
Harpua is pretty darn Primusy, Les even played on it at one show!
that’s what my brother said last night when I discovered this song n showed it to em!
MARLEY!!!!!!!
Tyler Penn: thanks for posting. This song rocks. At 2:18 the dog's underwater? Cheers!

And this is why Phish didn't do music videos.
That’s why we have New Years shows
Hoist is a fantastic album
When the clam opens its mouth, I realize Mike (as director) was explicitly foreshadowing the briefcase from Pulp Fiction.
bliss
I remember seeing this and Pavement’s “Cut your hair” vid in MTV rotation and thinking they were similar bands.
the music video was actually kinda cool imo, even if it isn’t that good
I don’t know why everyone’s hating on this music video?
The best part of this is Marley the dog! I thought this was bad in 1994, it's even worse 25 years later, LOL.
Trenton Sicola hey bro, are referring to the music?
@@formerlyskidsinmyute ,no the video.
Trenton Sicola ok
Coolest video ever
as good as any of the MTV videos of the day, I'd say...
whoa, NICE transfer!
what was the source??
Great song. Hilariously bad music video
I love you.
Doggo yellin stop stop is happy place.
Is the aquarium the same set they used for the 1993-94 New Years Eve show? (My only Phish NYE show).
Yes, at least the Clam is. All of the live footage was shot on film specifically for the music video New Years Eve 1993 at the Worcester Centrum
Yeah it's crazy they have all this footage but no footage of the actual New Year's Eve show. which is more than likely phish's greatest show. Absolutely no footage whatsoever
Marley!!
Anyone down with disease in 2020?
down with disease in 2024 (withdrawal)

Mike Gordon directed it.
Not much of a music video budget eh?
Where is Mike?
You can see me and a few of my friends at the :49 mark :)

No outsiders knew what they could’ve had.

BACK WHEN PHISH WAS PHUN!!!!
How can you say that. Yes we all likes phish 1.0 but 2 and 3 are good too. Live shows are incredible especially the NYE MSG shows.
Lol....get on lot.....we are all still having the times of our lives...
And the music is still top notch....hope you find phun agian....Phish on!!!
@@wyattsmith9791 I like your comment even though it's not grammatically correct.
@@davisleemiles3113 good thing it's UA-cam and not school. I don't spell check if it means nothing to me. Haha
Yep, I can see this being off putting to fans in 1994
I thought it was a cool video personally.
Why is everyone talking shit about this music video? What exactly is bad about it? Or what about it makes it not so good?
