I tried Ipsy once and said that I was VERY FAIR and liked natural makeup, they sent me dark orange bronzer and a burgundy liquid lip. Cancelled it immediately after lol

I've found out by emailing Ipsy,That they sometimes put things in your box that doesnt fit your profile cuz they want You to try new things out of your comfort zone.But what exactly they do the questionnaire for is silly, if they are just going to give Us other things still.
Christy Woods maybe they do the quiz so you’re certain to receive at least SOME things that you actually want. I still think you should be able to check a box if you want to receive different products sometimes.
I know marketing ..most of the products they give are old products that will go bad soon..so instead of throwing them..they came up with the ipsy bag.

Not saying the products are bad...they are just new ones, so instead of throwing them and loosing money..a third part (ipsy) comes in to buy them and seek a them to you.

I got a skincare bag from Ipsy. I have problems with bags under my eyes and redness around my eyes, I got a Ipsy skincare bag and it had stuff to help my face.
When you do this, you can do on Ipsy and rate(?) how your bag was. My sister does Ipsy and she said they really listen. She got like 4 black eyeliners the first four bags. So she said she didn’t want eyeliners again, and never got one again. But selected she wants brushes and she’s gotten two brushes the last two bags!

Ipsy sends you amazing and expensive brushes which I love. Also they do send expensive skin care too. So always make sure to review and be honest and tell them you do not like a product. Hoping you enjoy it ♥️
Dawn Sullivan saw thank you! I was subbed to Birchbox like over a year ago. And i didn’t mind it. Mainly cause i just liked getting stuff in the mail lmfao. However they got rid of their points program. And i subbed to allure only for a month to get Jaclyn hills box, and they were suppose to give tarte blushes, but ran out and didn’t tell majority of the people. They started sending out random products, some people got full new boxes, some got cargo eyeliners. I tried to ask them what i was gettin and basically they were like ITS A MYSTERY. I got a under eye aging cream... but I’m 20 lol. I don’t need that. So emailed them again about how what their doing is unfair and not professional. Never got an apology. I just got “ohp we’ll send you the box”
Jessica Reich I got a broken highlighter in my Birchbox and they were like we will send you a coupon. I was like wait what.. I wanted that highlighter lol I just felt like their customer service was off in the products they send weren't worth it, matter of fact the last month I got a awesome primer. It was almost like a regular size tube. You won't believe it but it had 1 use in it lol I was like did someone use this before putting it in the box. Cuz the protection seal wasn't on it. I went on the site and everyone was upset cuz they got empty tubes.
Have you ever heard of Boxy Charm? Omg sweetie it's the best. I started 3 months ago and the full sized products are so good. So far I got 2 palattes, brushes, primer, amazing lippies. This is going to sound funny but when I opened my first box I cried a little due to happiness I just couldn't believe how awesome the products were lol

I did not like the skincare bag if I get a ipsy subscription like I've been considering and got a skincare heavy bag which would be my bag of choice I would be very unhappy
Alexandria Ryan I received the highlight and Luna eyeshadow as well as a kokie liquid lip but in the shade mad about mauve which is typical but I agree it's a pretty dry formula that you have to layer a bit
Everytime I realize that you posted a video I start to watch it and my boyfriend now recognizes your voice and pauses whatever show or video game he is playing... so thank you for making him stop playing Red Dead but also being the only subscription box person on UA-cam (or just makeup in general) that is relatable. THANK YOU. That’s why you are loved, bc you never try to be anything else but yourself!
Just a note that one of ipsy's goals is to try to get you to play with products you otherwise wouldn't, so I feel it's fair they gave you some regular beauty items in the skincare bag. Also, you can look on the ipsy website to see a full list of what products were even possible to get that round...So you might have a check sheet of 2/4 of the skincare products? Or 3/3? I don't know how many are typical...But if they only have 2 possible skincare products they'll have to fill the remaining 3 slots with something else. Another note, they also have a theme with each bag. The January bag you have is supposed to be like a "prepare yourself to reach your goals" bag. So it seems fair they gave you a skincare product in the no skincare bags. I promise I'm not paid by ipsy haha...and I love this video idea! Just a couple ways you could make this a bit more of a fair review of the bags.

This might be an unpopular opinion but.. I HATE getting Bella Pierre in sub boxes. I feel like the given "value" of the products are inflated and the color correcting palette I got in boxycharm smells and feels like crayons 😅 plus the packaging of their brow gel is an basically an exact replica of a Rimmel gel eyeliner they (sadly) discontinued or repackaged a while back
Samantha Turner totally agree! It seems like one of those brands that was created for subscription boxes like manna kadar. You never see them anywhere else!
Samantha Turner I actually like the Bella Piere brow gel. I don’t use the brush, just the gel with my own angle brush. There are nights where I sleep with my brows done so I have less to do in the morning since it’s time consuming and this is actually the only gel that stays put. It’s the only item from that brand I have received in my bags so I guess I haven’t experienced the load of them haha
XMyChemx4xLifex I don't have anything against the brand really, I just think they're one of those overpriced brands that even if they are in store they're "discounted" so the price is more realistic. I haven't tried any of the items I've gotten in boxes just because I haven't had a use for them
I just dont like bella pierre because i used to see them in the mall kiosks all the time and they were very agressive when you walked by so i kind of hold a grudge from that haha.
I love the twinkling lights in the background! The black look so nice. Also that purple eyeshadow is so pretty I wish I got that in my bag!

My perfect Ipsy bag would be makeup, makeup, makeup all makeup!!! Are you doing the reviews every month? I feel like the profile is simply a jumping off point. I think my reviews help to further customize my bag. And when I make changes I see a result. Example-i didn't want brushes/tools in my bags, and once I changed that I am now getting my second brush. Reviews seem to mean more than the profile.
Yes, I have been doing them I just think it will take a little while to really make a difference :)
Reviews do seem to have a huge effect!! I was receiving black eyeliners in EVERY bag for months but when I complained a few times, I stopped getting so many eyeliners like before!! Also, I always review Luxie brushes high & I seem to get them every time they're offered in a bag!! I am definitely enjoying this "experiment" tho!! It's great seeing all the different products you get each month!! I'm a new subscriber but I'm really loving your channel quite a lot!!
Reviews make a big difference. I put in I don't want eyeliner and I stopped getting it. And hair care as well

I think everyone got the highlighter. I like everything i got on my bag. I got an eyeshadow brush, eyelure eyeshadow, the highlighter, thr ciate eyeliner and 2 face masks. Lol. I wish i could afford to get 3 ipsys. Love the videos!

I'm glad I stuck to boxycharm instead of ipsy...so many black liners and the same *tiny* balm samples over and over. Also Kokie is Wal-Mart makeup, so that's kinda disappointing for a subscription bag. Thanks for doing these videos!!

I've read before that Ipsy has set groups of items each month and they use our profiles to decide which bundle of 5 preselected items best fit for each person. So like, you can't get an ipsy with just skin care, but they'll give you the set of items that best fits your skin care preferences then you also get whatever else comes in that set with those items. That's why we see so many people getting the same things.. but I'm definitely not sure if that's right. Just something I read.
The violet eyeshadow reminded me of my trip to Ulta recently. Butter London came out with Pantone color of the year, 2 violet nail polishes (matte & metallic) & a violet cream eyeshadow. I bought the eyeshadow which is stunning. However, the polishes were very pretty too.
The makeup with the pink lipcolor looks beautiful. Great for spring/summer.

I love this series, I thought about doing it with TopBox, very similar if not identical to Ipsy. I loved the purple eye shadow, it's not one of my go-to colors but it looked nice on you!
I cancelled my ipsy because I stopped getting excited for it, and switched to boxycharm. However, that first ipsy bag you got was really nice! I got the fierce flicks eyeliner in an ipsy several months ago and love it!

I have a horrible time trying to keep nail polish on my nails as well. Try the Wet and Wild One Step Wonder gel nail polish. It stays on for almost a week for me. Never experienced anything like it!
The third bag is exactly what I got down to the brow gel. Lol 😂. And I put that I’m comfortable with makeup and hair care. I’ve been subbed to ipsy since 2015 this is my “original” profile. So I don’t know if saying no to the makeup or haircare made a difference? I’ve been wanting to get another ipsy bag to compare also! Great idea

Hey! You should try gel nail polish. I have a very hard time keeping nail polish on my fingers as well and now that I have found gel nail polish I will never go back to regular! Also keep up all the good work I love watching you videos! I have been getting Ipsy for about a year and a half and I love it, but they still haven’t got my profile down to a T. All that being said I love Ipsy and I’m very glad you make relatable videos.

I finally resubbed to ipsy after a few years of taking a break. I really love my first bag back. I got Cake by Cake Beauty body cream (I love smelling like cake no joke haha), I got the charcoal mask that you got and I'm excited to try it out, I got the brow gel you got in the darker color which is perfect (my hair color is similar to yours), the So Susan lippie in Raisin Flesh (gorgeous berry), and the balm highlighter. I love it all and will use it all.
My mom and I always get the same products in our bags.... I’m not sure if we just happened to have selected the same options... but I have dark red hair and brown eyes, my mom is platinum blonde and has bright blue eyes.. I don’t feel like the bags are very personalized at all... but I do enjoy getting them.

I love the purple eyeshadow on you & I’m also loving the pink lip color. I know it’s not skincare but I guess you could consider nail polish not technically makeup. I must be the only person who didn’t get the MaryLu-minizer this month. Have you opted out of any categories with any of your Ipsy bags? I play around with my profile every other month or so just to see if that makes a difference & I think it does. I’m also more stingy with the ratings on my reviews. These past 4-5 months my bags have been much improved than when I started a year ago, I really loved the 70s adult movie music that played during this video (that’s what it sounded like to me anyway.)

That lipstick looks great. I keep getting ugly pink mauve,nude shades that look awful. I'e been with ipsy 5yrs or more and the past year they have went downhill. I am canceling next month if it don' get better

I REALLY like the "adventurous" makeup look on you way more than the neutral colors. The neutral looked good, don't get me wrong. But girl! Rock that bold look!!!
The real chemistry cleanser is really good. I got that size sample a few months back and it lasted me almost a month using it almost every day because you really don’t need to much product. I really like that brand but it is kind of pricey.
I also received the furless eyeshadow (and couldn't get the top back on correctly as well haha), and honestly I don't know if I'm using it wrong or if it's just a bad product?? It looks like a gorgeous shimmery purple in the packaging, but then I try it on and it just looks like smudged charcoal. The purple isn't even visible. Sure, it looks purple the initial time I swipe it...but any blending I try to do or if I touch it the slightest bit one more time, it looks terrible. Really heartbroken about it since it looked so nice initially :'( oh

The lip scrub is almost mandatory if you use bright or vibrant lip colors because all the tiniest imperfections or chapped parts are super visible. So maybe it's to get you ready for coming months?

My coloring and ipsy profile preferences are very similar to yours for the first bag and my January bag had all the same products except instead of eyeshadow I had the charcoal mask in your 3rd bag because I checked send me skincare. I feel like they do a good job listening. I loved all the products except the pumpkin liquid lipstick. Didn't like the color. The CC hair cream is the best thing I've ever tried.

I got the Ciate Liquid Eyeliner months ago from Ipsy, I even did a review video on my channel. I opened the lid and it literally went everywhere on me, my clothing, my hands, etc. I too got Juliet eyeshadow. I used it yesterday. I like it. I've gotten a face, and then a body mask from the Real Chemestry from Ipsy before.
This might seem odd but I am obsessed that the chalkboard behind you lists the subject matter! It makes me feel like I'm in school 🏫 (but in a good way! 😂).

I had this video recommended to me and I had to check the date on it to make sure. I used ipsy quite frequently years ago and I swear I've gotten half of these samples before!!? It's kind of sad for me to see that they don't keep things very current, but maybe they don't send repeats if you've gotten them already. either way this video was very interesting and I loved your overall demeanor on camera!! it would be cool to see a video like this with birchbox maybe because I know I had a horrible issue with them only sending me skincare/haircare after I specifically requested otherwise, but like Ipsy that was years ago so it'd be interesting to see if they've changed at all!

I was missing my eye shadow from my bag. Emailed Ipsy and they got back to me in less then a day and they are sending my eye shadow to me already :) I love Ipsy!!!! Love watching your videos you have the same personality I have. I love thr cake by cake body balm smells so good and so softening. I got the lip scrub yummy smells soooo good
I can't keep nail polish on my nails either, but if I use a ridge filling base coat it helps. Enjoy this series! 😊

Hi Alexandria, I love watching your videos and your rambling. I received the same eyeliner, charcoal mask, eyeshadow, lipstick, as you did as well as a coffee scrub. Loved the shadow and it looks great on you. You are right about the lipstick being the wrong color for you, the other shade, which I got, would have been better. It was more of a pinkish brown color.

Mary Lou-Manizer is a great highlighter! The trick is to apply it to a brush and then spray the brush with water or toner or setting spray, this gives it a glow. Orangey lipstick would look great on you.

The more I give feedback on my items in Ipsy, I find that over the last year my bags have gotten better and now, almost perfect. I do comment on each item saying what I love or didn't in the comment section of the review bag. I don't know if you do that, but it's really helped my bags turn out better. Your looks are both beautiful! I like those bright colors, the eyes and lips... Maybe for a night in spring at a low lit restaurant? ❤ 💄 💋

I love my IPSY bags. I've been a member for over two years. Extremely happy. I tried another one along with it for 6 mo. I PAY was sooo much better. If you want certain shades or colors put it in your profile
