A great, VERY detailed, video. If you want to try just replacing the bulb without removing the headlight assembly, skip the first 16 minutes. You might be able to replace the bulb in that amount of time. :-)

And I could not have done it without this video. I also want to point out that this was the only video I watched that mentioned the hard to reach bolt and it not needing to be taken off. That right there. Thank you. I highly recommend this video.
You don't have to take the whole assembly out, but I am glad you did so we can see the attachment. Thank you for doing that. Give me a lot of confidence to replace mine tomorrow.

Hold up.. why is this video 19 minutes long?! I just changed mine in legit 2 minutes.. didn't remove assembly Edit after watching: very detailed. Great video for beginners.
Super easy to replace and you do not need to remove the entire headlight assembly. Just unplug power and pop off cover. Turn light bulb counter clockwise and pull out. Then just pop in new one turn into place and your done. Takes a few minutes to change and no tools needed.
I was having trouble with the assembly. My son plugged it in as you described. Less than a minute. Please tell me why a garage would charge $67 labour to replace it.
Thank you for the instructions. My 2009 Sonata's bulb just burned out and will be changing both at the same time because surely the other one will also burn out. I'm glad the bulb slides in unlike my 2006 Tucson which you have to take out the bulb with the wiring and unclip the clip. I'm surprised the bulb lasted 12 years! I ordered my bulb at Walmart which is $6 cheaper than Oreillys.

Honestly, you don't even need to remove the housing. Just twist off the cap, twist the old one out, twist the new one in, and replace the cap. I just finished changing my low-beam with no tools and it took less than five minutes.

@@achillesmtzb.9006 I do not have the details on 2006 Sonata but if you got to any auto parts show or online catalog, I think they can match the bulb for you for that year model.
If you don’t remove the entire assembly and choose to do the easier way, do you still have to disconnect the power source first? I want to assume that you don’t need to since you didn’t in the video, but wanted to double check.
I think it's always safer to disconnect the power and it's pretty easy to do it. Its been a while and if I did not disconnect then it shud be fine. But suggest you to disconnect it.
