Don't forget ..Miku (red flower/band founder/rhythm guitar) could not play a note when she formed BAND-MAID...She was taught to play "on the job"..by Kanami (lead guitar)..Now she has her own Signature Zemaitis guitar called 🕊"The Flappy Pigeon".🕊..Miku's efforts, hard work and dedication to making her band a success should never be ignored....Go Miku!!.🕊🥰
The drummers of BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES know each other and have published pictures together. A few months ago on DragonForce's channel, Herman Li interviewed Saki of Nemophila and asked her if all of the Japanese bands knew each other. Saki said she knows BAND-MAID and that her and Miyako of LOVEBITES exchange birthday gifts every year. I can think of a lot of crossovers these Japanese bands have had.
Band Maid have a song called Warning and they are friends and fans across social media of The Warning, I've not read anything about their name coming from BM's song. Band Maid and The Warning were able to meet at The Aftershock Festival a few months ago, videos of the meet are about. Don't think there is a name connection with Lovebites. Something that seems to be apparent with the japanese bands is that they all seem to be friendly and supportive of each other.
@@waynedahlen9655 LOVEBITES named themselves after the HALESTORM song 'Love Bites (So Do I)'. Asami even performed that song live in concert with HALESTORM. Pretty amazing to see Lzzy Hale in heels towering above the tiny 4' 10'' Asami. 😁
This is an Anime opening they were commissioned to write for Log Horizon season 3. This is just one reason it is Different. As much as I love Band Maid (#1 favorite), still looking forward to seeing you check out Nemophila (#2 favorite). Their song Raitei might be a good one. ua-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/v-deo.html
I think you might like the song 'Wonderland' live. It's a different sound from what you've heard previously. It really showcases Saiki's vocals, and has an uplifting, jazzy feel to it - ua-cam.com/video/x4hxLeHbqZo/v-deo.html Or go for the acoustic version of 'Catharsis' for, yet again, a totally different vibe - ua-cam.com/video/tx9h41gaNo0/v-deo.html
"Different" is the seventh single by Japanese rock band Band-Maid, released in Japan on December 2, 2020, by Nippon Crown. The song was used as the opening theme song for the third season of the anime Log Horizon.
This is one of the rare song, which made me feel so excited, without a guitar solo. What I love about this, is the stunning drum and the vocal! Comparing to Lovebites, one obvious difference is the grooves, the bassist and the drummer creates. Lovebites sounds more like speed heavy metal.
As far as I know japanese all female rock/metal bands have been a thing since the 80s. There was a band, I forgot the name, but the female singer organises a festivl for all female bands that has been instrumental in suporting and kickstarting young female talent. Need to look this up again... I only saw it in comments to another video and listened to a single song of that 80s band but it's been a while.
Band Maid and Lovebites plus several other Japanese bands take female musicianship to another level. Try Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood, Doll$ Boxx, Hagane, Hanabie, Asterism (female lead guitar) and Sokoninaru( female bass)
Great and friendly group. They perform live and play instruments. So much great music coming out of Japan now and if they tour near you go check them out.
If I remember correctly, they stopped as a band around the year 2000. Little note: Maria Sjöholm married Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, and is now retired from music.
When I lived in west Houston, the Spring Branch school district required incoming sixth graders to take band, symphony or choir. Don’t know if that is still true or not. Ironically, I moved just before that to another district, and never did take any music. I want to hear some of those SueSue detention stories.
I was born in Houston and lived there my first six years. Then my parents moved back after I finished high school. We lived in the Memorial City area since the 60's and then in the late 90's my folks sold the house and moved to Sugarland. As far as detention==I've got a lot of good stories lol
@@SueSueandthewolfman I lived in the Spring Branch area from ‘72-76, 2nd grade through 5th grade, then to Lake Houston area for middle and high school. Look forward to hearing some of those stories then. I don’t have any that are particularly interesting. I did get detention once in high school after an algebra teacher found a list a friend and I made in typing class, on free typing day, like two weeks earlier (not sure why he kept it). We typed up as many words as we could think of that referred to women’s breasts, for whatever reason. (Though it did include scientific and clinical terminology). I never really got into that much trouble. Happy New Year!
Hey! People like me enjoying Ban-Maid. I suggest that you try some of their live videos, Domination, Freedom. Or some of their quieter pieces; Daydreaming, Anemone. Also, great shirt wolfman.
Halestorm has a song called "Love Bites and So Do I!" Band-Maid has just over 140 songs so far, but none named "Love Bites". Check out "Sense", another anime opening theme.
The best american female hard rock band from the 70's was The Runaways, and the US hated them. Actually ironically tho on the subject, Japan loved them.
Well...Akane ("Band Maid", drummer), is fairly good friends with Haruna ("Lovebites", drummer); Akane ("Band Maid", drummer) and Tamu ("Nemophila", drummer) are great admirers of Nao ("Maximum the Hormone", drummer); And, since you "mentioned" Spanish, the members of "Band Maid" (Japan) and of "The Warning" (Mexico) are part of a mutual-admiration society. (No males are allowed to take part in this "play").
I have my own nicknames for all the Band Maid members. They are Saiki Atsumi, the lead vocalist, "Sexy Vamp Diva", Misa, the bassist with such a funk groove, "The Japanese Soul Sister", Akane Hirosi, the drummer, "The Joyful Heartbeat", Miku Kobato, the backup vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and main lyricist, "The Happy, Hoppy Pigeon", and Kanami Soto, the lead guitarist (and a classically trained pianist) and composer of most of their music, the "Wonderful Little Genius".
Band-Maid's 10 year anniversary is in 2023. (They do NOT have a song called Love Bites!)

Lo que hace diferente a BAND-MAID de cualquier otra Banda es la musicalidad que le dan a todo lo que componen, es uno de sus sellos identificativos.
