Just found your channel. I have a question. Do you have a windshield cover for the outside of the van? It helps to keep the windshield clean of frost or ice. Living here in Colorado, we have used our to help protect from hail. We stick cushions under it when we know hail is coming.
No disrespect, please slow your camera when panning so we can appreciate what you’re filming. On another note, the history you provide is very appreciated.
I’m so glad to watch you guys for the first time! And you both are so down to earth, I drove to deadwood back in 1980’s Keep up with amazing blogs!! Seriously
Awwe, poor kitties. Most cats and dogs are terrified of storms and especially hail. Imagine how loud that must sound to their ears. You were so sweet to comfort them.
Back in that era, of the 1870's, that place, and others like it, are really known for: "Booze, Brothels, & Bullets".....😂 Can you imagine.....how they lived? And all of society, today, is spoiled to laziness, spoiled to convenience, running water, paved roads, toilets, refrigeration, and fast food, etc. Actually, it would good to remember how little human beings can do for themselves compared to how human beings survived & thrived back in those days. It's sad that society didn't carry the ethics, dignity, morals, self-respect, and pride of accomplishment that our ancestors had in achieving their goals and dreams. Anywsy....hubby & I are now looking to visit Deadwood because of your AWESOME video. So much info on things to do, places to see, and and how wonderful the people of Deadwood are! Deadwood's Chamber of Commerce & South Dakota's tourism should hire you two to create a "Visit SD/Deadwood" advertisement, as your enthusiasm would draw folks to visit SD/Deadwood. Your humor & enthusiasm....and your AWESOME videography skills really drew us in. Heck....you could even edit this video down to an advertising video, by using the highlights (there's so much to see).....so much to do and see here! LOVE IT!!❤❤❤
Oh the cats were so scared. I like how she comforted them. She was right for him to check the solar panels in the morning. Keep it safe. Looked real good the way she seasoned the onions for the bratwurst!🌭 I want to make one now. New sub here.
We were in Deadwood last year! Drove out from NYC- We took a trailer to SD years ago too- so fun! Glad you were ok! On the drive back last year we drove down the coast of WI to Chicago and on to Indiana late at night and the thunderstorms all around us were absolutely terrifying! Huge bolts of lightning and heavy rain- we were praying the whole time.
I so loved this video,😊. We took our dogs to Mt Rushmore and they loved all the people petting them! Great Places, Great Spaces, South Dakota! So happy to see you out of Vegas. Have fun discovering the rest of these great states!♥️
Thank you Gailee. Glad you enjoyed the video. We had a great time exploring SD! By the way, Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for up-to-date info from where we are, meetups, tips, video releases, and more. www.turnitupworld.com/newsletter
I hate hail season here in SD. I have lost many plants to hail. Now, hail netting up every spring to fall! I believe that same storm system you were in was creating tornado warnings to the east/north east of you. I am glad you are ok! 💜
CW, thanks! Yes, we were also in a tornado warning the first night we were in Deadwood, but luckily missed the storms. Deadwood definitely gets some crazy weather in the summer months! We still had a great time visiting the area!
That's a pretty light hail storm for Lead/Deadwood! Worst I experienced when I lived there was busted out car windows and about $20k damaged to one of our cars. Looked like snow drifts of ice chunks, sounded like the building we took shelter in was going to come down. Those nasty storms can be intense in the black hills 🤣
Glad there was no damage to the oar panels. This was a great video, would love to visit Deadwood it looks awesome! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
I took a 4-mo trip in my micro camper van last summer. I visited SPs and NPs in Indiana, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, California, and Arizona. My favorite spot was the Black Hills of SD (which is rather "green" for the most part). I will be going back for sure.
Omg...I was so frightened by the hail even watching this. I can't imagine being in the rv with this going on. oh my. Even before watching the entire video, I can certainly see why its a traumatic experience.
Raveena, we were pretty freaked out! It was our first hail storm in Desert Snow and the noise from the hail was scary. Thanks so much for watching, we appreciate it!
That is SD weather, you were very lucky it was only pea sized hail. We lost our roof vent covers one year due to golf ball sized hail while staying at Deerfield Reservoir.
Sorry you guys experienced South Dakotas chaotic weather. Just be glad you were here on May 12th, I haven't be over to Castlewood since the week after the tornados but I'm pretty sure they're still recovering
The weather will be a great memory. Sunny nice days are a dime a dozen. The violence of mother nature is awesome to behold. Would you remember all the good lunches? NOPE but the storms? Oh yes. I'm happy for them
I absoluutly love you so much your one amazing lady so kind and so loveing towards animals and so beautiful. Im new here and so glad I found you and hubby. Im from South Africa and really enjoyd this video so so much.
Tent camping with my granddaughters a few years back. Massive rain storm that I could see coming. Found out months later after we had left the area that a tornado had traveled up spearfish canyon. The other side of the Mountian in front of out campground is where it pulled up! Didn’t realize at the time what had happened because we pulled out heading to Devils Tower for the 4th of July!
So happy the panels withstood the hail storm. 🙌🏽 I took my daughters to Deadwood back in 2004 during our family road trip across the country. They loooved it. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. It brought back many memories for me. BTW.....have you ever seen the Deadwood series on HBO? It gives a perfect example of how the town really looked in 1876.
My husband and I went to Deadwood three years ago for our forty two years of marriage had a blast!! Enjoy your videos!! Take care and God Bless You Both 💘
Hi guys I just discovered your channel this weekend and have been watching alot of your videos I am really enjoying them and going to continue to watch more
My family is from South Dakota, and we go up to the Black Hills every year. We stay in a place about 10 miles from Deadwood called Nemo, South Dakota...and I will tell you, at least once every year/trip, we have massive hail. Two years ago, it was golf ball to lacrosse ball sized hail. It was absolutely BRUTAL! I am so sorry for you having to experience that! It's pretty scary!
Glad you enjoyed your trip to the great SD! That radio trailer really brought back some memories for me. My dad worked for the radio station in Yankton and we would haul it (or one just like it) to various events for promotions. Thanks for that! God bless yall!
So when you was in lava Hot springs over by mccammond you need to go up North and visit Ennis Montana at 11 mi from there is Virginia City you guys would love that it's all set back in time very cool place
Softball, Grapefruit size in North Texas. I will never, ever forget that day. I left Houston at age of 40 because I could not take the Hurricane's anymore, moved from North Texas because I could not take the Tornado's and Hail after 10 years. Jeez!! is there anywhere
I live in North Dakota and hail is common up here too. We r campers too and it always sounds so bad inside the RV. Thank goodness it was tiny hail. My friend was in deadwood and had softball size hail and broke out the windows in her car 😢
Y'all are livin the life, looks like so much fun. ( not the scary part ) but all the fun adventures. *Wow Deadwood looks like a really fun place to visit. And that KOA camp very nice, clean.
Thanks, I am a new subscriber. I really enjoyed you guys sharing your trip with me; it put a smile on my face….😬😬😬 Love your energy; may God bless and watch over you both!…❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely Love you guys!!! What a breath of fresh air. Being sick with bronchitis, watching the world fall apart, politics left vs right mirage while the elite are hurting us both. You guys are so amazing. If everyone was like you 2 there would be more peace and harmony in the world
P.S. I commented on someone else’s comment, but since I live here in South Dakota and am in the Black Hills often, I wanted to leave my vote for Best Burger!! And I’m very confident that the absolute Best Burger in the Hills, will be found at, “The Sled Haus!” Located in Lead, S.D, just a couple minutes up the road from Deadwood. If you haven’t eaten there, it’s worth an entire trip, to anyone who reads this. But the food is good everywhere, because it’s so bitter cold 🥶 in the Winter, we have plenty of time to perfect our recipes. And where else can you get a good buffalo burger?!🍔😊👍🌻
Rainy, thanks, you’re making us hungry! We had awesome burgers in Lead at the Boar’s Nest, so The Sled Haus must be amazing! We loved the area and hope to make it back soon. Have you lived in South Dakota you’re whole life?
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld Haha, it made me hungry to mention The Sled Haus, as well, and I’m several hours away! Lol Actually, we lived in South Dakota when I was born, then my family moved just barely across the border to Northwest Iowa, so that’s where I went to school. Then I moved back at the end of my last year of school, and I’ve never left again. I raised my two daughters here, and now we’re empty nester’s, with two dog’s for children. We spend lots of weekends in the Hills, and sometimes we go father into Wyoming or Colorado, but always stop back by our favorite places in Lead, Deadwood, and Rapid City, on the way back. We rarely ever drink or gamble, but it’s just such a great place to hang out, and we absolutely never get tired of site seeing, because there really is so much to see in the Black Hills, and tons of history. Kevin Costner had a restaurant/casino in Deadwood, which I would have also recommended, because it was so awesome! He had all of his costumes and memorabilia from every movie hanging on display in the restaurant, with tons of great pics that really told some stories. But it closed a few year’s ago, and it really was a huge loss, but Deadwood will always be a great place to visit. Just the history alone makes it very special.:) I’m so glad that you found some great food while you were here, and I really do hope that you come back again soon! It’s the kind of place where the beauty and charm just never get old.:) Take care out there, & God Bless!! 🙏🏼👍🌻
I’m new to your channel I enjoy your videos all your tips and information. Your sense of humor and fun. Sending you positive energy from SoCal hope to see you guys on the road sometime 🙏🏼❤️🤙🏼
Just got back from a long weekend there! I always try to go in Sept, for the chance of really bad storms seems to be less. But I have been caught in scary storms out there too. Always watch for the green skies, cause you know there is hail in them. Glad you were ok.
Yes, watch out for those green skies! The weather was crazy. We were also in a tornado warning. We still really enjoyed the Black Hills and Deadwood, amazing place.
I enjoy your videos so much! I fully expect to see you two on the Travel Channel sometime soon! If they are smart, they would definitely scoop you right up! Thanks, you two! 💜
I just found your channel. We used to go every Christmas as my inlaws lived there. In fact, their house was right next door to the historic Adams House on Van Buren St. It was so interesting when they were just refurbishing the Adams House and getting it ready for tourism for the first time. A lot of historical things were found.
I am a huge coffee fan too. Lol Our Liquid Gold is coffee from Tim Horton's, here in Canada. I am from Labrador City, Newfoundland. Its pretty cold in our neck of the woods!! You two are such a wonderful couple. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I am a vocalist and I sing songs by Aretha Franklim, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Fontella Bass, love the blues too. Amazing you guys. You make me very happy. 🤗🙏💙
I awakened to get something to drink and clicked on your video and now I’m completely up ate a salad, some frozen mango and pineapple chunks.. it’s around 10:30 pm I’m going to try and get some sleep 😴. By the way absolutely very enjoyable video ✨✨✨
From looking at this video, I was all in for checking out Deadwood because it looks very interesting. But then I looked up how safe is it for black people to tour/visit Deadwood? The first site that came up was Trip Advisory with the words BEWARE with 3 explanation points behind it. It was dated January 2020, but it still got my attention. They were warning people of the violence of the Skin Heads. I had gone as far as to look up flights to Rapid City planning to drive to Deadwood, but all that has changed now. I'm so glad you all had a beautiful experience but unfortunately I won't get the chance to experience. I'm too afraid to take the chance, but I do enjoy watching you all's videos and seeing you all together as a couple.
I live in Oklahoma so yes, I’ve experienced hail much much bigger than that. This April I got caught in a pop up storm in Arkansas with massive golf ball sized hail while towing my 71 Airstream. I pulled over when I heard the first ding and was just like well it’ll be what it’ll be. Had damage but thankfully a 51 year old airstream has many hail stories. 😆😆 This was just another one.
Wow...I just found you two cuties...video...So excellent...as I lived in Deadwood and Rapid....1970 to 1979..yes(brothel still there). Its where I learned how to xcountry ski...backpack in...set ip our winter camps...then go ski...fullmoon nites the Best...had many fun nites at Saloon 10...so Thnx for trip down memory lane...now I,m 74,YEP, and FT Nomad,in my shortie,18ft, Skoolie...for Three yrs.now...Sure Hope I see ya on the road...Cuz you two are So FUN,THNX
Thanks so much Deborah! We are glad that you are enjoying our videos! Yes, we were really nervous during the hail storm but thankful that we were in our camper and had no damage! Do you Rv as well?
Just a warning if you don't like the hail don't travel threw the midwest from November threw March possibly April. 1st the snow storms start then theres tornado season. Just trying to help you out a bit. Honestly yhough with global warming tornado season is becoming year round sorry to say. Be safe out there no matter where you are! Love you guys!
Hello from England I really love your vlogs your a fab couple I discovered you whilst looking through you tube, your snowy vlogs were amazing. Your hailstones are massive. We used to have RV your size but now have a static with 3 bedrooms in our Lake District very green with lots of lakes. I'll carry on watching you guys travel safe x
Really enjoyed this video and appreciated the tour of Deadwood. My family is from South Dakota and I haven't been able to visit in many, many years so this was a treat!

Have you ever been to Deadwood South Dakota?
we try to go every summer :)
Smiling..👍
Just found your channel. I have a question. Do you have a windshield cover for the outside of the van? It helps to keep the windshield clean of frost or ice. Living here in Colorado, we have used our to help protect from hail. We stick cushions under it when we know hail is coming.
A wonderful, really cheap, hail protection device is pool noodles fastened together with plastic ties.
No I am Trinidad
No disrespect, please slow your camera when panning so we can appreciate what you’re filming. On another note, the history you provide is very appreciated.
Officially hooked on this channel. Your vibe is amazing. I pray God protects your journey always ❤

Hail on a steel roof sounds worse then it is sometimes. I love watching you two.
That is SD weather, you were very lucky it was only pea sized hail. We lost our roof vent covers one year due to golf ball sized hail while staying at Deerfield Reservoir.
I couldn’t decide on which bear carving 😂. They’re all so stinking cute ☺️. Great share. I know I don’t like hail storms but I do like Dead Wood. 👍
In my experience weather on a metal roof or tent always sounds worse than it is, but I am glad you waited for it to calm down before heading out.
Sorry you guys experienced South Dakotas chaotic weather. Just be glad you were here on May 12th, I haven't be over to Castlewood since the week after the tornados but I'm pretty sure they're still recovering
Their school classrooms are spread throughout the community in churches and wherever they could set up. SDPB had a story earlier this week.
The weather will be a great memory. Sunny nice days are a dime a dozen. The violence of mother nature is awesome to behold.
Would you remember all the good lunches? NOPE but the storms? Oh yes.
I'm happy for them
Thanks for sharing this video! Brought back a lot of memories!❤❤❤
The contrast between that hailstone storm in the dark, and the sunshine the next morning is striking!
I smiled the whole time watching this
Well, not during the storm part lol
Have been to Deadwood, cute town! We loved it!!
Thanks for keeping it real you guys...
Hail and storms are always worse from inside a vehicle of any kind I would imagine. Stay safe 🙏🏾
This was really cool to watch
I would have never seen anything like this so I’m glad you guys took us along for the ride🌼🌺🌼
Holding my hands over my eyes!! Feeling for you guys! The hail is scary!

When I lived in Kansas, mid 90’s we got softball sized hail and 40 degree temps drops in an hour.
Okay guys I've been there, done that in a severe storm. Just a heads-up....find a drive through car wash. It works great!!
Just got back from a long weekend there! I always try to go in Sept, for the chance of really bad storms seems to be less. But I have been caught in scary storms out there too. Always watch for the green skies, cause you know there is hail in them. Glad you were ok.

this was a lot of fun - thanks for posting; never been to Deadwood but loved the series!
Hey from Ireland.. as soon as I heard Deadwood I thought about Calamity Jane.. my favourite movie since I was a little girl x
I am a huge coffee fan too. Lol
Our Liquid Gold is coffee from Tim Horton's, here in Canada.
I am from Labrador City, Newfoundland. Its pretty cold in our neck of the woods!!
You two are such a wonderful couple. I love your videos.

Amazing you guys. You make me very happy. 🤗🙏💙
Your personality is so pleasant. Wonderful video great job💜😊
We have baseball to grapefruit size hail in Texas. Scary!
Grew up there. The weather can definitely get crazy. Have fun. The biggest hail I've seen is softball sized.
Adorable couple! I am new to your YT. I love Deadwood, it’s been along time now since I have been there. So glad you didn’t get damage from the hail.
I so love the fact you guys are foodies! I keep notes of where to eat for my travels. 😂❤
Congrats on 30k
I live in Oklahoma so yes, I’ve experienced hail much much bigger than that. This April I got caught in a pop up storm in Arkansas with massive golf ball sized hail while towing my 71 Airstream. I pulled over when I heard the first ding and was just like well it’ll be what it’ll be. Had damage but thankfully a 51 year old airstream has many hail stories. 😆😆 This was just another one.
Oh the Deadwood Stage is comin’ on over the hill🎶🎶🎶🎶
