Great video Rodney. I recently bought the deluxe version of this game but hadn't played it yet. After watching this video and repeating a couple of bits and pieces I feel like I can dive in and use the rules as a reference rather than having to work my way through them in detail.
I can see this is a bit complicated, but your explanation is quite clear and easy to follow. I'll have to play this a few times to get everything down right, but I'm looking forward to it! :D
This is such a great game. Anyone who is a fan of eurogames needs to try this one out. And it's light-medium weight so not too overwhelming for beginners either (in my opinion)
If it's in your market, you can freely assign it to a space (as long as it could go there). When it's already on a space on your board, you can't just reassign it to another space - it has to stay there (unless you use the option, as detailed at 17:00 to reclaim a piece from your board to your market, by drawing fewer tokens).
Just bought Orleans last week, after being a little disappointed from Orleans Stories. This watch it played video is a perfect example on how easy it is to play a complex game like Orleans nowadays. Thank you for the great explanation.
Hey, Rodney! When you place a token that covers the last space on the Beneficial Deeds board, do you also take the usual reward in addition to the citizen token?
If you place a worker on the beneficial deeds board that fills that deed, do you just gain the citizen token, or do you gain the usual reward for placing a worker as well?
Can someone explain exactly how the Gunpowder tower works? Can you send one of the two place followers to the beneficial Deeds and used the other for an action?
Hey there, I avoid getting into specific card effects in my videos, as that's a level of detail I can't really cover with all the games I feature. I'd recommend checking the BoardGameGeek forums.
If you put two tokens onto the town hall board under the same category, do you reap the benefit twice or just once? For example, if you placed a monk and a knight onto the peace treaty area, do you get four coins or just two?
Rules Question: Can you utilize a Monk token to activate a Place action where you also have a Technology gear token? In other words, if the Place action calls for a Farmer, Boatman and Trader, and you have a Technology tile on the Farmer, can you play a Boatman and a Monk (in lieu of Trader) to activate the Place action? Thanks!!!

Hi Rodney, thanks for your great videos, anyway, I think you made an error in regards to coins, it says in the rule book that they are not limited, so even if they run out you can use something else as money.
Unfortunately there are different printings of the rule book, and this instruction was given differently in the different printings - so it's right, or wrong, depending on which rule book you have. I'm not sure if they ever finally gave an official ruling on it.

Hey Rodney! Thanks for the video. Just a quick question - can I take a couple of actions at the same time (if I have a full Farm House and a ship action) or I have to do one action per round? Thanks in advance!
Hey Kirill, it's been long enough since I shot this, that I'm a little unsure myself. You can perform only one action per turn, but I don't recall what particular abilities there might be that could modify that rule.
Great video Rodney! Really enjoying this game but finding the negative/punishing event tiles too easy and usually don't create much of an issue. Have you found this during your plays? I know the designer posted revised rules for the event tiles that reduces the randomness but have yet to try that variant.

This is difficult to answer as I shot this long enough ago that I don't remember what I said in the video, and I don't know if they changed something in the rule book (or if the rule book is wrong, which sometimes happens - making the video the more correct version).
