I just experienced the same issue as yours these two days. Two days ago, it worked fine. I have no idea what caused the problem to occur, and I have not move any furniture what's so ever. The problem just suddenly happened.
This is the last deebot i will be buying. I attempted to return. Unfortunately it was Day 31 therefore one day too late! It's brush has gotten tangled and destroyed cause it turns on a cord guard. Really could have been a decent vacuum if they had put good software with it.
I just got my X2 Omni. Updated to v 1.56.0 and so far has been performing pretty well. I don't see the same type of issue as yours. The ZigZag thing is usually enabled if you turn on extra deep scrubing for the mob. Otherwise if it's just vacuuming there is no issie. Note that you have a glossy tile floor and a carpet, meanwhile I'm testing on vinyl floor with hard wood-like texture. Not sure if your floor type affects the navigation. As the AIVI 3D uses camera to analyze object as obsticales. The reflection of the object from the glossy floor surface may create a "mirage" confusing the X2 object recognition system. If you disable AIVI 3D on glossy floor, maybe it would solve the problem, but kind of defeat the purpose being one of the major flagship features. I've let the X2 Omni runs to different parts of my home and re-map the whole home several times to ensure I have the best coverage. Initially it misses one room and there is no way it can reach that spot due to bad initial map. I have deleted the map and then ensure all area must be light up bright enough during the new re-mapping. Also I've let the machine run more rounds the home and it is more efficient with more cycles. The Square Shape design does cause more fiddling to move around at tight spaces. In terms of mopping, it knows how to back up further so that the mop pads can reach out to narrow places as well near the edges. Also WiFi signal is not as great compare to a smartphone. You might loss signal if you are too far away from your router. I would recommend to use a WiFi Mesh system because it resolves many of the signal issues. So try to update your unit see if it improves your problem.
I have enterprise grade wifi in my house with Ubiquiti routers installed in my ceiling. I have perfect wifi throughout my house. Deep mopping mode was also turned off, even just in vacuum only mode it still did the same behaviours. But yes as I mentioned in my other comment, I had 2 Dreame Bots and prior to that a Roborock with cameras that didn't suffer this issue. I've now got a Dreame L20 Ultra that not only navigates perfectly it seems to do a better job in cleaning and Is quieter also. I'll never buy another Ecovacs product again.
Have you updated the latest firmware? I’ve updated to 1.56.0 and so far it’s working properly. I would suggest a strong WiFi network. If you have a Mesh system it will be much better.
I was really hoping this X2 would be good, but this is just sad! Thanks for sharing this real life video. Please also share, if any future software updates make a real positive improvement.
I just got my X2 Omni, updated to v 1.56.0, tested on both carpet and vinyl hard-wood-like floor, it's working great. I have a theory about the zigzag navigation issue, it maybe caused by the very glossy floor tiles where the reflection on the floor projects objects around and creates an illusion of a mirage, where the AIVI camera system misrecognizes as a real obsticle. But then when the bumper and LiDAR both don't respond an obstacle, it continues to move forward. Thus the system AIVI is constantly fighting against the LiDAR and bumper sensors result in the zigzag navigation path.
2 Firmware updates did not solve the issue. I note many people on Reddit are having similar issues. I got a refund and bought a Dreame L20 Ultra, it's so much better. Navigates perfectly, quiet and is even better with its edge cleaning and it automatically takes off and installs its mopping pads.
@@Shane3Logan Thx for sharing your experience ( and also after the firmware update). Do you think the L20 ultra is worth €500 more than the L10S ultra?
No software update still now? I think they will release soon, is just software problem, they can fix it, it’s not normal, x2 is worst of x1 atm. I think after the patch x2 will be the best.
It had a firmware update out of the box, so it's on the latest firmware. At the moment it's effectively useless and unusable. It's driven around for 2 hours essentially and cleaned 2 rooms.
@@Torigum No. It drives around in circles on my tiles and bounces around the room like an old style dumb robot. Like it has no efficiency in its path, it's completely random.
the X2 - mine does the same thing - does not go straight and turns around before proceeding. I thought it will learn after few times. think the Roborock has a better software. It also does not understand me or responds to me when speaking many times and do not know where to press on the robot - to go to station - so have to use the app for that - when aborting cleaning.

The X2 Omni is mapping out the perimeter and that’s the most time consuming. Wondering once the perimeter mapping is completed is it still doing the back and forth?
@@Shane3Logan my bad please let me rephrase it, after it maps the entire home when it cleans it still walks around the perimeter and then do a zigzag inside the perimeter of each region to clean. I've uploaded other videos, even in the daytime in a fully lit room it still drives around in circles and crashes into everything. Ive seen posts on Reddit where it appears the issue is widespread. Pretty damaging to the Ecovacs brand I reckon. I'd never buy another thing from their brand now.
@@Shane3Logan I think it's the glossy floor causing the navigation issue. Do you have AIVI 3D enabled?
