Sigma just launched their 50mm f1.2 DG DN ART lens for Sony E mount and L mount cameras. The lens is developed to achieve a large aperture of F1.2 and the highest optical performance of the DG DN Art line, while aiming for the most compact size in its class. As a result, it is actually the lightest in its class.
Perfect for portraits utilising the large bokeh of F1.2, landscapes taking advantage of high image quality, night scenes and indoor photography requiring more brightness, etc.
The new SIGMA 50mm F1.2 DG DN | Art is the brightest in the SIGMA 50mm prime lens lineup, while delivering extremely high optical performance from its widest aperture. It has achieved the highest level of performance among successive generations of Art lenses.
The F1.2 maximum aperture allows photographers to actively take advantage of the large bokeh effect and to shoot handheld with a wide aperture even in low-light situations such as indoors and evening scenes.
The new SIGMA 50mm F1.2 DG DN | Art has a beautiful bokeh effect with no unwanted characteristics, thanks to the excellent correction of various aberrations such as spherical aberration, sagittal coma flare, and axial chromatic aberration.
SIGMA's first 13-blade rounded diaphragm maintains a circular bokeh effect even when the aperture is stopped down.
Focus breathing is also suppressed by optimizing the power arrangement of the focus group. Therefore, even if focusing is performed during movie recording, there is little change in the angle of view, resulting in a natural-looking image.
