Wow, that’s a lotta pears! I didn’t know that there are 3,000 varieties of them in the world! It might be a good idea to start slowly pruning it back each year to get it to a more manageable size and it’ll be healthier overall and less susceptible to disease. It’s a beautiful tree! I don’t have a pear recipe to contribute, but pear juice with ginger or chamomile makes great tea, hot or cold.
    😁😁😁

Murial! Hey there! Yeah one thing I love about doing these “reports” is all the wildly interesting facts that I come across! Thanks for reinforcing my decision to trim it back also! I look forward to the journey/process. Also thanks for the tea recipe! Have a great week!

Think this is the first time I've seen the tree fully😮it's big😳 slowly bringing it shorter will help with your harvest 🤟👍

Glad you got to see the tree fully. You are so right about the height. I’ll try to showcase the process of trimming it. Any suggestions?

The rose family pears apples roses etc.looks like you have Asian pear also called apple pear because of the shape. The canned pears and best eating pears are Bartlett pears they are non grafted standard trees up to 40 ft high your variety is next and holds up better than Bartlett as it has a thicker skin.Sickle pears are smaller but intensely sweet they are called sugar pears and yellow jacket wasps love to eat them, I know the tree we used to have was covered with fruit and wasps my grandmother used to can them.the pears not the wasps l.o.l.you cannot get them in stores they rot really fast.

Hey William! So for the delay in getting to your comment. I’ve been a bit all over the place lately but I appreciate you taking the time to reach out nonetheless. I’m not completely sure what type of pear I have so I appreciate you extending your two sense into the situation. I may even make a new video once I exactly pencil down what I think it is. I figured it was more of a common pear as that best matched the images I found online. Thanks again for your two cents and the nice anecdote to “pear” with your information 😂😂. Do not be a stranger around here as I love to hear all the information you have about gardening. Stay well and talk soon!!
