This but with every op comparison ever. You can just use both operators and destroy everything, It's not like you have to choose one. One of the best examples is Surtr and NTR knight. They both do roughly the same thing, but you can still use both and just cycle through their helidrops to deal with hard enemies.
My thoughts exactly! Unless we're talking a 6-star selector ticket, why choose? Schwarz and Pozy make a fantastic team of apex predator snipers. 😌
Something missing from the discussion surrounding Schwarz is that her X module reduces her redeploy time down to April levels at -25 seconds (-29 at pot 4) all the while adding a universal +13% ATK buff to all Snipers on the field without her needing to be placed augmenting a strategy that uses 1-2 Marksman Snipers to hold down the lanes in between Schwarz drops.
With that in mind I feel like Hypergryph wants Pozy to be the pick for strategies where you deploy her for an extended period of time with only occasionally repositioning her Typewriter and the Helidrop boss-bombing is more of Schwarz's wheelhouse. So if enemy priority targets come down one lane it makes total sense to favor Pozy over Schwarz; however, if you need to blow up a priority target on one lane before it reaches your frontline and then reposition to another lane 40 seconds later, it makes total sense for Schwarz to be "correct" choice. Furthermore, the two of them work well together by having Pozy handle the frontline with a Defender while Schwarz does her thing all over the battlefield with someone like Gravel to hold enemies in place.
schwarz gets a second module that augments her ability to be a stable set and forget lane holder. But i agree that despite the second module making her objectively more powerful her current one provides a more interesting interaction and i feel like it will keep her viable for much longer as ops come out
Pozy will get that module as well so its not a real niche really
Also repositioning litterally doesnt matter for pozyomka as her DRONE has same cd as Schwarz with that module and even has almost same damage as her for 5 dp cost lmfao

@@kyarumomochi5146 the summon costs a second dp slot and a second ranged tile. The redeploy time of the typewriter being fast is only true when using skill 2 which brings its damage far below schwarz s3 when not alongside poz. And regardless the turrets overall power is lower when it isnt attacking the same target as poz meaning its ability to be placed in other lanes goes unused unless those lanes have only medium health targets. So the repositing is explicitly a weakness she has. If a heavy unit spawns at 2 different lanes in two separate intervals she cant kill them both. schwarz module x fulfills that niche while also acting as a passive buff to all snipers even if she isnt used. Noone forgot she has the typewriter, you seem to have forgotten it isnt free or automatic. If you dont keep redeploying it while also timing its deployment she isn't that impressive. half of her strength is housed in the summon. But this is pretty common. New shiny powercreep unit so people will discredit any merits other units have to justify the hype of the new one. Ive seen it with gavila too. or when archetto came out and people acted like exu was dead. but you cant reason a person out of a corner they didnt reason themselves in to
I’m glad the heavy sniper is able to target evasion or dodge enemies as their literal class trait is being accurate point blank attacks yet they still get affected by dodge
Their trait is also described as "high precision" too.
One thing about your guides that I really appreciate is how you always go into detail about the ideal situations to use each skill, even the ones that are usually considered lower priority for the operators, aside from a few cases where they are simply outclassed by the other skills without any specific niche to stand out. Knowledge like that really helps open lots of possible strats in this game, so keep that up!
I get the vibe that the reason why most ppl consider Schwarz to be dead is because for most people, the scenarios in which Schwarz overtakes Pozyomka skew extremely heavily towards content that most people do not really consider as their primary goal (extreme DEF, ATK down, tile bans, and crippled DP economy are all generally characteristic of extremely high difficulty content, like CC- it's not very common to see these debuffs occur at large scale outside of CC). It's kind of like comparing the Threadripper 3990X to the latest Ryzen processors- most people aren't going to be able to make use of the extra PCIE lanes, cores, and other stuff that comes with the platform, while they will care about the lower single-core performance and performance in things like games (which the latest series of Ryzen processors are most certainly better at).
Exactly, Schwarz has a better time when the enemy is incredibly tough and arts sources are not viable. She cracks the highest of armor values when Pozy struggles simply because she is made to deal big damage no matter what. Pozy does thing in a similar fashion but she has more hits instead of a higher singular hit which looses out against super high armor with stuff like ex challenge mode stages with difficult targets or high risk cc where she is usefull for both her sniper buff talent as well as her ability to deal with difficult targets even when they are super buffed by tags.
You raised a good point. The huge majority of players aren't tryhards either who would want an operator that performs best for every type of situation. Most just wants something that will give them the most bang for their buck which is exactly Pozy is.

A huge majority of the players are quite obviously meta driven (easily seen from the anniversary E2 Rates of operators and banner revenues) outside Max risk CCs Schwarz hardly holds a candle to pozys insane utility and damage
2k high def enemies practically doesnt exist outside CCs and even when they do its still preferable to get Pozy because of her amazing utility and buffeability thanks to her multiplicative skills

Personally I use my Schwarz quite a lot, getting another variant with different applications yet more universal is a win in my books, Also I love Lappdumb showing up in the videos it's quite cute~

It has been touched on but I feel that the typewriter being so pivotal to her DPS and it taking a high tile spot is more important that it would seem at first glance. Why is this? Opportunity cost. Assuming you don't have deployment limit restrictions you have to think what am I missing out by taking up a premium high tile spot with a summon? The most obvious answer is another whole operator. Sure Schwarz might lose out slightly in many cases but assuming that you could put another DPS on the typewriter spot then the two would be doing significantly more DPS.
It really comes down to a map by map basis where if deployment limit is a concern then Pozy is the go to while if ranged tiles are at a premium then Pozy's value is greatly diminished. Schwarz redeploy module is also really useful where you want to assassinate various units in different spots in the map. The Talulah + Heavy drone map is one that comes to mind.
There's plenty of use cases for both.
The opportunity cost is really low in normal usage most of the time, if using s3, very little operators have a range of 5 tiles so those tiles far back are empty most of the time + it being invulnerable means you often place it in places where normal rangeds would draw aggro and die . All that while pozy is so much flexible in use
Pozy alone has just slightly less total dmg than Schwarz and she still gains more from buffs lmfao

Don't forget though that with it being 1) a temporary summon only and 2) immune to damage, it opens up a lot of deploy tiles that would not be an option otherwise!

I've recently started getting back into Arknights two weeks ago and to see Dreamy uploading Arknights content again has me feeling blessed.

The say I see it is it’s a good option in general content for replacement, you can use either Pozy or Schwarz. Whichever you have really, cuz they can do similar jobs. This is especially true to newer players who don’t have Schwarz but have Pozy (like my f2p CN account). She carried me a lot in situations where I would have used Schwarz, but I can’t deny that she is more versatile because of her typewriter. I’ll be using her wit Schwarz on global though. Sniperknights gonna be stronger than ever

GRAY CAT NOT DEAD, LET'S GOOOOOO!!!! I was a bit worried when I saw Pozyemka dps Patriot like it was nothing. I was also confused why Schwarz's S1 was even mentioned. I've had her 90'd for a while now and even I had to look up what that skill does, lol. I also find the fact that her typewriter can't be targeted to be the real game-changer. The ability to reliably assassinate high-threat ranged targets is massive, arguably as much, or even greater than her boss killing potential imo.
The S3 comparison part was funny and very informative (love the dumb Lappy skit). DPH aside, I also brought up things like tile bans, dp down, and such to friend around the time when Pozyemka was released. I'm just glad to see that she still doesn't lose out when it comes to being a boss killer. That said, if given the option, why not use both?

Problem is that the whole case is pretty much on applicable on CCs
Outside CCs there are no enemies that are 2k def and no tile restrictions exist

I think Pozyomka got a advantage that she can uses her typerwriter to assasinate enemy. If you are not the min/max ones, you can freely use whoever you want. They are still best in their role.
So what I'm getting at here is Pozyomka is pretty good, but falls behind Schwarz in
1) DP Cost. You have to put down both her and the turret, which cost more than Schwarz by herself. Not to mentions constantly having to resummon the turret.
2) Buffs and scaling. Turret can't be directly buff and she scale worst than Schwarz against armor.
3) Tiles. You need 2 tiles for her to perform else you have half an op.
Correct!
1) The typewriter isn't just a 'haha put me down so I can eat your DP' item. It actually does work, kills enemies, and can't be killed no matter how much bosses mald. you're paying extra for a reason. If you're 'constantly' resummoning the turret, that's because you _need_ it! You brought this op because being able to resummon it quickly was a *benefit* according to your strategy.
2) The turret can't be buffed, but in exchange enemies can't debuff it either. An op can be killed, can die, as well as takes up a relatively longer deployment space and time to be redeployed once dead- the typewriter has none of that.
3) if somehow, on the entire map, there's one ONE ranged tile- then yes, she's not the best heavyshooter to bring. In fact, I wouldn't even be sure if I wanted to use that one ranged tile on a sniper at all.
You could call Poz half an op, but the truth is she is *one half of the whole that is given to you.*
Two halves of a whole also means _more options._ The typewriter is about as restricted as your strategic ability. In a tower defense game like this, if you take pozyomka it's because you _know_ you will find use for both halves. That's something no other op used for her role (heavy armor, boss killing) can do, because of her versatility.

@@otaku-chan4888 1) your paying extra because the combined power of both is high but the cost itself is part of its value. If its too expensive then its power is irrelevant. You are also really presumptuous here about "your strategy." The reality is you will likely load in to the map blind like everyone else try to use her in a map that she doesn't shine in and then swap her out for someone else after. You didn't bring her in with some 5 headed plan, that's not how most people play.
2) she can still die herself though so the summon not being targetable doesn't eliminate the weakness of death since if she dies it goes with her and cant be resummoned until she's back on field.
3) this is true but a moot point since even in that scenario she ranks among the lowest in priority even if a sniper was the best option for that one slot since she needs 2 no matter what.
Kal stit is balanced in a very similar way although she is a different archetype. Mont3r is incredibly strong and her long range lets her stay super safe while he holds lanes. But she costs 2 slots and extra dp while also requiring that there be both a ranged and ground tile available to angle her with, they also cannot function separate as they get penalties for not being together. As a result despite her strength its still often the case that you would rather cut her to have 2 extra dp slots and save the dp cost to deploy faster. So yes poz is "half an op" shes strong but comes with the cost of her summon. if you cant deploy it in that map effectively due to enemy type or tile positioning she becomes strictly weaker than a full op that has no summon.
Also, Schwarz can contribute well in sniper-heavy maps. Not only because she takes 1 less tile, but due to the map-wide atk boost she provides snipers.
With Schwarz being my favorite character, hearing everyone say that she's useless with the release of Poz has been quite annoying. I'm glad it was addressed. As someone that doesn't really use arts damage (Tomimi is my main caster) Schwarz works wonders for me, even if I kind of put myself in that situation to begin with. Now I will continue to stand by the fact that if I don't get Gavialter and do get Poz, I'll be leaving her at E0 level 1.
Update: I got Gavialter in 2 pulls. All is well.
lol you can level poz without making it a 'betrayal'! especially since you use phys damage, poz and schwarz can help each other out. You can continue to use schwarz for the big numbers, and the typewriter just for some assassinations + versatility.
of course, if you've made poz your anti-waifu just bc she's very similar to schwarz then that's... totally understandable, all is fair in love and war (I'd love to have that pozy on my landship tho ;)

I've very rarely used Schwarz in the first place so the "issue" of Schwarz is dead due to Pozy isn't even a thing for my case as she already kinda was dead for a good while now. While I'm still not sure how much I'd use Pozy, her Typerwriter actually is extremely interesting. Ever since Goldenglow released, I've used her Global "niche" in far too many maps that I don't think I can even call it a niche anymore. Her Typewriter has kind of a similar thing where you can just drop it anywhere and have it do damage which I can see myself using just based off of how I've used Goldenglow a lot in the short time she's released.
Definitely going to play around with her but still wouldn't know if she's going to be a main stay or not, it all depends on how well her Typewriter performs.

A point that I don't see anyone talking about is that Schwartz goes insane with buffs like waf or skadi, and has a fast recovery on her skill and deployment with her module, making her much, much more flexible than pozy
They are similar but also very different in use cases, the usage in daily and semi-hard content of Schwartz will definitely tank a lot but I doubt anyone would use Schwartz in those day-to-day use cases especially when the existence of two certain blue-haired limited women exist... *cough* chotgun Ling *cough*
Overall, pozy is a game changer for those burst dps moments like punching through shieldguards but that doesn't necessarily deny the niche that Schwartz has already established and does insanely well
It's a matter of if you need to beat up someone with a stat stick (Schwartz) or you just need something that's "good enough" in most cases (pozy)
I'd argue pozy works even better as the cover for Schwartz's weaknesses and both of them don't need to compete but complement each other's skillset
Don't get me wrong pozy is definitely a waifu and excels at what she is designed to do, but I don't think we should let the power creep hype get to us (like sliverash vs Młynar) and instead actually focus on what they are designed to do and what niche they fit into

I understand this whole Pozy vs Schwarz debate but as a sniperknights player I’m just happy to have another big hitter since I’ve been always craving another Schwarz for a decent amount of scenarios. While Schwarz isn't invalidated entirely, Pozy's kit still kind of sets me off because it feels like it was designed with the intention of "Let's make Schwarz but better"; def reduction, high dph which seemed to be Schwarz's forte is taken over. Sure, you have the extreme 2000+ def range where Schwarz wins, but pushing (one of my favourite) operator(s) into a very niche spot is frustrating. Pozy's dodge ignore and practical range extension also pushes Fartooth into even more niche scenarios. I really appreciate the guide Dreamy, it's made extremely well, but Pozy isn't gonna cut it for me after being slapped onto two of my favourite units in the game :copium:
Fyi 2000 DEF is the threshold for Pozy + Typewriter both hitting straight line vs. Schwarz. This is a fairly strict condition that can only be met with 2 convenient ranged tiles. If you are just comparing Typewriter vs. Schwarz (mod Y) I believe the threshold was something like 800 DEF which is fairly common.
After using Pozy, Schwarz, and Fartooth for a few days I've come to the conclusion that Pozy doesn't invalidate Schwarz, she invalidates the need to use AA snipers (outside specific niches like Exu buff squads or Ash flashbang). There really isn't a situation outside CC where there are drones with a high enough frequency on a map that limits range tiles that the 3 aforementioned snipers can't take care of it while also covering their respective niches.
It's most noticeable on Ideal City final boss week 1, a drone boss specifically tailored for AA snipers. the best approach to kill it is Chalter, Exu buff squad, or Pozy/Schwarz/Fartooth nuking it. Other than low rarity runs with Meteor I haven't seen a clear that uses AA snipers other than Exu. Ch 8 airstrike drones also bury AA snipoers, but Pozy/schwarz/Fartooth down them relatively easily.

Oh yeah been waiting for this one!
You know I typically hate when an operator of the same class and rarity come out because in most games its a horrible power creep. However in most cases here both characters have different "styles" Thorns (constant) vs Silverash (burst). Pozemka has similarities to Schwarz but still has particular differences to where Pozemka will most likely be the "common use" but you know Schwarz will have you still against the feisty ones. If this makes any sense.
As someone who plays a lot of IS2 on Hard Mode, I will definitely keep using my Schwarz. People forget that high DEF enemies may be the minority, but they are often the DANGEROUS minority. Lucian's fight only has 5 Elite defenders, but those defenders can have up to 2100 DEF with Ursus Chachek, or 2250 if you get hit with Imagined. Those 5 enemies have ended my run so many times, a lot more than the 28 hounds that appear on the same map. Or Guerilla Shieldguards. They are fairly common in IS2. 1800+ DEF with Ursus Chachek, and have taunt which can cause your operators to leak other enemies. The new Ending 4 boss has 2000 DEF during their most dangerous phase, which I think gets raised to 2800 DEF with Ursus Chachek (assuming buffs stack multiplicatively).
I'll build Pozy if I happen to get her since she's good in Sniperknights, but I do think her kit is overtuned (but Schwarz is safe). If anything, Pozy is an affront to all the other snipers who can't compete with her at any level of DEF. Her typewriter should either cost 1 deploy, or have a limited amount of HP like 500. Making is 0 deploy and invulnerable just strikes me as uninteresting design.
Well, with the current state progression of the game's difficulty, I think giving Pozy's typewriter have HP isn't a really good idea. I mean, some new strong mobs can even destroy Ling's dragon in several attack. The typewriter won't last long especially since newer enemies tend to deal AoE damage, massive ranged damage, or f*ck'n both just like the casters from the previous event. I personally think she is okay as it is and her kit is interesting. The problem here isn't on her, but on the more outdated units. Their skills and capabilities are either bland or simply underwhelming as the game grow. Newer enemies become stronger. Newer operators have more interesting and stronger kit. What they need to do isn't "balancing" the new operators but buffing or even reworking the older ones to be interesting to use again

I would be really curious to see if Schwarz/Pozy can work together well: Schwarz has 20% DEF down with Sniper ATK buff from passive; Pozy gets 18-25% DEF down from her typewriter depending on placement/pots. Depending on how these debuffs add or multiply, you could get pretty insane damage (especially given the attack speed scaling on Pozy S3)! I could see a scenario in which you have Schwarz/Pozy/Typewriter congo-line for insane DPS, especially with a Shamare/Elysium/Suzu debuff going.
A Genshin-based analogy would be how Xingqiu and Yelan work super well together in double-hydro comps despite filling the same off-field damage role: the resonance is okay for XQ's small healing + Yelan's damage scaling, and they generate hydro energy for each other and have high application for any on-field carry

Video doesn't mention Fartooth. But to summarize fartooth does more damage depending how far the enemy is from her so another extreme case scenario like Swartz.
But wouldn't miss type writer also be extreme case scenario too. The archetype itself is very limited if you look at all the stages set in the game so the main question becomes. Who's the most effective for this enemy. You'd use fartooth for spawn killing, Swartz for beeeg defense. And Poke for the rest.

I had this discussion with a buddy of mine and told him that if they were in direct competition of just skill 1 and 2 then Schwarz might as well be pushing up daisies but since that is not the case she will always be useful some where some how. Also just deploy both of them to defend a lane and watch as the enemies perish upon a tile of flesh and bone from previous enemies.
I feel like even though they are both quite similar, they're ultimately niche, at least for me. They need specific placements and timings, and they aren't at the level of power of something like Chalter, thorns, mountain, bagpipe, or even kal'tsit. You can even make the argument that both of them get powercrept by Mlynar in a way (Big damage with low cooldown skill). So even if one is better than the other, they're both still sub-optimal in a certain way.
Even if you go to a niche like sniper knights, schwarz in not necessarily worse thank to her attack buff for snipers.

1:02 can you explain WHY 70 ATK increase is so impactful for Pozemka's typewriter that it warrants urgency in the upgrade? It really doesn't feel like much at all, so I upgraded it to Mod1 for the dodge ignore, and left it at that.

My philosophy towards pozy and schwarz is that they're both generally strong enough to kill most high value targets outside of SSS and maybe high risk CC so comparing pure dps doesn't matter too much for me, the big comparison comes with range. Pozy isn't restricted to a 4 tile range and can actually hit enemies that aren't directly in front of her. All things considered though, using them both is always an option and they actually increase each other's damage through defense debuffs and schwarz's module talent buff. What I've personally done is sic both of them on Big Sad Lock and watched him melt, its a very entertaining combo. That's all I'll say cuz everyone else is arguing a lot.

To be honest in the vast majority of content you'll just use whichever you have or.. "Just Surtr it". The real difference is if you're doing very hard content, in which case the answer, as it often is, it's "it depends": sometimes Schwarz will be better, some other times Pozy will be better.
At the end of the day, I'm still gonna use both of these crazy crossbow-wielding-women together, nothing wrong with a black-gray-white cat with X-module buffing pink fox Lady while serving effectively as a second typewriter

I think she'd have been balanced and encroached on Schwarz territory less if there was no DEF reduction in her kit at all even if it's conditionally with the typewriter. I really like her design, voice and kit but it doesn't feel great considering I quite like Schwarz. I'm definitely rolling for her so I'll have em both lel.

I have never been a fan of Schwartz and heavyshooters in general, so Pozy putting the cat out of a job is not as infuriating for me. And it doesn't really bother my Justyna, since everything she had over Schwartz is range - that doesn't change much with Позёмка's arrival. So yeah, hooray, pink wolf!
Won't be pulling for her, though, since there's a certain future operator that drives me insane and hits hard. I need all the pulls I can get, this is the first limited after W that I simply cannot miss.

I think For most casual players will find pozy easier to use, each of her skill are unique and can have its benefit on different maps.
Thats means pozy might be used more, which good for casual player investment.
In case of power ceilling swrz should be winning, I mean her skill start from just easy to use decent dmg, to higher and higher dmg but the mechanic also getting more advance as well.

It's worth noting Pozemka's weakness is that she doesn't have big atk steroid but has all in her dmg multiplier meaning that she gets hit a lot harder with atk debuff risk when her high multiplier multiply nothing.
Schwarz with 180% atk give her so much room and it's the reason why she perform better than Pozemka in CC as usually in CC you double dip by taking def buff risk and atk debuff risk.
From my calc, unless you're dealing with very high defense which barely exist (even in CC, high def alone is not enough), Pozemka usually outperform Schwarz. But in CC, in combination with atk debuff (usually around 30% atk debuff, around 700def, basically not high risk), Schwarz perform better (only CC Beta and CC2 Pozemka would have done better).
Since CC has stopped in CN (or is going to stop after 1 more) for a while while they revamp it, this means also that one of Schwarz’s best use cases will be taken away, as even in CM they don’t apply so many debuffs at once. Schwarz still has her niches and her extreme cases, but without CC so many of those extreme cases get taken away from her.
I play a lot of IS2 Hard Mode and I can tell you, there MANY enemies in IS2 Hard Mode asking to be killed by Schwarz with their high DEF.
@@cirnobyl9158 Same here, gotten all endings with all squads (except Playwright because encounter RNG). I'd agree with the bear boss (especially with Crown, need to get rid of that shield asap rather than defense), but apart from that there isn't really much I felt like I wanted Schwarz S3 for (except Stachek emergency sometimes), unless I'm forgetting something.
Usually when I did take her it was for her module and/or her S2, since you get both stat buffs and artifacts to help you out in later maps, so Schwarz's extreme cases get pushed back a bit more. But maybe we just play differently.
@@slonik0002 Oh yeah I use Schwarz in IS2 all the time. She's usually my first pick if I get a Sniper voucher with 6 Hope. The new boss has 2000 DEF during a certain phase on Normal Mode, which becomes 2500 - 2800 DEF on Hard Mode, and I was really glad Schwarz took care of the boss before things got too chaotic for my healers to handle.
@@cirnobyl9158 Ah right, the Playwright is that tanky, isn't he. I was honestly shocked the first time I read up on him after beating him, I used Irene S3 and killed him with 1 tile, even with Crown - I really thought he was just a pushover and was surprised to read his stats become so beefed up.
I'd worry about dealing with him, but my main issue is still getting to him 😔
@@slonik0002 Unfortunately getting to him is a massive pain. I'm trying to get his ending with every squad on Hard Mode, but so far I've only completed half of the squads. The first freaking encounter! It has a ridiculously low appearance rate. I reset so many runs in Floor 3 because the game refuses to give me the encounter. And when it does appear it's often at the beginning of Floor 2 where I'm not prepared for it. Sad, but it do be like that sometimes. That said I do think the boss fight itself is pretty cool.

Schwarz is my favorite operator of all time, never took her out of my squad she is always there. I like Pozy too a lot her kit sounds fun af and all the discussions ive seen of Schwarz vs Pozy one upping each other is all nonsense, they each have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Im a new player 6 days into the game. I got super lucky and pulled her but havent even really been able to use her much. Trying to grind this event and slowly level up low teir characters its taking forever. Im stuck on ic8. I was really hoping i could get to ic9 and beat it but idk. Im honestly hoping there isnt another event after this for at least a couple weeks being underleveled sucks so hard 😂

Well, there is the fact that Pozy isn't a limited operator and might spook you on another banner. Since she is mainly a DPS with tons of alternatives, I don't see her as a top priority to get.
