    Excellent video! I've been dreading removing the center console just to get to that actuator. This just saved me a big headache.

    Great work. I did the exact same thing as you did! Broke the rear off and bingo. Done!
    Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks - definitely a time saver busting off the back mount. I changed 3 of these now (different trucks - F150 and an Expedition. I can probably do it with my eyes closed now.

    I have a 2013 F150, was very fortunate there was no back bolt in the actuator. Thanks for the video...I was prepared to use the pliers method :)

    5🌟 video. Best one I've seen yet. Short, clear, efficient, and simple. Saw one video where the guy removed his seats to do this😆.

      Haha, thanks. Yeah I’ve seen lots of videos on this where guys have over complicated it. Unfortunately I’ve done this too many times to count in my f150s and Expedition. Crazy but I can probably do it with my eyes closed now

    Hey Zim. Great video. On my 2011 all systems work except when blowing on high on max a/c you can here blowing on high but little come out of vents. Thx. JP

    Thanks for the video. I was searching for a video w/ the shift console between driver/passenger as opposed to on the steering column. Question. Did you have to loosen/detach the left or right side silver dash panels that "hold" the 4WD (LH) selector switch and cigarette adapter (RH)? If so, how did you do that on this arrangement?

    • @fixitwithzim
      @fixitwithzim  4 роки тому +1

      No, didn’t need to remove that panel to do this work...just the radio bezel

    So which one controlling the air flow,mine is not blowing enough air but everything works.
    Heat and AC vents,
    But when vents are all open not much air coming out.
    Which actuator is bad
    2017 f150 xlt NOT dual climate control

    With a/c on I only have cold air on passenger side and rear with dual climate control, would this be the same actuator or is it the lower one? TY

    I have a 2012 fx4. I have ac blowing cold on the driver side but hot air on the passenger side. Is this the same scenario ? Thanks so much for your help!

    • @fixitwithzim
      @fixitwithzim  4 роки тому +1

      If you have the temp control set to AC and getting hot on the passenger side, then yes, this is your issue. Easy fix, just takes an hour or 2.

    • @fixitwithzim

    My 2010 Raptor F-150 blows only hot air. I can change where the air comes from but it is always hot. AC is hot also. Is this a blend door problem?

      Ohh man, that sucks! Unfortunately I do not, never had to do that repair yet. Of course now that I’ve said that, mine will break within the next couple of days. Good luck with the repair. Most of it is easy stuff just time consuming with that amount of stuff you need to remove to get to the part.

    If you are really careful after you get the old actuator out, take a long thin sawsall blade and cut the back tab with screw when you re-install the actuator you undo the screw from the support and reinstall it to the back loop of the actuator and then install on the front two posts. Glue if you want, I just let mine stay dry or unglued.

    The heat getting to the actuator melts the grease and makes the gears dry this is what binds them up

      @@fixitwithzim it's not worth messing with, not to mention the next person to change it out isn't going to know that you cut it like that and they're going to fight the thing unnecessarily lol
