It is a unique experience to be here at this time after the country has faced so much! Glad you're loving it bro, lots of content coming from the 2 months in Lebanon!
We visited Lebanon in May. It was the most beautiful place we have visited, and we have been all over Asia and most of Europe. The food was amazing and the people were so welcoming. 2 small restaurants refused to charge us and we had to leave money under a napkin on the table. The traffic is a little challenging but if you use Uber or a driver, it is easy. Thanks for showing us so many good places to visit!
Lucky u Truly miss Lebanon Have seen it once in 40 years Heart breaking to see what is happening... I pray the angels to bring back the Lebanon I saw as a child.
Lebanese-American here. You definitely visited at an interesting time. Our country is going through so much political, financial, and social turmoil right now so it's not as stable as it usually is. On the other hand, because of the economic crisis, prices are amazing for a tourist. I'm personally hoping to visit family in May. Hope you enjoyed the scenary, people and of course our food :).
Absolutely loving this! Thank you so much for shedding light on this part of the world.. Lebanon is a very very beautiful country and it has the most amazing people in the world! It feels so nice to see Luke too! I've been watching his videos for quite some time now, and I can't wait to watch the new Lebanon series! :) Have a great journey and looking forward to see more content!
Was searching for news about lebanon and came across this video. I was expecting total chaos but its not as bad as being shown in the media. P.s nice to see Luke after his great Pakistan series.
Glad you came across it, I try to share my experiences exactly as I perceive them. The media does show some areas worse than others, but there are still a lot of great things about this country underneath the many challenges it is facing!
Well the nation of Lebanon is not in good shape. You are not in their skin. Some women have their children sleep in air conditioned stores so they can get some sleep. The people cannot take their money out of the bank. Gasoline is very, very expensive. Taxis do not work, and so much more. Lebanon is another Arabic country in distress. God have mercy on Lebanon
Man i love your content. You got a nice personality while interacting with locals. I have a small request. Please, arrange the videos of each country in order, from the moment you arrive until you leave, in your playlists. This first impression video showed up to me after watching couple of other Lebanon videos. Thanks and I hope to see you here in Kuwait. I'm from Jordan and I loved your videos about Jordan
Thank you for this video! Whenever I tell someone I want to go to Lebanon they tell me I’m crazy and it’s super dangerous. My great grandfather was from Beirut Syria before it became Lebanon. Can’t wait to go someday!
Loving your videos on Lebanon. Glad you're sharing the current situation, it's so sad to see what they're going through at the moment 😥 Have been binge watching...hope you go viral! You should do a video on a local grocery store, I've noticed people are loving them atm. Enjoy the rest of your stay 😊
Wow thank you so much for this comment, I really appreciate it. It is very sad with what they are going through, it is an amazing country with great people underneath the immense challenges. Great idea on the grocery store, I would love to do an indepth one soon!
My family is Armenian however both my parents were born in Beirut Lebanon and they took me for the first time in 2014 to spend Easter there and Lebanon is such a beautiful country whatever it has a corrupt government and unfortunately the beautiful Lebanese people pay the ultimate price. They’ve been living hell for 40 years and this past five years has been much worse for them. Lebanon truly is the Paris of the Middle East. I hold a special place in my heart for that country. God willing things turn for the better 🙏🏼
Just catching up on your vids from lebs. Awesome video was always curious about the currency exchange. Look forward to watching the rest of this series.
@@worldnomac I mean considering Lebanon's history a little economic crisis is nothing. I just re-watched Waltz With Bashir which is free on youtube and should have won an Oscar.
Hey, thank you for the great content man you have convinced me to go to Lebanon! I am traveling to Beirut in one month. When you were there was it easy to find reliable covid PCR tests for exit travel?
Your first visit to Lebanon came at probably the worst time after the end of the civil war in 1990. This was during the aftermath of the financial collapse in 2019 which was exacerbated by the pandemic, and after Beirut seaport's explosion in 2020 which left the country in general but Beirut in particular in shambles. Things have gotten better since then and the economy has stopped the crazy free-fall and has stabilized to some extent, but there's still a lot of challenges. Lebanon's a beautiful country with so much to offer, but it's been through so much and continues to do so, unfortunately.
@@worldnomac I was addicted to shisha on two occasions in Egypt. I stopped smoking and went for just one shisa...I ended smoking three a day for 6 months, then another 6 months!! No shisha allowed here in Cambodia.
New Subscriber here, watching your videos. Found you from Luke Damant’s videos. I thought you were introduced as being from the U.S. I’m in NJ. Your videos are put together very well after seeing other videos. Stay safe!
I'm a woman traveling there solo only from Oct 29-Nov 1 if anyone is there then too and wants to meet up or has any tips, let me know! I wasn't sure about going but this video convinced me.
Lebanese cuisine is one of the most delicious cuisine around the world , arab countries around Lebanese always imitate what becomes internationally successful coming from Lebanon ... but we re living in an area where arabs don't respect Lebanon's cultural property , they do our meals and then they'd claim it as part of their cultural property as well ... Shawarma though is not originally Lebanese , it was a Turkish dish but Lebanese enhanced it , and added flavors and the lebanese vegees and pickles specialities that made it become famous worldwide... now the Lebanese falafel is another version of Egyptian Taamiya .. but since Falafel became so popular around the globe , some Egyptians use its Lebanese name FALAFEL to claim it as an EGYPTIAN MEAL , even though lebanese falafel is made out of chickpees , while Egyptians' is made of beans also the lebanese FALAFEL has its all success due to the lebanese garniture ( lettuce , pickles , sauce ) while egyptians eat it dry..
Mac was supposed to stay for two week or month, but booooom, he is here for two months and might come back 😂 Oh lebanon what kind of magic u have on people 🔥

I really can't get this. If the USD is highly respected by the locals in Lebanon, then why not to deal with it directly instead of exchanging it to the local currency ? Is it forbidden?
Lebanon is very European lookiing. It could be any European city along the mediterranean sea. It is a shame things are so bad there. It is a country with so much to offer. I hope that they can rebound quickly.
What you ate at first is a typical middle Eastern food it's not Lebanese. There r middle Eastern food and specific food to each country. Also there's like some foods that are the same type of food but each country does it differently and names it differently so it tastes differently.
a7len I first visited lebanon in 2012, i was a tourist like you a bit kind of but with the biggest difference is that I have 5000 years of ancestry in Lebanon according to dna tests... and all my biological familly is from here. so for me Lebanon will never be like a country... thing is I can't go back to Lebanon because of that : my father that I ve found no longer wants to visit nabbatiyeh with me... so if I go back to Lebanon I will be frustrated to visit it solo
@@eldadholostoy3775BTW, this is probably the best time to travel to Lebanon because for foreigners who are even poor if they have some dollars, they are somewhat rish when they come to Lebanon. A $1000 could probably sustain you for 3months in Lebanon. Unlike US, there you need probably around $8k/months. So, If I was a foreigner, sadly I am Lebanese, I would take this opportunity to travel to Lebanon, and exploit this "rishness"
Usually you’d find more English speaking people but the thing is you went to the wrong area of Lebanon where it’s mostly the non educated people of Lebanon
I've noticed that most tourists do this. It is probably that it's cheaper to travel to those parts of Lebanon since everyone there has low education=low economy.
