    first , its good animation . but plz ... i wanna understand more .so,i ask : why we need the lead and lag period or ( what is the benefit of opening inlet valve after BDC even there is no more charge entering and the same idea for lead >>>) the last ques. is (Is the sum of lead + lag considered an overlap also ) ???? ... Thx in advance ......

      moh saeed I think the idea is to use the momentums of the gas flow. The camshaft design collaborates with the inlet and exhaust header design. So you can overcharge the engine and increase the volumetric efficiency.

      Yes , its called valve overlap , this happens near end of exhaust stroke

    wait wait others should have 360 degrees to finish the cycle? im confuse

      Depends we are talking about. This video is for a 4 strokes engine, in wich one cycle (the four strokes) is completed when the crankshaft realize two turns (720 degrees). On the other hand, a 2 strokes engine would complete the cyclo in only the 360 dregrees that you say (one turn of the crankshaft). Regards.
