Electric Field Lines | Hindi

We give you an overview of Electric Field Lines, also known as Electric Lines of force. We also discuss their properties.
Electric field lines are a way of pictorially depicting the electric field around a charge. An Electric Field line is continuous curve drawn in such a way that the tangent to it at each point is in the direction of the net field at that point. They start from positive charge and end on a negative charge. Number of lines per unit cross-sectional area is proportional to the Electric Field. Lines of force never cross each other.
We discuss the drawbacks of Electric Field Lines. We also give you a proof that if Coulomb’s Law was not an inverse square law, we couldn’t have drawn continuous Electric Field lines.
